# Harbor Point Grading LLC: Issued Policy CA-2026-018442 vs. Carrier Binding Confirmation

## Summary

The issued policy does not match the binder in **four places**: the collision deductible, the removal of Unit 4, the Unit 6 VIN, and the auto count. The carrier needs to correct these. The premium matches the binder, but you should confirm it is still right once the corrections are made.

Two of the client's requests were never bound: the comprehensive deductible increase and the additional insured. The carrier wasn't required to include them, but they need your follow-up with the client.

## Discrepancies the carrier should correct

| # | Item | Binder (9/30/26) | Issued policy (10/7/26) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Collision deductible | $2,500 per covered auto (change #3) | $1,000 per covered auto | Binder p.1; Policy p.2 |
| 2 | Unit 4, 2018 service van, VIN ending 6640 | Removed (change #1; not on bound schedule) | Still scheduled | Binder p.1–2; Policy p.3 |
| 3 | Unit 6, 2026 pickup, VIN | VIN ending **4471** (matches client's email) | VIN ending **4417** (digits transposed) | Binder p.1–2; Client email; Policy p.3 |
| 4 | Total scheduled autos | 5 | 6 | Binder p.2; Policy p.3 |

Notes:
- **VIN.** The documents show only the last four digits. Ask the carrier to verify the full VIN against the registration or title, not just correct the last four.
- **Premium.** The policy premium is $25,350, matching the binder's revised premium. However, the policy schedules six autos, and its notice says schedule changes "may result in a premium adjustment" (Policy p.7). It's unclear whether $25,350 was rated on the bound five-auto schedule or on the issued six. Ask the carrier to confirm the premium is unchanged after corrections.
- **Collision deductible wording.** Physical damage coverage pays "less the deductible shown in the declarations" (Policy p.5, BAP-100 Section III). The wrong $1,000 entry on the declarations therefore controls until it is corrected.

## Items that match the binder and quote

- Named insured, and the policy period (10/1/26 to 10/1/27, 12:01 a.m.)
- Liability: $1,000,000 CSL
- Hired and nonowned auto liability: $1,000,000 (BAP-210)
- Medical payments: $5,000
- Comprehensive: ACV with a $1,000 deductible. This matches the binder, which says "all other terms are as quoted."
- Forms BAP-100, BAP-210 and BAP-280, all edition 01/26
- Units 1, 2, 3 and 5

## Other items needing your attention (not carrier errors)

1. **Comprehensive deductible was not bound.** The client asked to raise it to $2,500 (request #4), but the binder lists only the collision change. The policy's $1,000 is correct as bound.
   - Tell the client this change wasn't made.
   - If they still want it, request it from the carrier as a new change. The quote says changes aren't bound unless the carrier confirms them in writing (Quote p.4).
   - Any credit isn't reflected in the current premium.

2. **The additional insured is not covered.** The client's contract with the GC requires it, but the carrier excluded it pending review of the written contract (Binder p.1). The policy has no additional insured endorsement.
   - Get the contract from the client and send it to the carrier promptly.
   - Tell the client the requirement isn't met yet, since they may be out of compliance with the GC contract.
   - Do not issue a certificate showing additional insured status until the carrier endorses it.
   - The GC's name doesn't appear in any of the documents.

3. **The binding condition may not be satisfied.** The quote requires a signed application dated within 30 days of the 10/1/26 effective date (Quote p.4). None of the documents show whether this was done, so confirm it's on file with the carrier.

4. **Unit 4 is still listed.** The client sold the van, so removing it matters both for the premium and to keep the schedule accurate. Confirm the sale date with the client in case the carrier asks.

## Draft request to the carrier

**Subject:** Correction request: Harbor Point Grading LLC, Policy CA-2026-018442 (eff. 10/1/2026)

Hello,

We reviewed policy CA-2026-018442 for Harbor Point Grading LLC (issued 10/7/2026) against your binding confirmation dated 9/30/2026, which references Commercial Auto Quote Option 2, Version 3 (9/22/2026). Please correct the following, effective 10/1/2026:

1. **Collision deductible.** The declarations show $1,000 per covered auto. The binder confirmed **$2,500 per covered auto**.
2. **Unit 4 (2018 service van, VIN ending 6640).** Please remove it. The binder confirmed its removal, but it still appears on the schedule of covered autos.
3. **Unit 6 (2026 pickup).** The schedule shows the VIN ending **4417**. The bound VIN ends in **4471**. Please correct it and confirm the full VIN on the policy.
4. **Total scheduled autos.** Please correct to **5** (Units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6), per the bound schedule.

Please also:
- Confirm the total annual premium remains **$25,350**, as stated in the binder, after these corrections. If it does not, please provide the calculation.
- Confirm you have the signed application required under the quote's binding conditions, or let us know if anything is outstanding.

On the additional insured request, we will send the written contract with the general contractor under separate cover for your review.

Please send a corrective endorsement or revised declarations reflecting these changes. Thank you.

*Optional: if the client confirms they still want the comprehensive deductible raised to $2,500, add it to this email as a separate request with a premium quote. Don't present it as a correction, because it was never bound.*
