especially in PsyD, since it is, the on campus degree, have met their spouse and married. 00:02:20.045 --> 00:02:30.200 And the other piece is that several of our graduates now are in practice but her dissertation and on the beauty of psychotherapy, and she could, look at the topic from an interdisciplinary point of view without being confined to the social, scientific, and neurobiological theories of aesthetics, which she found to be inadequate. 00:02:59.910 --> 00:03:05.530 Doctor Margaret is in private practice and is one of our most wonderful graduates in the Maryland area. psychologist in particular, which is what you would be, if you went through our PsyD program, is precisely the ability to conduct psychological assessment and testing. 00:11:03.810 --> 00:11:09.195 So think of a topic that, is one that would be, doable, but also one that you're interested in. 00:12:14.255 --> 00:12:22.040 So something that's, entry equate it to enter to address a question that's intriguing to you, but also one that, you know, that hasn't been done right. 00:12:22.040 --> 00:12:31.420 Because, I mean, they're really the the essence of a a doctoral level education, is completing a dissertation and contributing to the preexisting field of psychology. 00:12:31.480 --> 00:12:49.210 So, more than simply, synthesizing or regurgitating or reformulating preexisting knowledge, as a doctor of psychology, you'll be expected to to kind of push the barriers of that knowledge, right, to to think of a new and creative idea, in psychology. 00:12:49.590 --> 00:12:55.830 And I should I should add here that there we distinguish between two different types of dissertation here at Divine Mercy. 00:12:55.830 --> 00:12:59.850 There's theoretical dissertations, and then there's empirical dissertations. 00:13:00.070 --> 00:13:09.815 So theoretical dissertations are often more philosophical in nature in the sense that they typically engage our philosophical and theological dimension of our curriculum. 00:13:10.355 --> 00:13:18.560 But that said, they're also want to take those ideas, the the way in which we understand the human person, and apply that to a therapeutic setting. 00:13:19.180 --> 00:13:30.480 So it can't simply be a philosophy dissertation or a theology dissertation, but it certainly would often does include those ideas and apply them to, Is that is the transition from being a doctoral student, being a doctoral candidate to becoming a fully fledged licensed clinical psychologist is made so much easier by coming from a a program that's
