Version 2.0, 16 September 2026. Retain the original fixed sample of 44 former-name and successor descriptions from Wikipedia revision 1373723271. The page supplied candidate claims, not evidence that they were true. Every finding is checked against external sources. The original dataset contains 55 event records drawn from 49 Google/YouTube sources.
This revision adds contemporary independent reporting where surviving first-party pages do not document historical app names, changed deadlines or feature loss. Preserve each record's original disposition and distinguish source types in additional-evidence.csv. Supported means the particular relationship is directly established. Qualified means some transition is supported but the original wording conflates entity, mechanism, geography, features or timing. Contradicted means an external source directly identifies a conflicting relationship; lack of evidence alone is not contradiction. Unresolved remains an absence of adequate retrieved evidence.
Datally's Triangle name changes from unresolved to supported. My Tracks and Trusted Contacts become qualified: retirement and recommended alternatives are established, but merger/data-transfer claims are not. YouTube Gaming retains a qualified verdict, with its revised May 30, 2019 deadline distinguished from the earlier March target. AdSense and Duo gain independent corroboration without changing their verdicts. No historical event is silently redated, and the new source evidence is separate from the original 55-event table until its event-level fields have been independently rebuilt.
Current documentation and archival announcements have different evidential roles. A currently supported feature cannot prove that a separate earlier app merged. A pre-deadline announcement cannot prove completion. Account migration, package rename, replacement recommendation and data/content transfer are separate relationships. The unit is one original claim, even when it links several events. This is a selected error-checking sample, not a random estimate of Wikipedia accuracy or a complete Google product catalogue.
The research contribution is the claim-by-claim reconciliation and explicit transition mechanisms. For a simple individual retirement date, the original announcement or contemporary reporting may be a better Wikipedia citation than this study. Preserve that distinction in any citation proposal.
Version 3.0 highlights eight confirmed relationships from the original 44-claim sample as a readable transition chronology. The full audit is retained unchanged, including three contradictions and seven unresolved cases. Illustrative supported rows do not represent an estimate of the accuracy of all historical descriptions.
