[00:24:09] The presence of the Lord is here.
[00:24:10] And I just wanna encourage you to believe,
[00:24:12] everything in the kingdom of God operates by faith.
[00:24:15] And faith means you believe it before you see it.
[00:24:19] I mean, you totally believe it before you see it.
[00:24:22] I just wanna say that today and tomorrow,
[00:24:26] many of you that came in here with heaviness
[00:24:29] and demonic strongholds and maybe some issues
[00:24:32] and even some physical infirmities,
[00:24:35] the Lord began to tell me over there,
[00:24:36] there's gonna be some folks get healed today.
[00:24:38] They're gonna get healed.
[00:24:41] All right.
[00:24:44] The spirit of infirmity is gonna leave this place
[00:24:49] this weekend, amen.
[00:24:50] It's one of those spirits
[00:24:51] we're gonna get rid of this weekend.
[00:24:53] The spirit of infirmity is one of them.
[00:24:56] But you have to believe it.
[00:24:57] You have to believe it not because it's me.
[00:24:59] I am nothing.
[00:25:00] But in the name of Jesus, we have authority.
[00:25:03] And when we do what the word of God says to do,
[00:25:06] when we believe it and act upon it,
[00:25:09] God moves, God works.
[00:25:11] And that's all you have to know
[00:25:13] is that when I believe God's word
[00:25:15] and act upon it in faith, things will change.
[00:25:19] If you doubt they will change, guess what?
[00:25:22] They will not change.
[00:25:23] You have to believe when you bind the demons
[00:25:27] and command them to leave in the name of Jesus,
[00:25:29] you have to believe that they have to go.
[00:25:32] You understand?
[00:25:33] They cannot stay.
[00:25:36] Cannot stay.
[00:25:38] When we resist the devil, he must flee from us.

[00:25:54] and we're gonna get into some of the deeper stuff.

[00:29:49] but I'm gonna share something.
[00:29:55] I wanna share, I did this with our students
[00:29:57] in our graduations last three years.
[00:30:00] We're going into the fourth year of the School of Ministry.
[00:30:03] And so we couldn't find it, but I have it on my phone.
[00:30:06] So I'm gonna play it on my phone here.
[00:30:08] But this is a prophecy over me in November of 1989.
[00:30:16] 1989, November 19th, 1989.
[00:30:20] Let's see if you can hear it.
[00:30:25] Hallelujah.
[00:30:26] Lord, I thank you for this brother.
[00:30:30] And I thank you for the commitment.
[00:30:31] You know, brother, this is what I see.
[00:30:34] I see you before God.
[00:30:36] And I see you kneeling there before the Lord
[00:30:41] in an absolute contrition,
[00:30:44] absolute dedication unto Him,
[00:30:47] just putting your life there,
[00:30:49] saying, God, it's yours.
[00:30:52] And God's taking you up on it.
[00:30:54] God's placed a calling up in your life.
[00:30:58] God's gonna have you teach.
[00:31:00] There's a teaching anointing
[00:31:01] that's going to come upon you
[00:31:02] that will be very powerful in the body of Christ.
[00:31:09] God says a teacher in my fivefold ministry,
[00:31:13] you will be the cause of the things
[00:31:15] that I'm stirring inside of you.
[00:31:18] This is not a day of release,
[00:31:20] but this is a day of preparation for you.
[00:31:22] But there'll be a day of release
[00:31:23] when I will launch you
[00:31:24] and I'll push you forth, says the Lord.
[00:31:27] And you will walk forth in my anointing and my power.
[00:31:31] And you shall teach,
[00:31:32] but there shall not be the things
[00:31:34] that all would expect,
[00:31:35] but they will be the things of God
[00:31:38] that will set the captives free
[00:31:40] and liberate my body to be what I've called it to be.
[00:31:43] For you will train many others that will go forth
[00:31:47] and they too shall teach.
[00:31:49] And they shall break the strongholds of the enemy
[00:31:52] by that taught word, says the Lord.

[00:31:59] Now think about that.
[00:32:00] 1989, folks, go ahead and give the Lord praise there.
[00:32:08] I can tell you right now,
[00:32:10] and I just feel it very strongly that many of you
[00:32:14] are called to go forth and set the captives free.
[00:32:18] You hear me?
[00:32:20] It's not about me.
[00:32:21] It's not about Fire and Grace Church.
[00:32:23] It's not just about us.
[00:32:24] It's about you becoming the ministers of Jesus Christ
[00:32:27] you're supposed to be.
[00:32:29] And ministers of Jesus Christ
[00:32:31] not only preach the Gospel,
[00:32:32] call people to repentance and faith in Jesus,
[00:32:35] but they lay hands on the sick
[00:32:37] and they recover.
[00:32:39] They cast out demons.
[00:32:40] They speak with new tongues.
[00:32:42] They take up serpents
[00:32:43] and we're gonna deal with that today.
[00:32:44] But that is what it's all about.
[00:32:47] That's the only way the captives are gonna get set free.
[00:32:49] You're gonna hear a couple of powerful testimonies
[00:32:52] about that in a little bit.
[00:32:55] Let's get into this this morning.
[00:32:56] I've entitled this Spiritual Warfare 101.
[00:33:01] I have modified these.
[00:33:03] These are not exactly what I've been through in the school
[00:33:06] but you'll see here.
[00:33:08] Anyway, these are just a few verses.
[00:33:10] We're gonna get into the Word.
[00:33:12] So I hope you have your Bibles with you
[00:33:13] so you can go ahead and open your Bibles this morning.
[00:33:16] Remember what the prophecy was there
[00:33:17] from Prophet Gene May back in 1989 was the taught Word.
[00:33:22] It's important to teach the Word.
[00:33:23] Jesus, just remember this,
[00:33:25] Jesus' ministry was basically three things.
[00:33:28] Jesus' ministry was teaching.
[00:33:32] His ministry was teaching.
[00:33:33] And of course, and that included all aspects of him
[00:33:36] teaching the Word, his prophetic ministry,
[00:33:39] the whole nine yards.
[00:33:40] But it was teaching, healing the sick,
[00:33:44] and casting out demons.
[00:33:46] You notice that's what Jesus did.
[00:33:49] Now Jesus said that the works that I do,
[00:33:51] ye shall do also, right?
[00:33:53] John 12.
[00:33:54] So we're supposed to do what Jesus did.
[00:33:56] So if he taught the Word and he was a teacher,
[00:34:00] he was known as a teacher,
[00:34:02] then the teaching ministry is important.
[00:34:04] The healing ministry is important.
[00:34:06] And the deliverance ministry is important.
[00:34:09] So this is why we're gonna teach the Word this morning.
[00:34:11] So your faith is not in any person.
[00:34:13] Your faith is in the Bible, the Word of God, amen?
[00:34:18] So let's look at it.
[00:34:18] Satan is always at work, isn't he?
[00:34:20] Sound system and everything.
[00:34:23] But just here's a few verses.
[00:34:25] Zechariah 3.1, and he showed me Joshua the high priest
[00:34:28] standing before the angel of the Lord,
[00:34:30] and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
[00:34:35] Now I say the devil is always standing nearby people.
[00:34:39] The devil or his demons are standing by people.
[00:34:42] Anybody that's trying to do anything for God
[00:34:44] are called to do anything for God.
[00:34:47] He is always going to be there to resist you,
[00:34:50] to fight against you, to oppose you,
[00:34:53] to make things tedious and difficult.
[00:34:55] That's just the way it is.
[00:34:57] We are in a spiritual war.
[00:34:59] Here's another one.
[00:35:00] First Chronicles 21.1,
[00:35:01] and Satan stood up against Israel
[00:35:05] and provoked David to number Israel.
[00:35:07] Remember, God didn't want his kings numbering the people.
[00:35:11] So he provoked David to disobey
[00:35:14] and get the whole nation in trouble.
[00:35:17] But it was Satan that stood up against Israel.
[00:35:21] Look at this here.
[00:35:22] This is Luke 22, three through four.
[00:35:24] Then entered Satan into Judas,
[00:35:28] surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the 12.
[00:35:32] And he went on his way
[00:35:34] and communed with the chief priests and captains
[00:35:36] how that he might betray him.
[00:35:39] Notice that this is very important too.
[00:35:43] Judas was called by Jesus.
[00:35:46] So he had the calling of God on his life.
[00:35:48] Then he was given the anointing
[00:35:50] to go out and heal the sick and cast out demons,
[00:35:52] which he did.
[00:35:54] Judas was a true disciple of Jesus
[00:35:58] until he decided to betray him.
[00:36:02] But what finished everything off?
[00:36:04] It says Satan entered into him,
[00:36:07] not upon him, not oppression.
[00:36:11] Satan entered into him.
[00:36:12] And we're gonna show you today.
[00:36:13] You open the door to the devil,
[00:36:15] he can enter and he can cause great problems.
[00:36:21] Of course, everybody ought to know this verse.
[00:36:23] Ephesians 6, 12 declares that we wrestle
[00:36:26] not against flesh and blood,
[00:36:28] but against principalities, against powers,
[00:36:31] against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
[00:36:33] and against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[00:36:37] This is our fight.
[00:36:39] It shouldn't be strange
[00:36:41] that we have to deal with the devil.
[00:36:42] Did you know there's pastors now
[00:36:44] that won't even talk about the devil
[00:36:45] or demons or spiritual warfare.
[00:36:48] And actually deep down, I think they don't believe it.
[00:36:50] I know my brother Allen's here today.
[00:36:52] I'm glad to have him here.
[00:36:54] He spent a little time at Southeastern Theological Seminary
[00:36:57] down in Florida way, way back when.
[00:37:00] And I know him and my other buddy Craig were there
[00:37:03] and they told me that the professors there
[00:37:05] were teaching against this stuff.
[00:37:07] We're teaching against spiritual warfare in the 80s.
[00:37:10] They were teaching against it.
[00:37:12] Can you imagine what the seminaries are doing now
[00:37:14] when it comes to spiritual warfare and casting out demons?
[00:37:18] But here it is, we were told this is our battle.
[00:37:21] And wrestling is not long distance fighting.
[00:37:24] Wrestling is up close and personal, all right?
[00:37:27] So the demons are all about being up close and personal.
[00:37:30] I wanted you to see this
[00:37:32] and it talks about principalities.
[00:37:34] The Greek word is arche here.
[00:37:36] And it means chief or leader.
[00:37:40] You'll see that right there.
[00:37:41] The first place, principality,
[00:37:43] rule, magistries of angels and demons.
[00:37:46] So you have princes, you have angels
[00:37:48] that are higher in authority than other angels.
[00:37:51] You also have fallen angels that are higher in authority
[00:37:55] than other fallen angels.
[00:37:56] And then we're gonna find out what the demons are
[00:37:59] because many of you have been taught
[00:38:01] that the fallen angels are the demons.
[00:38:02] It's not true.
[00:38:04] Fallen angels are one thing,
[00:38:05] demon spirits, unclean, evil spirits are another thing.
[00:38:09] But there is a hierarchy.
[00:38:10] They are called leaders.
[00:38:13] So when he talks about principalities and powers,
[00:38:16] we see here where Daniel was praying
[00:38:20] and he was fasting for 21 days
[00:38:22] and he was praying for God to move and do his will
[00:38:25] to set the captives free from Babylon.
[00:38:30] And he says here, but the prince of the kingdom of Persia,
[00:38:33] that could be principality there.
[00:38:35] The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me.
[00:38:38] That mean opposed me, resisted me, fought against me.
[00:38:41] And this is the angel Gabriel saying this,
[00:38:44] 20 days, but lo, Michael,
[00:38:46] one of the chief princes came to help me
[00:38:48] and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
[00:38:51] So you see there's this ongoing warfare
[00:38:54] in the spirit realm in the skies above us.
[00:38:59] Folks, it's not in hell under us.
[00:39:02] They work, and that's why Satan,
[00:39:03] one of his names is the principality and power of the air.
[00:39:07] It's out here where they're fighting,
[00:39:09] not from down there.
[00:39:12] Let's keep going here.
[00:39:14] He says thou know us that wherefore I'm come
[00:39:16] to thee now return and fight with the prince of Persia.
[00:39:19] When I'm gone forth, lo, the prince of Grisha will come.
[00:39:22] So here's Michael and Gabriel,
[00:39:25] chief angels talking about how they have to fight
[00:39:29] with other fallen angels, principalities and powers.
[00:39:33] This is going on in our world all the time
[00:39:39] and it's going on for you.
[00:39:40] There were years ago when I was doing college campus ministry
[00:39:44] back in the early and mid 90s,
[00:39:46] we went to the University of Malinvalo,
[00:39:48] which is just up the road a little bit near Birmingham.
[00:39:51] And we went there and did a meeting on Halloween
[00:39:53] and we put these flyers everywhere
[00:39:54] about witches and Satanists and everything else.
[00:39:57] Well, the witches and Satanists came to the meeting.
[00:39:59] They flooded it, filled the meeting that night.
[00:40:02] And I remember feeling the warfare.
[00:40:04] I led worship that night and then I got up and preached it.
[00:40:06] I remember feeling like this demonic push at me.
[00:40:11] And then I remember as I started preaching,
[00:40:13] I felt it push back and go out of the room.
[00:40:16] Well, one of my little ones at the time,
[00:40:20] she said, dad, you know what I saw?
[00:40:24] While you were leading praise and worship,
[00:40:26] she goes, I said, no.
[00:40:27] She said, dad, there was an angel standing beside you
[00:40:30] with a guitar just like you had a guitar.
[00:40:33] And she said, and I saw the demons in the back of the room
[00:40:37] went up to the ceiling
[00:40:39] and then a bunch of angels came up behind you
[00:40:41] and they were fighting over us.
[00:40:45] And she saw this and I felt it in the spirit.
[00:40:47] I didn't see it, but she saw it.
[00:40:49] She said, and then when you started preaching, dad,
[00:40:52] I saw the angels push the demons back out of the room.
[00:40:56] She said, then my angel sat down at a table
[00:40:58] right in front of me and was smiling at her.
[00:41:02] So this is real.
[00:41:05] I love it when little ones see stuff
[00:41:08] and tell us, you know, out of the mouth of babes,
[00:41:10] God has perfected praise, right?
[00:41:14] Now I wanna read something from the book of Enoch here.
[00:41:17] Now I believe the book of Enoch is legitimate.
[00:41:20] Only Enoch one that was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
[00:41:25] And of course we know that Jude quotes it.
[00:41:26] We know that first Peter, second Peter, it's quoted.
[00:41:29] We know that actually Jesus quoted,
[00:41:31] even the term son of man came from the book of Enoch.
[00:41:35] But let's read this here
[00:41:36] and I'm gonna give you the scriptures to back this up here
[00:41:39] because the disciples were very familiar
[00:41:42] with the book of Enoch.
[00:41:43] And one of the reasons I believe it's not in our Bible
[00:41:46] is because we didn't have ancient manuscripts
[00:41:47] to prove it until 1947 when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found
[00:41:52] and now we know what's legitimate and what's not.
[00:41:54] There's some fake books of Enoch,
[00:41:57] but there's a legitimate book.
[00:41:58] So this is Enoch 15, eight through 12.
[00:42:01] And we know from Genesis six about the giants,
[00:42:03] the sons of God, the fallen angels, a group of them
[00:42:06] decided to have relations with human women
[00:42:08] and they created the race of the giants
[00:42:10] called the Nephilim, some called the Rafa'im.
[00:42:14] You had the Zamzumim, you had the, yeah, Emim's.
[00:42:18] You had a whole bunch of descendants
[00:42:21] from the giants and human women.
[00:42:23] It says here in Enoch 15, eight through 12,
[00:42:26] and now the giants who were born from body and flesh
[00:42:30] will be called evil spirits on the earth.
[00:42:33] And on the earth will be their dwelling.
[00:42:36] And evil spirits came out from their flesh
[00:42:38] because from above they were created
[00:42:41] and from the holy watchers was their origin
[00:42:44] and first foundation.
[00:42:45] Evil spirits, they will be on earth.
[00:42:48] And spirits of the evil ones, they will be called.
[00:42:52] And the dwelling of the spirits of heaven is heaven,
[00:42:54] but the dwelling of the spirits of the earth
[00:42:56] who were born on the earth is earth.
[00:42:59] And the spirits of the giants do wrong and are corrupt.
[00:43:04] They attack, fight, break on the earth and cause sorrow.
[00:43:08] They eat no food, they do not thirst and are not observed.
[00:43:12] So you don't see them, they don't eat,
[00:43:14] they don't do like we do, they're spirits.
[00:43:16] He says, and these spirits will rise
[00:43:18] against the sons of men and against the women
[00:43:21] because they came out of them
[00:43:24] in the days of slaughter and destruction.
[00:43:26] So we're told here that the evil spirits in the world
[00:43:31] came from the giants, the Nephilim,
[00:43:35] the evil ones that were the offspring of the angels,
[00:43:39] the fallen angels and the human women.
[00:43:41] Now how do we know this?
[00:43:42] Because the Bible tells us here,
[00:43:46] the fallen angels are chained until the end.
[00:43:49] There's only a few, I believe very few,
[00:43:53] Satan being one of them, that's been loosed.
[00:43:57] We're dealing with evil spirits primarily.
[00:43:59] And I'll show you.
[00:44:00] He says, for if God spared not the angels that sinned,
[00:44:03] but cast them down to hell
[00:44:06] and delivered them into chains of darkness
[00:44:08] to be reserved unto judgment.
[00:44:11] Now when did that happen?
[00:44:12] That's past tense.
[00:44:14] He's telling you that the angels that sinned,
[00:44:17] God didn't spare them.
[00:44:18] They have been cast down to hell
[00:44:20] and delivered into chains of darkness
[00:44:22] reserved to the day of judgment.
[00:44:23] This is 2 Peter 2.4.
[00:44:26] Jude 1.6, where Enoch is quoted
[00:44:29] by the half brother of Jesus, the apostle Jude.
[00:44:33] He says here, and the angels which kept not
[00:44:35] their first estate but left their own habitation,
[00:44:38] he hath reserved in everlasting chains
[00:44:41] under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
[00:44:45] Can somebody say the angels that fell
[00:44:50] are chained in hell, under the earth?
[00:44:56] Here we have.
[00:44:57] The book of Revelation tells us
[00:45:00] that some of these angels, these fallen angels
[00:45:02] are going to be loosed in the last days.
[00:45:04] Why?
[00:45:05] Because they've been chained.
[00:45:07] They've been held.
[00:45:09] And the six angels sounded,
[00:45:10] and I heard a voice from the four horns
[00:45:12] of the golden altar which is before God
[00:45:13] saying to the six angel which had the trumpet,
[00:45:16] loosed the four angels which were bound
[00:45:18] in the great river Euphrates,
[00:45:19] and the four angels were loosed
[00:45:21] which were prepared for an hour, a day,
[00:45:23] a month, and a year for it to slay the third part of men.
[00:45:26] So we see that these angels have been chained
[00:45:30] but some are going to be let loose in the last days.
[00:45:34] We see this, them coming out of the bottomless pit
[00:45:36] in earlier in chapter nine.
[00:45:38] I believe those are demons and fallen angels.
[00:45:40] A baton is a fallen angel that's gonna come
[00:45:43] out of the bottomless pit, the destroyer.
[00:45:46] But this just lets you know,
[00:45:47] we definitely have clear two classes.
[00:45:49] Fallen angels, principalities, they're the leaders,
[00:45:53] and you have these evil spirits
[00:45:56] that are from the spirits of the giants
[00:45:58] who died in the flood and in other ways.
[00:46:04] Here you see, of course, he talks about,
[00:46:07] I like this right here where he says,
[00:46:09] when it says the rulers of the darkness of this world,
[00:46:13] it says here in the Thayer's lexicon,
[00:46:16] the world rulers of this darkness.
[00:46:19] This is what we're fighting,
[00:46:20] the world rulers of this darkness.
[00:46:23] And they love to rule politicians and pastors.
[00:46:30] Now here's first Peter five, eight, nine.
[00:46:34] I want to get into this for this reason
[00:46:36] because again, this is where he tells us,
[00:46:39] we are not to be passive in our stance
[00:46:43] against these evil spirits
[00:46:45] and against these fallen angels.
[00:46:47] We're never to be passive.
[00:46:48] You're never to sit there, just let them beat on you,
[00:46:52] to let them speak to you,
[00:46:53] to let them continue to tempt you,
[00:46:55] to talk to you, torment you.
[00:46:56] You're not to sit there and go,
[00:46:58] oh, poor pitiful me.
[00:47:00] No, you're supposed to resist.
[00:47:01] You're supposed to fight.
[00:47:03] And the word resist is very strong.
[00:47:05] It means to actively fight against, do something.
[00:47:09] He says, be sober, be vigilant because your adversary,
[00:47:13] the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about
[00:47:16] seeking whom he may devour.
[00:47:18] Meaning there's some people he can devour and destroy
[00:47:21] and there's some people he can't.
[00:47:23] I wonder who the people he can't,
[00:47:27] the people that know Jesus,
[00:47:28] the people that know the truth,
[00:47:29] the people that actively resist him.
[00:47:32] But know what devour means.
[00:47:34] I love this.
[00:47:35] Devour means that he doesn't destroy you in one whack.
[00:47:38] He's chewing you up bit by bit.
[00:47:43] Anybody ever felt that way?
[00:47:45] That he was just destroying your life
[00:47:46] one little piece at a time?
[00:47:48] Well, that's what he does.
[00:47:49] But he says here, the devil's as a roaring lion
[00:47:52] seeking whom he may devour,
[00:47:53] whom resist steadfast in the faith,
[00:47:57] knowing that the same afflictions
[00:47:59] are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
[00:48:01] So he's saying, look, it's not gonna be easy at times.
[00:48:05] It's going to be some suffering.
[00:48:06] There's gonna be some affliction,
[00:48:08] but still resist him, fight him.
[00:48:12] Fight the devil, fight the demons, resist them.
[00:48:15] Well, how do you resist them?
[00:48:17] First of all, everybody knows in Jesus' name,
[00:48:19] but we're gonna get more specific here in just a second.
[00:48:22] Let's read another one.
[00:48:23] Here's from the apostle Paul,
[00:48:25] 2 Timothy 4, 16 through 17.
[00:48:28] He says, at my first answer, no man stood with me,
[00:48:31] but all men forsook me.
[00:48:33] I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge,
[00:48:36] notwithstanding the Lord stood with me and strengthened me,
[00:48:41] and that by me, the preaching might be fully known
[00:48:44] and that all the Gentiles might hear,
[00:48:46] and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

[00:48:54] yeah, there were times he got a hold of me.
[00:48:57] There were times that I was in his mouth,
[00:48:59] I was in jeopardy, I was in danger, I was in pain,
[00:49:03] I was in affliction, but the Lord delivered me
[00:49:07] out of the mouth of the lion.
[00:49:09] Come on now, that's good news right there.
[00:49:11] Anybody ever felt like you were in the mouth of the lion?
[00:49:14] Woo, yeah.
[00:49:17] But the Lord will deliver you, but how does he deliver?
[00:49:20] Does he deliver just by you sitting there doing nothing?
[00:49:23] No, he never said that.
[00:49:24] He never said, we're gonna sit there and do nothing.
[00:49:28] Let's keep going here.
[00:49:29] Paul made this statement, I love this,
[00:49:31] 1 Corinthians 15, 32.
[00:49:33] You know, remember, when he was in Ephesus,
[00:49:37] he had to confront people who were worshiping Diana.
[00:49:41] So he confronted this group of people,
[00:49:43] and people were into all kind of witchcraft
[00:49:46] and sorcery, it called it curious arts.
[00:49:49] They had their books and all of their paraphernalia
[00:49:51] for worshiping false gods and doing witchcraft.
[00:49:55] And so when he went to Ephesus, Paul had quite the battle.
[00:49:59] All right, that's why it was Ephesians he wrote,
[00:50:02] we wrestled not against flesh and blood.
[00:50:05] He knew what he was talking about, and he said here,
[00:50:07] I have fought with beasts at Ephesus.
[00:50:10] Now he wasn't talking about fighting real beasts,
[00:50:14] real lions and bears and those type of things.
[00:50:16] No, he's saying, I fought with beasts at Ephesus.
[00:50:20] He's talking about these principalities and powers
[00:50:22] and rulers of the darkness of this world.
[00:50:26] And he even said, I have fought with these beasts.
[00:50:28] He said, what good is it if the dead rise not?
[00:50:30] Basically saying, man, I'll be glad
[00:50:32] when this battle is over.
[00:50:35] It'll be great to be with the Lord,
[00:50:36] to be resurrected and have that new body
[00:50:39] and be with Jesus.
[00:50:39] But right now we're in a fight.
[00:50:41] I don't know about y'all, but back in the day
[00:50:43] before I followed Jesus, I was a fighter, a real fighter.
[00:50:49] And I fought some guys that were a lot bigger than me,
[00:50:52] a lot stronger than me.
[00:50:54] But you know what they found out?
[00:50:56] They found out that I had a lot of fight in me.
[00:51:00] It's not the size of the fighter,
[00:51:02] it's the amount of the fight, right?
[00:51:05] And you can have some fight in you.
[00:51:07] But sometimes, I've had my jaw smacked a couple of times
[00:51:10] and you go, okay, now we're in a fight.
[00:51:15] Then you decide, okay,
[00:51:17] am I gonna lose or am I gonna win?
[00:51:21] And I found out it has a lot to do
[00:51:22] with sheer determination, right?
[00:51:25] I will not lose.
[00:51:27] This is how we have to be.
[00:51:28] I will not lose this fight.
[00:51:34] You gotta be that way.
[00:51:36] When Paul said that he fought with beast at Ephesus,
[00:51:41] it's interesting because the term fought with beast
[00:51:44] or fight with wild beast, the term here,
[00:51:47] and I'm not even gonna try to pronounce this Greek word,
[00:51:48] it's a fun one.
[00:51:50] And but it says here, I want you to notice this,
[00:51:52] where it says to be a beast fighter
[00:51:55] in the gladiatorial show, like a gladiator.
[00:51:59] The gladiators would get in the Roman Colosseum
[00:52:02] and they would release lions and tigers and bears
[00:52:07] and I mean, and they would fight these creatures.
[00:52:09] And Paul was referring to that.
[00:52:10] It is a fight to the death.
[00:52:12] It is about, and listen, the devil is after your,
[00:52:16] not just your physical life.
[00:52:18] He's after your spiritual life to deceive you,
[00:52:23] then to kill you and he wants to take you to hell forever.
[00:52:25] That's his goal.
[00:52:27] You can't let him as a Christian.
[00:52:31] He said, well, Pastor Dean,
[00:52:32] I thought if I was a Christian born again Christian,
[00:52:34] I couldn't be touched.
[00:52:36] Who told you that?
[00:52:37] I know that there's preachers out there
[00:52:39] that's preached this over the years,
[00:52:41] but has this been the experience
[00:52:42] of any Christian that you know?
[00:52:45] No.
[00:52:46] I remember the old Pentecostal preachers.
[00:52:48] I got the victory.
[00:52:52] And I'm not mocking them.
[00:52:54] I thank God for they had some victory,
[00:52:56] but you know what?
[00:52:56] I would find out about their personal lives
[00:52:59] and their family life and they didn't have the victory.
[00:53:02] You know why?
[00:53:03] Most of them were just good at shouting
[00:53:05] and what I call the Pentecostal pep rally,
[00:53:08] but they didn't know how to fight the devil
[00:53:10] and the devil was beating them to death in their home.
[00:53:15] And they didn't last.
[00:53:16] Many of them are out of the ministry now
[00:53:19] because they were just beat to death
[00:53:21] and their family and their children.
[00:53:23] It was just, and they would mock people like me
[00:53:26] talking about you need to bind the demons
[00:53:27] and resist the demons and get the accursed thing
[00:53:31] out of your house.
[00:53:32] And they would mock me, but I'm still here.
[00:53:41] This is for real.
[00:53:42] This battle's for real.
[00:53:44] Matthew 10, one, when he had called unto him
[00:53:47] his 12 disciples, he gave them power
[00:53:49] against unclean spirits to cast them out
[00:53:53] and to heal all manner of sickness
[00:53:55] and all manner of disease.
[00:53:57] This is normal Christianity.
[00:54:01] You understand, this is how Jesus started everything.
[00:54:04] I can't believe there are preachers that say
[00:54:07] that we're not supposed to do these things.
[00:54:08] These things passed away in the first century
[00:54:11] or no more or whatever.
[00:54:12] This is nonsense.
[00:54:14] Jesus gave power or authority to his disciples.
[00:54:18] Notice how it says against unclean spirits, comma,
[00:54:22] to cast them out, comma, and to heal.
[00:54:26] You have power or authority against unclean spirits
[00:54:30] to stop them, not always to cast them out.
[00:54:33] I will stop demons working through unsaved people.
[00:54:35] I don't cast demons out of unsaved people.
[00:54:39] This is an important point, you need to understand.
[00:54:41] You don't need to cast demons out of unsaved people.
[00:54:43] You know why?
[00:54:44] They have no means to keep the demons out.
[00:54:47] You will actually make them worse
[00:54:49] if you cast demons out of an unsaved person,
[00:54:51] which means deliverance ministry is for Christians.
[00:54:57] Yet, we've been taught that Christians can't have demons.
[00:55:02] We're gonna address that in the next session,
[00:55:05] but let's keep going.
[00:55:06] Of course, Jesus said here, Luke 10, 19,
[00:55:09] behold, I give unto you power to tread
[00:55:10] on serpents and scorpions
[00:55:12] that over all the power of the enemy
[00:55:14] and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
[00:55:16] So again, this word power means authority.
[00:55:18] And I want you to notice here
[00:55:20] that this was not the group of 12 he was speaking to.
[00:55:23] This was the 70.
[00:55:25] Remember, there were 70 other disciples
[00:55:28] that were following Jesus,
[00:55:30] that he gave the anointing of the Holy Spirit to
[00:55:32] and the authority to go cast out demons and heal the sick.
[00:55:36] So this blows it out of the water
[00:55:37] that it was only for the 12 apostles, right?
[00:55:40] He gave this to the 70.
[00:55:42] How many of y'all know Luke was one of the 70, right?
[00:55:47] Luke was one of the 70, and we know he went forth.
[00:55:51] So this reveals that the power is not just given
[00:55:54] to the 12 apostles of the Lamb,
[00:55:55] but even to babes as Jesus called them.
[00:55:58] And this is the good news.
[00:56:00] If you're a baby Christian,
[00:56:02] you can be just saved yesterday or this morning,
[00:56:06] and God has given you authority over demons and devils.
[00:56:10] That is what was beautiful.
[00:56:11] A lot of this stuff I did in my early days
[00:56:14] was right after I rededicated my life to the Lord
[00:56:17] and got filled with the Holy Spirit.
[00:56:18] And I just found out in Jesus' name,
[00:56:20] I'm gonna cast out demons.
[00:56:21] In Jesus' name, I can bind demons.
[00:56:23] I just started doing it.
[00:56:25] And amazing, 19 years old, 20 years old,
[00:56:28] 21 years old, it was working.
[00:56:32] And that's why Jesus said,
[00:56:34] oh man, I had rejoiced that this was given to babes.
[00:56:38] This is for all believers to understand
[00:56:41] you have this authority and power in the name of Jesus
[00:56:45] to cast out demons.
[00:56:46] There's the word authority, the Greek definition.
[00:56:49] You'll have two words a lot of times.
[00:56:51] The King James and English translations
[00:56:53] will translate power.
[00:56:55] Usually it's either authority, it's either exusia,
[00:56:58] authority or dunamis, meaning the miraculous power of God.
[00:57:03] But this here is exusia or exusia.
[00:57:06] And it just means the ability, the privilege,
[00:57:08] the force, the capacity.
[00:57:11] It's delegated authority from Jesus.
[00:57:15] So everybody say this.
[00:57:16] I have delegated authority from Jesus
[00:57:22] against all demons and even Satan himself.
[00:57:29] There you go.
[00:57:30] All right, let's read Mark 16, 15 through 18.

[00:57:37] Jesus said unto them, go ye into all the world

[00:57:51] In my name they shall cast out devils.

[00:57:56] And this doesn't mean picking up snakes.
[00:57:59] And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.

[00:58:09] and sat on the right hand of God.

[00:58:15] and confirming the word with signs following.
[00:58:18] Again, I wanna say this whole passage right here
[00:58:21] is normal Christianity, normal Christianity.
[00:58:25] When Jehovah Witnesses used to come to my door,
[00:58:28] I would get them to turn in their screwed up,
[00:58:32] corrupted new world translation.
[00:58:35] I would get them to turn to Mark 16.
[00:58:37] You know, recently they took it out
[00:58:39] because I guess I got people doing this a lot.
[00:58:42] But I would turn and I say,
[00:58:44] do these things happen in your church in, what is it?
[00:58:50] Kingdom Hall, I couldn't think of the name.
[00:58:52] I'd say, does this happen in Kingdom Hall?
[00:58:55] And they would go, no.
[00:58:56] And you know, they would always have an experienced one
[00:58:58] and then a trainee and the trainee would be going,
[00:59:00] oh, no, you know, and looking at the other one
[00:59:04] and you know, you immediately divided them.
[00:59:08] And I say, well, they happened in my church,
[00:59:09] so why would I go to your church?
[00:59:14] I said, because I've seen, I said,
[00:59:16] I cast out demons and we see the sick heal
[00:59:18] and people speaking tongues and baptizing the Holy Spirit,
[00:59:21] like Acts chapter two, I said,
[00:59:23] so what do you have to offer me?
[00:59:25] Nothing, your church is dead, empty.
[00:59:29] And they'd be going, oh.
[00:59:31] They actually must have put me on the list
[00:59:32] because they stopped coming to my house.
[00:59:33] I hadn't had Jehovah Witnesses in years.
[00:59:37] We used to have them all the time,
[00:59:38] but yeah, they come next door and then they run.
[00:59:45] Now this power and this authority
[00:59:47] as we see is not for everyone.
[00:59:48] You can't just pick up the name of Jesus
[00:59:50] and start using it.
[00:59:51] If you're not really a born again child of God,
[00:59:54] you must be born again.
[00:59:56] You must know that you are saved,
[00:59:59] washed in the blood of Jesus
[01:00:01] and your spirit's been regenerated.
[01:00:03] You have to know you're saved
[01:00:05] because we see some folks that decided,
[01:00:07] well, I see what Paul's doing.
[01:00:10] He's casting out demons.
[01:00:12] Let's just go try this in Jesus name.
[01:00:14] Nope, that didn't work for them.
[01:00:16] And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul
[01:00:19] that from his body were brought into the sick
[01:00:22] handkerchiefs or aprons and diseases departed from them
[01:00:25] and evil spirits went out of them.
[01:00:26] Now this is powerful right here.
[01:00:28] Just Paul's clothing drove out demons.
[01:00:31] If your clothing's not driving out demons
[01:00:33] then you got some room to grow, right?
[01:00:35] All right.
[01:00:37] Probably need to get a little more anointed, all right.
[01:00:40] But it says then certain of the vagabond Jews,
[01:00:43] exorcists, took upon them to call over them
[01:00:45] which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus
[01:00:48] saying we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.
[01:00:51] We'll say if you want us to talk about
[01:00:52] this happening in the modern day,
[01:00:54] it happens a lot within the Catholic Church.
[01:00:56] Now don't get me wrong.
[01:00:57] I believe there's Catholics that are born again
[01:00:59] and saved that love Jesus.
[01:01:01] And some of them cast out demons and they have some success.
[01:01:04] But there are Catholics, most of them,
[01:01:06] these priests, these exorcists,
[01:01:09] you want to talk about why they get beat up,
[01:01:10] thrown across the room and some of them get killed
[01:01:14] is because of this right here.
[01:01:16] And there were seven sons of Sceva,
[01:01:18] a Jew, chief of the priests,
[01:01:19] which did so and the evil spirit answered and said,
[01:01:21] Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you?
[01:01:25] And the man in whom the evil spirit
[01:01:27] was leaped on them and overcame them
[01:01:29] and prevailed against them so that they fled
[01:01:30] out of the house naked and wounded.
[01:01:32] And that's just another thing.
[01:01:33] If you're seeing deliverance sessions
[01:01:36] where the deliverance ministers
[01:01:38] and the people are getting hurt or wounded
[01:01:41] or anything like that, something's wrong.
[01:01:44] Something's seriously wrong.
[01:01:45] One of the worst situations I had one time,
[01:01:47] I was praying for a man who had been molested
[01:01:51] when he was very young,
[01:01:53] gotten into a homosexual lifestyle because of that,
[01:01:58] got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit
[01:02:01] and became a minister of the gospel
[01:02:03] and was a minister in a church for about 10 years.
[01:02:06] I was good friends with him
[01:02:08] and but he didn't know about deliverance.
[01:02:10] And so he still had all these demonic strongholds in him
[01:02:13] because you don't just get the getting saved
[01:02:15] does not get the demons out of it.
[01:02:17] All right, there's something you're gonna learn today.
[01:02:19] What those of you have been saved
[01:02:21] and you still have demonic strongholds,
[01:02:22] it's like trying to hold beach balls underwater.
[01:02:25] You can only do it for so long.
[01:02:27] The beach balls are going to pop up.
[01:02:30] All right, so this guy,
[01:02:32] and I'm still friends with him to this day, loving,
[01:02:34] but he came to us and said,
[01:02:37] after he heard me teach on deliverance
[01:02:39] and of course he fell back into his homosexuality,
[01:02:42] he got busted, he lost his job in this big church
[01:02:46] and his wife left him, his kids wouldn't talk to him.
[01:02:49] I mean, it was terrible.
[01:02:51] I felt, my heart just felt bad for him
[01:02:56] and I reached out to him.
[01:02:58] And finally he decided, oh, I need deliverance.
[01:03:01] But here's what the thing was.
[01:03:03] He really wasn't ready to let go of his sin.
[01:03:07] And he put a stipulation on God.
[01:03:09] He said, God, if you bring my wife back to me,
[01:03:11] then I'll serve you.
[01:03:13] Well, when he came to us with his list of doorways
[01:03:17] that he'd opened and he had quite the list,
[01:03:21] I remember starting to pray for him
[01:03:22] and I began to sense something is wrong.
[01:03:26] We weren't getting anywhere and the demons manifested.
[01:03:29] Now, sometimes they manifest, not always,
[01:03:33] but sometimes they take over the person
[01:03:35] and they start talking through
[01:03:37] and they start to usually be a different voice
[01:03:41] and they usually be their face starts contorting,
[01:03:43] they'll be growling, I mean,
[01:03:44] just weird stuff will start happening.
[01:03:46] But I remember the demons started talking through him
[01:03:48] and his whole face changed and he goes,
[01:03:52] they basically said, we're not going anywhere
[01:03:57] because he wants us here.
[01:03:59] He wants his sin.
[01:04:01] And then they took his hands,
[01:04:03] his own hands around his throat
[01:04:06] and threw him to the floor
[01:04:07] and were trying to choke him to death.
[01:04:10] He was turning purple.
[01:04:12] And I remember just again, this is not gonna happen.
[01:04:15] I commanded them to stop in Jesus name.
[01:04:18] I said, stop, you will not kill him.
[01:04:20] You will not destroy him.
[01:04:21] Stop in the name of Jesus.
[01:04:23] Now, his hands let go, took off.
[01:04:26] And I said, and I commanded them
[01:04:29] to be pushed in the background.
[01:04:31] And I talked to him, I said, brother,
[01:04:33] this is not happening, you know it.
[01:04:35] And he admitted, I said, you gotta serve Jesus
[01:04:38] whether your wife comes back to you or not.
[01:04:40] You gotta serve Jesus whether your children
[01:04:41] ever talk to you again or not.
[01:04:43] You gotta make up your mind,
[01:04:44] is Jesus gonna be number one
[01:04:47] and you're gonna hate your sin and turn away from it,
[01:04:49] then God can set you free.
[01:04:50] And this is another thing.
[01:04:51] The most important issue,
[01:04:52] and if you hear any, if you don't hear anything else
[01:04:54] I say today, you better hear this.
[01:04:56] Getting the demons out is easy.
[01:05:00] Getting people to repent and really live for Jesus,
[01:05:04] that's the hard part.
[01:05:05] Anybody that truly repents,
[01:05:08] turns away from their sin
[01:05:09] and truly makes Jesus Lord of their lives,
[01:05:12] it's gonna be easy to get them free.
[01:05:15] They just need a little knowledge,
[01:05:17] sometimes a little help,
[01:05:18] sometimes they can do it themselves.
[01:05:21] But the problem is getting people to repent.
[01:05:23] Too many people want to add Jesus
[01:05:26] to their sinful lifestyle.
[01:05:29] And you can't do that.
[01:05:31] You're gonna have to be ready to let go
[01:05:32] of the fornication, the adultery, the pornography,
[01:05:37] the hatred, the unforgiveness you have toward somebody
[01:05:40] that maybe hurt you.
[01:05:44] You know, we got a lot of people in here today.
[01:05:46] You know, the old statistics were one in four girls
[01:05:50] were sexually molested when they were young
[01:05:52] and one in six boys.
[01:05:53] You imagine in this room,
[01:05:54] there's probably some we don't even know about.
[01:06:00] And so I wanna tell you that right now.
[01:06:03] I know some of you may be struggling,
[01:06:06] but the most important thing for you to do
[01:06:08] is confess your sins, repent,
[01:06:12] let Jesus wash your sins away
[01:06:14] and start walking with him as a disciple.
[01:06:16] Even if you're struggling,
[01:06:17] even if you're stumbling around,
[01:06:20] if you're serious about making Jesus Lord
[01:06:23] and being a disciple,
[01:06:25] then you can get the demons out.

[01:06:57] how do we resist the devil?

[01:07:02] you have to speak to them.
[01:07:05] You have to speak out loud.
[01:07:08] Sometimes if you don't wanna seem crazy
[01:07:10] to a bunch of your family members,
[01:07:11] you might have to go in the bathroom
[01:07:13] and do it quietly,
[01:07:14] especially at Thanksgiving.
[01:07:19] But it works just the same.
[01:07:23] But this is, it's by speaking.
[01:07:25] When the evening was come,
[01:07:26] they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils
[01:07:30] and he cast out the spirits with his word
[01:07:33] and healed all that were sick.
[01:07:35] So it's speaking.
[01:07:37] You have to speak to them.
[01:07:40] Now, it says here,
[01:07:41] of course, submit yourselves therefore to God,
[01:07:43] resist the devil and he will flee from you.
[01:07:45] Again, how do you resist?
[01:07:47] By speaking.

[01:08:04] but we had a powerful incident.

[01:08:09] In 1987, when I came back from Arkansas
[01:08:13] on fire for Jesus,
[01:08:15] and we were, you know,
[01:08:16] we were hanging out.
[01:08:17] I came back for Christmas time.
[01:08:19] And of course,
[01:08:20] I'd already moved out of the house.
[01:08:22] I wasn't living at home,
[01:08:22] but I was staying at mom's house.
[01:08:24] Allen was still in high school
[01:08:27] and I was staying at mom's house
[01:08:28] and mom and my stepdad decided to go out.
[01:08:31] You know, this was right after Christmas.
[01:08:33] They decided to go out
[01:08:34] and drink it and party in as they would do.
[01:08:36] And Allen and I just stayed home.
[01:08:38] We were watching preaching on TV and they came in.
[01:08:43] I don't know if it was 11 o'clock or midnight,
[01:08:45] but they came in,
[01:08:47] you know,
[01:08:48] a little on the drunk side
[01:08:50] and just lost it on us.
[01:08:53] I mean, chaos,
[01:08:56] yelling, screaming, cussing.
[01:08:57] I'm like,
[01:08:59] you know, back when we were smoking dope
[01:09:01] and doing drugs and drinking,
[01:09:02] this never happened.
[01:09:06] I'm like, what in the world is going on?
[01:09:09] And so, you know,
[01:09:10] we were trying to talk,
[01:09:11] it got so bad that my stepdad
[01:09:13] actually went and pulled a gun on me.
[01:09:16] Yeah, it was getting real up in there, right?
[01:09:18] We're about to have some domestic violence.
[01:09:21] And I remember,
[01:09:23] I don't remember how he ended up
[01:09:25] going to his room and finally passing out
[01:09:27] and mom was still just,
[01:09:29] mom was just,
[01:09:30] and if you knew my mom,
[01:09:32] you'd go,
[01:09:33] you saw her before she passed away,
[01:09:34] you'd be like, no way.
[01:09:35] This lady was cussing people out,
[01:09:37] her own sons.
[01:09:38] No way.
[01:09:39] Yeah, way.
[01:09:40] She was doing it.
[01:09:42] And I remember,
[01:09:44] Alan was in the kitchen with her
[01:09:45] and I was instilling the den.
[01:09:46] I guess I had kind of,
[01:09:48] I don't know,
[01:09:49] I kind of went into the other room
[01:09:50] and then I came back,
[01:09:51] but Alan was in there and mom was just,
[01:09:53] just yelling.
[01:09:55] Finally, Alan got sick and tired of it
[01:09:56] and just said,
[01:09:57] I bind the demons in you.
[01:09:59] I rebuke them in the name of Jesus.
[01:10:03] And let me tell you,
[01:10:04] she shut up and sat down.
[01:10:08] True story.

[01:10:13] and have a serious conversation
[01:10:14] and tell her about Jesus.
[01:10:16] And that was on a Saturday night.
[01:10:17] The next morning,
[01:10:19] my stepdad,
[01:10:20] which was weird,
[01:10:22] why he ended up having to go to work on Saturday.
[01:10:24] I'm a Sunday morning.
[01:10:26] He went to work.
[01:10:26] I told Alan and Jennifer,
[01:10:28] my sister,
[01:10:29] brothers,
[01:10:30] y'all go ahead and go to church.
[01:10:31] Cause I felt like I was supposed to stay home
[01:10:33] and talk to mom.
[01:10:34] And I stayed home and my mom,
[01:10:35] we had a great conversation
[01:10:37] and led her to Jesus that day.
[01:10:38] That was the day my mom was born again.
[01:10:45] And I asked my mom right before she died,
[01:10:47] I was with her in the hospital.
[01:10:49] And I thought,
[01:10:51] everybody in the South
[01:10:52] takes us about three or four times
[01:10:53] to get saved, right?
[01:10:55] Right.
[01:10:57] And I asked mom though,
[01:11:00] when she was in the hospital,
[01:11:00] I said,
[01:11:01] mom, I said,
[01:11:02] when was the first time you were ever really
[01:11:04] just born again?
[01:11:05] Cause I thought maybe she went to church
[01:11:06] or when she was younger and everything.
[01:11:09] And she said,
[01:11:10] that day when I prayed with you,
[01:11:13] I was like,
[01:11:14] wow, I didn't even know that.
[01:11:16] I mean,
[01:11:17] so the demons,
[01:11:18] remember Satan blinds the minds of those
[01:11:21] who don't believe.
[01:11:23] And a lot of times we're seeing people
[01:11:25] coming at us and they're cussing us
[01:11:27] and they're fighting us
[01:11:28] and they're resisting us
[01:11:28] and they're not listening to us.
[01:11:30] And sometimes you just need to bind
[01:11:32] and rebuke the demons in there.
[01:11:33] We've seen this with other family members
[01:11:35] that were losing their minds on us.
[01:11:38] My wife on one,
[01:11:40] there was a heated argument
[01:11:42] and my wife was on the porch
[01:11:43] and I'm out in the yard
[01:11:44] arguing with this family member
[01:11:47] cause she cussed out some of my church members.
[01:11:49] And
[01:11:52] my wife's on the porch real quietly,
[01:11:54] she said, I bind the demons in her in Jesus name.
[01:11:56] Her feet flew out from under,
[01:11:57] nobody was around her.
[01:11:58] Her feet flew out from under,
[01:11:59] she hit the ground,
[01:12:00] her mouth stopped
[01:12:01] and she walked off of our property
[01:12:02] and come back for six months.
[01:12:05] This is how powerful this is.
[01:12:07] We're dealing with demons in people.
[01:12:09] When people are attacking you
[01:12:10] and it's like,
[01:12:11] this is stupid.
[01:12:12] What is happening here?
[01:12:14] When it's just,
[01:12:14] you better start addressing that in them.
[01:12:17] All right,
[01:12:18] and the power of your words.
[01:12:23] Now I was gonna go back to this.
[01:12:25] Remember when it said take up serpents?
[01:12:26] Remember I said that I was gonna
[01:12:29] get back to that.
[01:12:29] Jesus called demons and devils,
[01:12:30] serpents and scorpions.
[01:12:32] Those are symbolic
[01:12:35] terms for demons,
[01:12:37] for unclean spirits.
[01:12:38] If you look up the word there,
[01:12:39] what says take up serpents,
[01:12:41] the take up is the word Iero here.
[01:12:45] And I like what it says here
[01:12:46] because it says to raise the voice,
[01:12:50] to keep in suspense.
[01:12:52] And I tell you,
[01:12:53] there's two things you need to know.
[01:12:54] There's binding demons
[01:12:57] and there's casting out demons.
[01:12:58] These are two different things.
[01:13:01] Binding a demon,
[01:13:03] and I'm gonna give you the definition if you're writing,
[01:13:04] binding a demon
[01:13:06] is a temporary suspense
[01:13:09] of their activity.
[01:13:13] This is to be used in people
[01:13:15] or in situations where you're not really,
[01:13:17] people are not really prepared
[01:13:19] to have them cast out of them,
[01:13:22] but you have to stop their activity against you.
[01:13:26] Now this can be
[01:13:27] through another person's coming at you,
[01:13:29] like I just shared with my mom.
[01:13:32] And that other relative,
[01:13:33] or it can just be you getting attacked.
[01:13:36] Y'all know what I'm talking about.
[01:13:37] You can be sitting there minding your own business.
[01:13:39] You might even just finish praying
[01:13:42] and fasting for a week.
[01:13:44] And here comes the devil with this load of nonsense.
[01:13:47] It could be filth, lust,
[01:13:50] it could be anger,
[01:13:51] you could be trying to stir you up
[01:13:52] to be mad at somebody
[01:13:54] and you'll have this flood of thoughts and feelings.
[01:13:57] You better bind those demons
[01:13:59] in Jesus name and rebuke them.
[01:14:01] I'm gonna explain why I keep saying this term, bind them.
[01:14:05] Because guess what?
[01:14:07] It's what Jesus said to do.
[01:14:10] It's kind of simple.
[01:14:11] But again, this is not about taking up serpents.
[01:14:13] It's about that temporary suspense.
[01:14:16] For instance, our army rangers I've heard,
[01:14:20] I think this is at Fort Benning,
[01:14:21] but our army rangers are trained.
[01:14:24] They'll throw them in a pit
[01:14:26] and they'll throw some snakes in there.
[01:14:28] Because if they're in the bush,
[01:14:30] if they're hiding and a snake comes up upon them,
[01:14:34] they can't make a lot of racket, can't be freaking out.
[01:14:38] So if you have to deal with a rattlesnake
[01:14:40] and Jesse, this does not go for you anymore.
[01:14:45] You're done with that.
[01:14:48] But sometimes they would teach them how to grab ahold of them.
[01:14:51] And if you grab ahold of them right,
[01:14:52] like Steve Irwin,
[01:14:55] you grab ahold of them right
[01:14:56] and don't let behind their head, they can't get you.
[01:14:58] And you pick them up,
[01:14:59] you're suspending their ability to do what they would do.
[01:15:03] Now, some of them are pretty stout and tough, as we know.
[01:15:10] But this is what you do.
[01:15:12] And this is what you would see people that hunt snakes
[01:15:15] and they're into all that, they have to get ahold of them.
[01:15:18] They get them in a tube or something,
[01:15:19] or they get ahold of their head,
[01:15:21] but they suspend their ability to strike you and poison you.
[01:15:26] This is what binding is about.
[01:15:28] Binding demons, taking up serpents.
[01:15:30] This is what this is about.
[01:15:31] This is a tool that you must use frequently a weapon
[01:15:39] or you're gonna be in trouble.
[01:15:40] Now, here's where Jesus first taught this.
[01:15:43] This is Matthew 16, 13 through 19.
[01:15:47] Says, when Jesus came into the coast of Caesarea Philippi,
[01:15:49] he asked his disciples saying,
[01:15:50] who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?
[01:15:54] And they said, some say thou art John the Baptist,
[01:15:56] some Elias or Elijah and others, Jeremiah,
[01:15:59] or one of the prophets.
[01:15:59] And he said unto them,
[01:16:01] but whom say ye that I am?
[01:16:03] And Simon Peter answers to thou art the Christ,
[01:16:06] the Son of the living God.
[01:16:08] And Jesus answered and said unto them,

[01:16:11] for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,

[01:17:09] to bind and to loose.
[01:17:13] We bind demons, we loose people.
[01:17:16] There's a teaching in the charismatic church
[01:17:18] that you loose demons, that's witchcraft.
[01:17:22] You don't loose demons, ever.
[01:17:25] You hear me, ever.
[01:17:26] You never say demon, I loose you.
[01:17:28] Never, never ever in any situation.
[01:17:34] You bind the demons, you loose people.
[01:17:39] But he says that I will build my church,
[01:17:42] the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
[01:17:44] So the context of this passage is spiritual warfare
[01:17:48] against Satan, the demons, the gates of hell.
[01:17:53] He says, I will give unto thee the keys
[01:17:55] of the kingdom of heaven,
[01:17:56] and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth
[01:17:58] shall be bound in heaven in the spirit realm,
[01:18:01] and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth
[01:18:03] shall be loosed in heaven.
[01:18:06] Now there are things we loose.
[01:18:07] I tell the demons to loose money.
[01:18:10] That's why I don't ask y'all for it.
[01:18:13] Because the devil's what's holding back
[01:18:15] is he's holding back by talking to people.
[01:18:17] So when I tell him to loose what we need
[01:18:19] to do something, it gets loosed, right?
[01:18:24] When I tell him to let go of certain things,
[01:18:26] he's gotta let go.
[01:18:29] I tell him to loose people
[01:18:30] that are supposed to come to meetings.
[01:18:32] Because the devil tries to keep people from church
[01:18:35] like all the time, in creative ways.
[01:18:39] But these keys of the kingdom binding and loosing.
[01:18:45] Now I wanna show you this.
[01:18:46] This is Matthew chapter 12.
[01:18:47] We're almost to the end of this session.
[01:18:49] We're gonna take a little break

[01:18:51] kinda Christian have a demon.
[01:18:56] I say this all the time,
[01:18:57] the Christian can have whatever they want.
[01:19:01] The two of you agree it shall be done.
[01:19:03] You agree with the devil, you got it.

[01:19:07] But here's what Jesus was teaching in Matthew 12,
[01:19:11] verse 22 through 28.
[01:19:12] Then was brought unto him one possessed with the devil.

[01:19:18] but the word possessed in English,
[01:19:19] we think it means total control.
[01:19:22] That's not what it means in Greek.
[01:19:24] It means more about being afflicted, tormented, vexed,
[01:19:28] and those are degrees.
[01:19:29] You can get to the point of total possession,
[01:19:32] but most of us are not there.
[01:19:34] But you may have a stronghold
[01:19:36] in one little area of your life.
[01:19:38] Well that's enough though to cause you a lot of problems.
[01:19:40] It doesn't mean you're totally controlled.
[01:19:42] You're not Linda Blair with your head spinning around
[01:19:43] spitting out pea soup, all right?
[01:19:46] But you still are being tormented and vexed in the area.
[01:19:49] Anybody feel like they got an area
[01:19:51] they're tormented and vexed in?
[01:19:53] It's okay.
[01:19:56] It's okay because guess what?
[01:19:58] I know the rest of you,
[01:19:59] the ones that raised your hand telling the truth,
[01:20:01] the rest of you liars,
[01:20:02] but you'll get free from that.

[01:20:13] But says there was brought unto him one possessed
[01:20:15] with the devil blind and dumb
[01:20:16] and he healed him in so much that the blind and dumb
[01:20:18] both spake and saw.
[01:20:19] And all the people were amazed and said,
[01:20:20] it's not this, the son of David.
[01:20:23] But when the Pharisees heard it,
[01:20:24] they said, this fellow did not cast out devils,
[01:20:26] but by Beals above, the prince of the devils.
[01:20:29] And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them,
[01:20:31] every kingdom divided against itself
[01:20:32] is brought to desolation
[01:20:33] and every city or house divided against itself
[01:20:35] shall not stand.
[01:20:36] And if Satan cast out Satan,
[01:20:38] he is divided against himself.
[01:20:39] How shall then his kingdom stand?
[01:20:42] Which again, you see a ministry that focuses on
[01:20:45] casting demons out of people.
[01:20:47] They're on our side, all right?
[01:20:49] And he says here,
[01:20:51] if I by Beals above cast out demons,
[01:20:54] by whom do your children cast them out?
[01:20:56] Therefore they shall be your judges.
[01:20:57] But if I cast out devils by the spirit of God,
[01:21:01] then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
[01:21:04] This is what I love about this.
[01:21:06] Jesus is saying if I'm casting devils out,
[01:21:10] then the kingdom of God is near.
[01:21:12] Kingdom of God is there.
[01:21:14] What is he saying?
[01:21:16] This is part of it.
[01:21:17] This is supposed to be a big part of it.
[01:21:22] Because people are,
[01:21:23] you know the scripture where it says he came,
[01:21:26] Luke 4 says he came to set the captives free, right?
[01:21:29] He came to preach deliverance to the captives.
[01:21:32] The word captive there means prisoner of war.
[01:21:36] Well, guess what?
[01:21:38] That means you're on the right side.
[01:21:41] If the devil's taking you and you're his prisoner of war,
[01:21:44] you're on the right side.
[01:21:45] You're just a prisoner of war.
[01:21:50] And the Lord wants you free from that.
[01:21:51] He wants to break you free from being a prisoner of war.
[01:21:56] And this is how it's done.
[01:21:57] This is what the kingdom of God is all about,
[01:22:02] setting people free.
[01:22:03] And then verse 29 is the key here
[01:22:06] of this passage right here.
[01:22:07] I hope you all get this one.
[01:22:09] Jesus said, or else how can one enter
[01:22:12] into a strong man's house and spoil his goods
[01:22:17] except he first bind the strong man
[01:22:20] and then he will spoil his house.
[01:22:21] So speaking about the enemy, remember,
[01:22:24] Jesus just cast demons out of a deaf and dumb person
[01:22:27] and he cast out a deaf and dumb spirit.
[01:22:29] It's not complicated.
[01:22:31] He cast that out and they were healed.
[01:22:34] And he said, but how do you get the strong man
[01:22:37] out of the house and set the house free?
[01:22:40] How do you get him out?
[01:22:41] First, bind the strong man.
[01:22:45] Do you know Jesus only said to do two things first?
[01:22:50] Matthew 6.33 said, seek ye first the kingdom of God
[01:22:54] and his righteousness.
[01:22:56] And then all these things will be added to you.
[01:22:57] And then he said, first, bind the strong man.
[01:23:01] That's how important it is.
[01:23:03] Now, how do you do that, Pastor Dean?
[01:23:04] Say the words, I bind the strong man of lust
[01:23:10] in the name of Jesus.
[01:23:11] I'm gonna show you this.
[01:23:12] You're gonna like my little illustration here.
[01:23:15] Found a little lust demon, all right?
[01:23:22] All right, here's the strong man
[01:23:25] would be the spirit of Hordums.
[01:23:26] The Bible mentions the spirit of Hordums.
[01:23:29] What is Hordums?
[01:23:30] Lust, sexual lust, perversion.
[01:23:33] So in this area of sexual sin and immorality,
[01:23:36] you would have a strong man.
[01:23:37] So you got the strong man, the spirit of Hordums,
[01:23:40] and then their house, lust, fornication,
[01:23:42] adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia,
[01:23:44] incest, voyeurism, pornography, bestiality,
[01:23:47] sexual rape, violence, transgenderism.
[01:23:49] I mean, that's not even an exhaustive list.
[01:23:51] This is showing you there's your strong man
[01:23:55] and there's the house.
[01:23:55] When I pray for somebody who's going through lust problems,
[01:23:58] of course, I look at the doorways
[01:24:00] and see what doors they've opened to let these things in
[01:24:04] and we deal with it that way.
[01:24:06] But when I start going through sexual sin
[01:24:08] and sexual demons in somebody,
[01:24:09] the first thing I do is in Jesus' name,
[01:24:12] I bind the spirit of Hordums in them in Jesus' name.
[01:24:15] I bind the strong man.
[01:24:16] I tear down his strongholds.
[01:24:18] I spoil his house now in Jesus' name.
[01:24:21] And then I start commanding.
[01:24:22] I command the spirit of Hordums to go in Jesus' name.
[01:24:24] I command the spirits of lust and perversion
[01:24:26] to go in Jesus' name.
[01:24:28] I command fornication.
[01:24:29] If that sin's been committed and that doorway's open,
[01:24:31] you have a spirit of fornication.
[01:24:33] I command the spirit of fornication to go in Jesus' name
[01:24:36] and on down the list,
[01:24:38] I bind those demons and command them to go,
[01:24:40] but I first bind the strong man,
[01:24:42] then I start spoiling the house
[01:24:44] and tearing down that stronghold in that person's life.
[01:24:47] And that's how you pray.
[01:24:48] That's how you do it.
[01:24:49] You can do it for yourself.
[01:24:50] You can do it for other people,
[01:24:52] but this is how you do it.
[01:24:53] Why is this how you do it?
[01:24:54] Because Jesus said to do it this way.
[01:24:57] First bind the strong man,
[01:24:59] then you spoil his house.
[01:25:00] Don't come up with another way.
[01:25:01] People got all these words.
[01:25:02] Well, I renounce this and I renounce.
[01:25:04] Stop it.
[01:25:05] Where is that?
[01:25:07] Bind it.
[01:25:09] Do what Jesus said.
[01:25:10] Do it the way he taught.
[01:25:12] We do it with our words.
[01:25:13] We do it with speaking it.
[01:25:15] So it's not something that you,
[01:25:17] you can't take a chain and walk up and wrap a demon up.
[01:25:20] You say in the name of Jesus,
[01:25:22] I bind the strong man,
[01:25:24] the spirit of Hortons in this person,
[01:25:26] and I command it to leave now in Jesus name.
[01:25:30] This is how you deal with this stuff.
[01:25:33] Specific.
[01:25:35] You know, I've had people that were molested.
[01:25:38] I've prayed for many who were molested
[01:25:39] when they were children.
[01:25:40] And I bind, when I start through this,
[01:25:42] I say I bind the spirit of molestation
[01:25:46] and rape and violence.
[01:25:49] I bind these demons in them and I command them to go.
[01:25:52] And people get free from them.
[01:25:55] These tormenting, horrible spirits.
[01:25:59] So this is the strong man and a house.
[01:26:02] And so your house could have,
[01:26:03] your house has many rooms.
[01:26:04] That's why I got on the side,
[01:26:05] like the attic there is the spirit,
[01:26:07] the second level is the soul,
[01:26:09] and then you have the body.
[01:26:10] Demons can be in any one of these areas.
[01:26:12] There's teachings out there
[01:26:14] that actually believe in deliverance.
[01:26:15] And I say, well, a demon couldn't be
[01:26:17] in your spirit part of you.
[01:26:18] Oh, yes it can.
[01:26:20] How do I know that?
[01:26:23] Well, I know that
[01:26:25] 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 23 says this,
[01:26:29] I pray God that your whole spirit,
[01:26:32] soul, and body be served blameless
[01:26:35] unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[01:26:38] You have different,
[01:26:39] your spirit, soul, and body is like this.
[01:26:40] And then we're gonna take our break.
[01:26:42] I'm only five minutes behind.
[01:26:45] But your spirit, soul, and body is like this.
[01:26:47] Your spirit is the area where your conscience is.
[01:26:50] That's your ability to discern right and wrong.
[01:26:52] It's the area of your intuition
[01:26:53] where you perceive things in the spirit world.
[01:26:57] It's the area of your unconscious mind,
[01:27:00] your subconscious mind.
[01:27:02] It's the area where you worship.
[01:27:03] It's the area where the gift of tongues
[01:27:07] and the gifts of the spirit operate and flow from.
[01:27:11] But there are people who fool around with, say,
[01:27:14] Eastern meditation or different things like that.
[01:27:16] You can open your spirit up to a demon spirit.
[01:27:20] Now, does that mean you're totally controlled
[01:27:22] in that area?
[01:27:22] No.
[01:27:23] You're starting to defile and taint the house, that room.
[01:27:28] Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions.
[01:27:30] It is the place where you make decisions.
[01:27:33] It is your conscious mind,
[01:27:34] where you're alert and aware.
[01:27:37] Your consciousness, your personality, it's you.
[01:27:40] This is what Satan is after more than anything else.
[01:27:42] And everybody knows a demon can be in the body.
[01:27:45] The spirit of infirmity in the woman, in Luke.
[01:27:48] It was just afflicting her with arthritis,
[01:27:51] severe crippling arthritis.
[01:27:53] And Jesus cast the spirit of infirmity out of her body,
[01:27:56] and she was healed.
[01:27:58] So this is, again, what the scriptures say.
[01:28:03] So what we're gonna do, let's pray real quick.
[01:28:04] I wanna pray over this.
[01:28:07] I cannot stress to you enough though,
[01:28:09] start binding the demons that are attacking you.
[01:28:13] If you're struggling with lust,
[01:28:15] you gotta get in the fight.
[01:28:18] You gotta start binding the demons of lust
[01:28:19] that are attacking you.
[01:28:21] If you're being tempted to come into adultery,
[01:28:22] you need to start binding the spirits of adultery
[01:28:24] that are attacking you.
[01:28:26] If you feel you're getting heavy and oppressed,
[01:28:27] you bind the spirits of heaviness and sorrow and depression.
[01:28:31] Bind the demons and command them to go from you
[01:28:35] because you are being attacked
[01:28:36] from the outside, this oppression.
[01:28:39] I remember the first time I learned this,
[01:28:40] I was going through, all of a sudden,
[01:28:41] I mean, I'm on fire for Jesus,
[01:28:43] filled with the Holy Ghost,
[01:28:44] just joy leading people to the Lord on the street.
[01:28:47] And all of a sudden, this dark cloud comes on me.
[01:28:48] I'm just depressed beyond, for no reason.
[01:28:51] Nothing bad had happened.
[01:28:54] And I'm all this depression and I can't shake it.
[01:28:56] I go in and pray.
[01:28:57] I go, I read my Bible.
[01:28:59] I've put on praise in worship music
[01:29:02] and it still feel this dark, heavy.
[01:29:04] I mean, just so heavy,
[01:29:05] it felt like it was crushing my spirit.
[01:29:08] And I remember reading,
[01:29:09] one of the first things I read about this
[01:29:11] was Kenneth Hagin's little series on dealing with demons.
[01:29:16] And whether you like him or not,
[01:29:17] let me tell you, he had some good stuff.
[01:29:18] But I remember him saying, you gotta speak to him
[01:29:22] and speak to him and rebuke them and command them to go.
[01:29:25] And I remember going, what have I been doing?
[01:29:28] I mean, but I was a baby Christian.
[01:29:29] I was just learning.
[01:29:30] I remember I went to my prayer place and I did that.
[01:29:33] And it was like this huge weight lifted off of me.
[01:29:38] Everything cleared in my mind and my spirit.
[01:29:40] I was like, what?
[01:29:42] How did I not know this?
[01:29:43] How did I not know how to do this?
[01:29:45] But I specifically said,
[01:29:48] I bind the spirit of heaviness, depression, sorrow,
[01:29:52] despair, these spirits.
[01:29:54] I bind you and come and just shut your mouth
[01:29:56] and go for me in the name of Jesus.
[01:29:58] This is how you fight.
[01:30:00] This is how you resist.
[01:30:01] Binding and loosing.
[01:30:03] These are the keys of the kingdom.
[01:30:06] You wanna walk in the kingdom of God?
[01:30:08] These are the keys.
[01:30:11] You will never let go of these keys.
[01:30:13] You will use these keys until Jesus comes and sets it up.
[01:30:19] So let's pray.
