[00:00:10] Alright, good morning everyone. Welcome all of our students, Fire and Grace School of
[00:00:15] Ministry this morning, and this is class number eight. Can a Christian have a
[00:00:20] demon, or can Christian have demons, I should say, spiritual warfare class eight.
[00:00:25] Now I know I've already mentioned this, already talked about this a little bit
[00:00:28] in this part of the series, but I did skip some things. So we're going to
[00:00:34] recover, you know, refresh over the beginning, and get into the rest of it.
[00:00:41] Because this is very important. You need to be able to defend this and answer this
[00:00:47] question, because can a Christian have a demon, or have demons in them? Absolutely.
[00:00:53] I think I can prove that by the scriptures, and by many years of dealing
[00:00:58] with demons and Christians. So let's get started this morning. And Christian, I
[00:01:04] Christian have demons in them. Let's start back where we have started, covered
[00:01:11] this passage. And just so you know, any passage we cover two, three, four times
[00:01:15] will be on your test. So it's imperative to know these verses.
[00:01:22] Ephesians 4, 27, Paul speaking to Christians. He said in Ephesians 1, 1,
[00:01:29] to the saints and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. So in context he's
[00:01:33] speaking to Christians, and then he says neither give place to the devil or do not
[00:01:39] give place to the devil. Now if he has to tell Christians not to do that, that
[00:01:46] means they can do that. You can give the devil place in your life. Spirit, soul,
[00:01:52] or body, you can open a door, and you can give him place. Again, same principle,
[00:01:59] 1 Peter 5, 8, the Apostle Peter by the Holy Spirit speaking to Christians. Says
[00:02:05] again, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary. The devil as a roaring lion
[00:02:11] walketh about seeking whom he may devour. What is he seeking? He's seeking to get
[00:02:16] you to sin or to do something out of ignorance, but he's getting, he wants you
[00:02:22] to open a door to him, break the hedge, give him a legal right in your life. And
[00:02:27] a Christian can do that. Okay, let's look at this verse again. Please, he asked, he's
[00:02:33] ten-eight. He that diggeth the pit shall fall into it, and whoso breaketh a hedge,
[00:02:40] a serpent shall bite him. Of course, Luke 10, 19, Jesus said, behold, I give you
[00:02:46] power over all the power of the enemy, give you power to tread on serpents and
[00:02:51] scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. So serpents and scorpions are
[00:02:55] types of demons. They're a symbol for demon spirits, for the devil, for Satan,
[00:03:03] fallen angels. So he says, whosoever here, whoso breaks the hedge, a serpent shall
[00:03:10] bite him. So it's the same principle, giving place to the devil, opening a door
[00:03:14] for the devil, breaking the hedge. They're all synonymous terms and very
[00:03:20] important to understand. We continue here. As I said last week in this class,
[00:03:26] ignorance is not bliss. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 2 again to the Church of
[00:03:32] Corinth to Christians. He says, lest Satan should get an advantage of us, for
[00:03:37] we are not ignorant of his devices. And I've often said the flip side of that
[00:03:42] coin is if we are ignorant to his devices, he will get an advantage over
[00:03:48] us. So there's because there's a bunch of people walking around in Christianity
[00:03:53] think, okay, I'm a Christian. I'm born again. I've been delivered from the
[00:03:57] kingdom of darkness in essence. And so Satan can't touch me. And it's just not
[00:04:02] true. It's not what the Bible teaches as Hosea 4 6 concurs with what Paul wrote
[00:04:08] in 2 Corinthians. He says here, my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, not
[00:04:15] those outside of the blood covenant of God Almighty. But he says my
[00:04:21] people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Very important to understand.
[00:04:27] Ignorance to the devil's devices, the weapons of his warfare that he uses
[00:04:33] against us, the ways that he can gain advantage, the ways that he can break,
[00:04:37] you know, get through the hedge or the door. Very important for us to understand
[00:04:43] because we are in a battle. And we started off this spiritual warfare class
[00:04:50] or, you know, this whole semester with a class talking about know your enemy. Very
[00:04:55] important to know your enemy, how he operates, how he works. But to sit around
[00:05:00] and be oblivious. I mean, if you actually believe a lie that your enemy cannot
[00:05:05] touch you in any way or he can't get through in any way, and he can,
[00:05:10] you're at a terrible disadvantage in a battle because really your pride, your
[00:05:16] arrogance, or your ignorance, one of the three or all of the three are going to get
[00:05:20] you in trouble. Of course, that's what Sun Tzu says. Your enemy is overconfident
[00:05:27] or you're overconfident and you don't know your enemy, you're going to be in
[00:05:31] trouble, right? So that's the principles we've been covering. Now we're going
[00:05:37] to cover this here again. I said this earlier in an earlier class, but I'm going
[00:05:41] to say it again and again and again. Ninety eight percent of the time you're
[00:05:48] not going to be casting demons out of an unsaved person. There's only two
[00:05:52] exceptions to that rule, and I've told you what that is. A person so demon
[00:05:57] possessed that they're not in their right mind enough even to accept the
[00:06:00] Lord and you're just trying to get them to a place where they can hear and
[00:06:03] understand the gospel from. I've had to do that on a couple of occasions, but
[00:06:07] it's a rare situation that you would do that, all right? That you would actually
[00:06:12] cast demons out of an unbeliever who's so totally demon possessed that they can't
[00:06:17] even think or function. And it's okay to do that as long as you're prepared to try
[00:06:23] to lead them the rest of the way to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and
[00:06:27] be born again and get their house filled with Him or they're going to be
[00:06:30] in trouble. Why? Because here's what this verse says, this passage, Jesus
[00:06:34] speaking here in Matthew 12 43 through 45, He says,
[00:06:38] When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man. Let me tell you, they don't go out
[00:06:43] willingly. They only leave when they are cast out commanded to leave in the name
[00:06:48] of Jesus Christ by a true born-again believer. So when the unclean spirit is
[00:06:53] gone out of a man, he walking through dry places seeking rest and findeth none,
[00:06:57] then he sayeth, I will return into my house from whence I came out and when
[00:07:02] he has come, he findeth it empty, swept and garnished, and then goeth he and
[00:07:06] takeeth with himself seven other spirits. Yes, seven more. Look, here they
[00:07:12] come. Little devils, here they come, seven more. So when he comes back he
[00:07:19] finds the house empty, swept and garnished, then this evil spirit takes
[00:07:26] with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself and they enter in
[00:07:29] and dwell there. And the last state of that man is worse than the first. So if
[00:07:35] you go around casting demons out of unsaved people, yes, the demons will go
[00:07:40] because as a born-again believer, when you bind them in Jesus' name and command
[00:07:45] them to leave, they have to leave. But if the house, and that's why the house
[00:07:50] is swept and garnished, the house gets cleaned out of unclean spirits when
[00:07:55] you take somebody through deliverance. But if they do not have the house filled, if
[00:08:02] Jesus is not in them, the spirit of Jesus Christ, his Holy Spirit in them
[00:08:07] because they are born again through faith in Jesus and truly regenerated, truly
[00:08:16] saved, then the house will be empty and they will be in a worse situation. You're
[00:08:21] gonna make matters worse. Now I have seen this also work with people that, you know,
[00:08:28] were Christians and had a lot of demonic strongholds in their lives from their
[00:08:33] past, go through deliverance, be completely changed. I mean, I know one
[00:08:38] fellow, hundreds of demons went out of this guy, hundreds. He was so messed up
[00:08:43] in so many ways, right? And he got free, he got free from them. But then later on
[00:08:49] he ends up back in sexual sin. And let me tell you, when he opened the door again,
[00:08:53] this seven times thing happened to him. And he became worse than he was before
[00:09:02] and where he had just experimented to with drugs before he became addicted to
[00:09:07] drugs. So this is not a game. This is why I tell people, you need to be very
[00:09:13] careful with this. And I said there were two exceptions. One is a person so demon
[00:09:17] possessed that they can't function. You're just trying to get them a place
[00:09:19] where they can hear the gospel. And the other is a child that's under the age of
[00:09:24] accountability, but even then you have to have the permission and the faith of the
[00:09:28] parents to do that. Alright, so let's keep going. Now, 1 Corinthians 10, 19, and 20.
[00:09:36] Now remember again, this was written to the Corinthian church. Two born-again
[00:09:41] Christians, spirit-filled Christians. In fact, Paul told them they came behind in
[00:09:46] no gift, meaning all the gifts of the Holy Spirit operated in the church
[00:09:50] of Corinth. So they were not only a born-again true Christian church, but
[00:09:56] they were Holy Ghost-filled and operated in the gifts of the Spirit. But there
[00:10:00] were issues. They had problems. They had compromise. They had a lot of issues with
[00:10:04] sin. And he said even one with compromising with the religions around
[00:10:11] them, the idolatry and the paganism around them. And Paul's trying to explain
[00:10:18] to them why they shouldn't eat things sacrificed to idols, why they shouldn't
[00:10:22] participate in these things. And so what does he tell them? He says, what say I then?
[00:10:26] That the idol is anything or that which is offered and sacrificed to idols is
[00:10:30] anything. But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they
[00:10:35] sacrifice to devils or demons and not to God. And I would not that you should
[00:10:42] have fellowship with devils. Now Paul is saying here, he's not just talking about
[00:10:48] being around demons or being in the same location where some kind of idolatry or
[00:10:54] pagan ritual is going on. He's saying if you go do this, you're gonna have
[00:10:59] fellowship with devils. This word fellowship, I mentioned this in the last
[00:11:04] couple of weeks, but I'm gonna dig into it a little further because I want you
[00:11:07] to see it, not just hear me say it. But this word fellowship here is the Greek
[00:11:13] word koinonos there, koinonos, all right? And it means a sharer, an
[00:11:22] associate, a companion, fellowship, partaker. Of course it talks about
[00:11:29] partnership, association, sharing and anything of the altar in Jerusalem which
[00:11:36] the sacrifices are offered, sharing in the worship, partaker of, listen to this right
[00:11:40] here, see, be partaker of or with demons brought into fellowship with them
[00:11:45] because they are authors of heathen worship. Now you could say again, you
[00:11:50] could say, well this just means you're getting, you're closely associating with
[00:11:54] them, you know, Pastor Dean, this is not, I'm not opening the door for them, they're
[00:11:58] not coming in. But when you look at how this word is used, and this is how
[00:12:02] you study the Bible, you look at how it is used. So you have 2 Peter 1 here, and
[00:12:10] let's look at this. It says, Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ
[00:12:16] to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness
[00:12:20] of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. So who's he writing to? Christians, right? He
[00:12:26] says, grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and
[00:12:29] of Jesus our Lord according as his divine power hath given unto us all
[00:12:34] things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of him
[00:12:37] that have called us to glory and virtue whereby are given unto us exceeding
[00:12:43] great and precious promises. Now look at this, that by these you might be
[00:12:49] partakers of the divine nature. Say, partakers of the divine nature, having
[00:12:58] escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. The word partakers
[00:13:01] here, guess what it is? See, we're born again, right? We're regenerated, infused
[00:13:10] with God's life by his Holy Spirit when we are saved and we are, we become
[00:13:15] partakers of the divine nature. It's the same word. It's the exact same word
[00:13:23] that we just read in 1 Corinthians 20 when it says, what? Being fellowship
[00:13:31] with devils. Same word. All right, we'll see that in a second. Here's another one,
[00:13:35] just so you know, the word communion here, but we're gonna read this. He says, for we
[00:13:40] are glad, 2 Corinthians 13 9 through 14, for we are glad when we are weak and
[00:13:46] you're strong in this also we wish even for your perfection or maturity.
[00:13:50] Therefore, right out of these things, be an absent, let's be in present, I should
[00:13:54] use sharpness according to the power which the Lord has given me to
[00:13:57] edification and not to destruction. Finally, brethren, farewell, be perfect, be
[00:14:02] of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace
[00:14:07] shall be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss, all the saints salute you,
[00:14:12] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of
[00:14:17] the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. Communion with the Holy Ghost. Guess
[00:14:23] what? Same Greek word. Let's look at it here. All right, here is communion. It is the
[00:14:32] word, if you'll notice, the similar, koinonia. It's another word, the root
[00:14:38] word, koinononos. I guess how you say it, this koinonia. That's
[00:14:44] how you say this one really. And again, it's the same basic Greek word,
[00:14:50] same root word, all right? And so he's saying here, fellowship, association,
[00:14:55] partnership, social intercourse, communion. So he's saying here, now listen, how do we
[00:15:03] have, how do we, if Christians, have communion with the Holy Spirit? Is that
[00:15:08] just outward, an outward thing, or is that an inward thing? Is that something
[00:15:13] that happens in our spirit, in our soul? Yeah, see, it's a spiritual thing. And so
[00:15:18] what I'm getting at is that what the Apostle Paul was talking about to the
[00:15:22] Corinthians, he was warning them. If you go and you participate in these idolatrous
[00:15:28] practices, then you're having fellowship with devils the same way you have
[00:15:33] fellowship with the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit didn't just come on you, it
[00:15:37] came in you, all right? So the warning, I'm just making it clear, the warning to
[00:15:41] Christians. You play games, you open the door through sin, whether it be
[00:15:45] idolatry, fornication, adultery, sexual immorality of some kind, drugs,
[00:15:50] witchcraft, any of the doorways we covered last week, a Christian can open and you
[00:15:56] can have a demonic stronghold in it, okay? Just the way you open the door and let
[00:16:01] the Holy Spirit come in through faith in Jesus, all right? Now let's look at this
[00:16:06] again because I want to make the point again that there are different degrees
[00:16:11] of demonic possession or demonic infiltration, strongholds in a person's
[00:16:20] life. Just because a Christian opens a doorway for a demon to come in them, it
[00:16:24] doesn't mean that they're totally possessed, out of control, have no
[00:16:29] self-control or no ability. They're not Linda Blair, they're not, you know,
[00:16:33] they're degrees of this thing. And again, the demons consider you a
[00:16:39] temple, a house, and a house has multiple rooms. And just because you may
[00:16:44] open the door and have a stronghold in one room doesn't mean the whole house
[00:16:48] is possessed and controlled and filled. Matthew 8, 16 and 17, when the even was
[00:16:54] come they brought unto him unto Jesus many that were possessed with devils and
[00:16:58] he cast out the spirits with his word and he healed all that were sick that it
[00:17:02] might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying himself took
[00:17:06] our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. So possessed here, possessed means to be
[00:17:14] under the power of a demon. Possessed with devils, possessed with a devil, of
[00:17:20] devils, vexed with a devil, have a devil. To be exercised by a demon, be vexed, be
[00:17:27] possessed. So the word vexed of course means tormented and believe me I know a
[00:17:34] lot of tormented Christians. The Thayer's goes on to say the same thing, to be
[00:17:39] under the power of a demon. There's that and I have listed this. We're not
[00:17:46] going to go back through these again as we covered them a couple of weeks ago
[00:17:49] but there are three degrees, I believe in the Bible, in the New Testament, three
[00:17:54] degrees of demon possession or vexation, infiltration, strongholds. We have Luke
[00:18:03] 13, 11 through 17, a daughter of Abraham had one demon. That's what the Bible
[00:18:09] says. Jesus cast that demon out and she was healed of her infirmity and he
[00:18:13] said she was a daughter of Abraham meaning she was under the blood
[00:18:15] covenant. Very important to remember we're going to cover that thoroughly
[00:18:18] today. You know when Jesus said I was not sent but to the law sheep of the house
[00:18:22] of Israel, he didn't mean that in a blanket statement forever. That's what
[00:18:25] the Torah people say. But he was saying I'm not sent to do my ministry of
[00:18:30] healing and deliverance but to the law sheep of the house of Israel until he
[00:18:35] would go and pay the price and shed his blood for the sins of all mankind. So
[00:18:39] very important. I'll cover that more in just a second but back to the three
[00:18:43] degrees here of demon possession. Number one, a daughter of Abraham had one demon
[00:18:48] Luke 13, 11 through 17. Mary Magdalene had seven demons leave her. That's recorded
[00:18:53] in Luke 8, 1 through 3. And the Gadarene man had a legion of demons minimum of
[00:19:00] 2,000 in him, Mark chapter 5. So you see that there are degrees and we've got to
[00:19:10] stop thinking in our minds letting Hollywood place in us what we believe or
[00:19:17] the image or the picture we have of what it means to have a demon. There are
[00:19:23] different degrees of it but let me just say this. One demon in you is one demon
[00:19:29] too many. You hear me? Because they can cause you a lot of problems mentally,
[00:19:34] emotionally, physically, spiritually. If you have a demon stronghold in you
[00:19:40] operating from within, whether it be spirit, soul, or body, if they're
[00:19:44] operating from within they can cause you a lot of problems as a Christian, all
[00:19:49] right? And so that's why it's important to recognize them, discern them, find the
[00:19:54] doorway, if it's sin, repent of the sin, ask for forgiveness, and then bind the
[00:19:59] demon or the specific spirits dealing with that issue, that area, and cast
[00:20:05] them out in Jesus name. Very important. And this is my illustration. That's the
[00:20:11] one demon in the house. Does the house look totally controlled or possessed or
[00:20:15] filled? No, it's just got one. That was the daughter of Abraham in Luke 13. Here
[00:20:23] you got a few more demons in the house. Still house not in terrible shape but
[00:20:28] bad enough. Like I said, think about it. You got one bad tenant. If they're a bad
[00:20:34] tenant, give them a little time. They'll wreck the whole place. Ask anybody that's
[00:20:41] ever rented property. And of course this is the gathering demoniac but not
[00:20:49] even close, you know. This is not even a hundred demons in here but you get the
[00:20:54] illustration, the picture here. Y'all like my little demons I found? All right.
[00:20:59] Three things we need to understand, all right, as we're gonna go through this
[00:21:04] because the Bible spells out those different types and shadows that we
[00:21:08] learn from the Old Testament that are pictures of things that are New Testament
[00:21:12] reality. So number one, the things that happen unto them in the Old Testament
[00:21:16] are examples unto us in the New Covenant. Number two, many things that
[00:21:22] actually happen in the Old Testament are types, shadows, and allegories of New
[00:21:26] Testament truth, i.e. the first Passover. Number three, the Lord Jesus was
[00:21:31] ministering under the Old Testament as He was establishing the New. Please let
[00:21:36] that sink in as we get into our study this morning. Jesus was operating
[00:21:42] ministering under the Old Testament as He was in the process of establishing the
[00:21:48] New. This is what the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the scribes and the
[00:21:52] lawyers couldn't seem to get a hold of. But so when Jesus ministered to the
[00:21:56] Israelites, He was ministering to blood covenant children of God. Just remember
[00:22:01] that. The Old Testament, until Jesus says it is finished on the cross, now He shed
[00:22:08] His blood on the cross for our sins, His holy sinless, spotless blood, the New
[00:22:13] Covenant was not instituted yet. So when He was operating, He was operating under
[00:22:20] the Old Covenant. But that's why He said, I'm not sent but to the
[00:22:25] Lawsheep of the House of Israel, particularly for healing and
[00:22:28] deliverance, because He knew if He went outside of that to the Gentiles who had
[00:22:35] no blood covenant with with God, they would not be able to stay free from the
[00:22:41] demons. They would be worse. This is this is again same principle. This is I'm
[00:22:49] telling you why He said what He said in Matthew 12 about when the unclean
[00:22:54] spirit's gone out of a man, right? And I'm telling you why He said I'm not
[00:22:59] sent but to the Lawsheep of the House of Israel. Very important. And you're going
[00:23:02] to see this played out in a minute. But let's look at some of the types and
[00:23:05] shadows first. We ran through them a couple of weeks ago, but we're going to
[00:23:10] slow down a little bit. So here He, 1 Corinthians 10, and this is the same
[00:23:14] chapter, of course, where Paul was telling the Corinthians not to
[00:23:17] participate in the sin of idolatry, or they would be having fellowship with
[00:23:22] devils. Right before that, he gives them these examples. He gives them this
[00:23:26] teaching here. So 1 Corinthians 10, 1 through 6,
[00:23:29] more of a brother, and I would not that you should be ignorant, now that all of our
[00:23:33] fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the sea, and were all
[00:23:37] baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and did all eat the same
[00:23:40] spiritual meat, and did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of
[00:23:44] that spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ. Notice, this
[00:23:49] is some wild stuff, but he didn't say that rock was a type of Christ or an
[00:23:55] image or a symbol. He says that rock was Christ. So the rock that the water came
[00:24:01] out of, he said, was a manifestation of Jesus Himself. But with many of them, he
[00:24:08] goes on to say, talking about the children of Israel in the wilderness,
[00:24:10] God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these
[00:24:14] things were our examples. They're examples to us, meaning we should learn
[00:24:23] from these things that happened to them. Of course, putting them into a New
[00:24:28] Testament, New Covenant context, but we should learn from these examples. To the
[00:24:33] intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. So
[00:24:38] what he's saying is, let's learn the principle, right? But let's continue
[00:24:42] reading this passage first, because it goes on. Verses 7 through 12, he says,
[00:24:47] neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them, as it is written, that people
[00:24:52] sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication,
[00:24:57] sexual immorality, and really fornication, cornea covers all sexual
[00:25:04] immorality. It's a very broad term, as well as it covers spiritual idolatry as
[00:25:11] well. He said, as some of them also committed and failed in one day, three
[00:25:15] and twenty thousand. Then he says this, neither let us tempt Christ, as some of
[00:25:21] them also tempted and were destroyed of serpents. So remember when they disobeyed
[00:25:26] God in the wilderness and got into fornication with the pagan women of
[00:25:31] Bell Peor or whatever it was, and it says here that God sent the fiery
[00:25:38] serpents among them. What is that? What is that a type or shadow a picture to us?
[00:25:44] If we open the door through what? Idolatry and fornication and tempting
[00:25:48] the Lord, what? We will be destroyed of serpents. What are serpents in the New
[00:25:55] Covenant? Demons, devils, exactly. Remember, see, that's how we take Old Testament
[00:26:01] truth, put it into New Testament context, very important. He says neither murmur
[00:26:06] ye as some of them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer. Who's the
[00:26:09] destroyer? The devil, right? Now all these things happen under them. For
[00:26:15] examples, meaning learn from this, these are examples to us and they are written
[00:26:21] for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come, wherefore let him that
[00:26:26] thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. So here God's telling us through
[00:26:32] what happened to them in the wilderness, the Apostle Paul's writing this to
[00:26:35] Christians, and he says if you open the door through idolatry, fornication,
[00:26:42] through sin, you're going to be destroyed of serpents and the destroyer. Real simple,
[00:26:51] isn't it? Right? And what was happening to the people? They were being bitten by
[00:26:56] serpents. Well, didn't we read a verse about that a minute ago? Whosoever breaks
[00:27:01] the hedge, what? Serpent will bind it, right? Alright, very important. Now let's
[00:27:08] let's remember this, an example. Here's the word example means of a type, a
[00:27:14] person, a thing, prefiguring, a future, messianic person or thing. I love it,
[00:27:19] example, print, figure, pattern, fashion, just letting you know. These things are our
[00:27:27] examples. So let's look, let's break down the the types and shadows coming
[00:27:34] through. Remember I said like the Passover. Alright, Exodus 12, 12 through 13, for I
[00:27:40] will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the first
[00:27:43] born in the land of Egypt both man and beast and against all the gods of Egypt I
[00:27:46] will execute judgment. I am the Lord and the blood shall be to you for a token
[00:27:52] upon the houses where you are and when I see the blood I will pass over you and
[00:27:56] the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of
[00:28:00] Egypt. So the children of Israel coming out of Egypt after they put the blood
[00:28:05] of the lamb on the doorpost, that's a type, a shadow, a picture of our
[00:28:11] salvation when we come out of the world, when we come out of our slavery and
[00:28:16] bondage to sin and to Satan and the world system through faith in the blood of
[00:28:20] Jesus and then we get to leave that slavery, that world. So that's a
[00:28:26] type and shadow from the Old Testament of salvation through Jesus through his
[00:28:30] blood. Then we have the two baptisms spoken of in that verse in 1st
[00:28:36] Corinthians 10, 1 and 2 that we read a minute ago, water baptism and the
[00:28:41] Holy Spirit. In fact, Hebrews chapter 6 when it's laying out the foundational
[00:28:47] doctrines of Christ says of the doctrine of baptisms, plural. As a Christian
[00:28:53] there's multiple baptisms. There's actually three, baptism of water, baptism
[00:28:59] in the Holy Spirit that is evidenced by the gift of speaking in other tongues
[00:29:02] and then the baptism of fire which has to do with sanctification. I think
[00:29:08] we've covered that already, but let's look at this. So we have the type and
[00:29:11] shadow of them coming, the example of them coming out of Egypt by the blood
[00:29:14] of the lamb, out of slavery, out of the world system and then we have this when
[00:29:19] they go through the Red Sea and the cloud of God appears, his presence
[00:29:24] appears, from over brother and I would not that you should be ignorant how that all of
[00:29:27] our fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the sea and were all
[00:29:32] baptized unto Moses in the cloud. Everybody say, in the cloud, familiar y'all,
[00:29:37] in the cloud and in the sea, baptized in the cloud and in the sea. The sea was the
[00:29:43] water, the cloud was the presence of God, the manifestation of his Holy Spirit. So
[00:29:48] he's saying there's two baptisms. Did we find that in the New Testament?
[00:29:52] Absolutely. After you're born again, after you're saved, you should be
[00:29:55] baptized in water as a testimony of your faith, as an open public
[00:30:01] confession. Remember Jesus said, if you don't confess me before man, I will not
[00:30:04] confess you before my father. Baptism, that's what baptism is about. But the
[00:30:09] real baptism we need more than anything is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and
[00:30:12] that was Acts chapter 2, Acts 10, Acts 19. They were baptized and filled with the
[00:30:17] Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. That
[00:30:21] was the beginning of the operation of the power of God and the gifts of the
[00:30:25] Holy Spirit in our life. It is a second experience aside from salvation that
[00:30:29] everyone, every Christian should seek and can have, but some choose not to. And
[00:30:36] that's, you know, it's not a salvation issue, but it is important. You need that
[00:30:42] power, all right? You need more power. I don't know any Christian. I don't know
[00:30:46] why any Christian would say, I don't need, I'm good. I don't need anymore. I
[00:30:49] just don't have that, that, you know, confidence in myself. You know, in fact,
[00:30:58] that's what the lukewarm Christians said. Remember Jesus speaking to the
[00:31:02] church of Laodicea and they said, we're rich and increased with goods and have
[00:31:05] need of nothing. We're good. No, you're not. He said, your eyes are blind. You
[00:31:10] need, you need the anointing, the eye sal, you need more of the Holy
[00:31:14] Spirit so you can see. You're a bunch of blind Christians. What do we have
[00:31:17] that today, right? But anyway, two baptisms. So that's a type in shadow. So
[00:31:22] we've got salvation, baptism in water, which is the baptism of repentance, and
[00:31:27] then the baptism, the Holy Spirit, which is the power of the Holy Spirit, the
[00:31:31] gifts of the Holy Spirit beginning in our life. And then we have this other
[00:31:37] little type in shadow because remember I said before, for years and years and
[00:31:41] years, a lot of the old hymns, a lot of the old preachers and would say
[00:31:46] that, you know, well, we're going into the Promised Land. That's heaven. One
[00:31:52] day we're going to cross over that Jordan. And just not. It's just a bad
[00:32:01] interpretation, right? What was it? I love what the Grinch said about Cindy
[00:32:08] Lou who was in the Grinch movie when he said, good kid, bad judge of
[00:32:13] care, right? We got a bunch of good kids, but they just got bad hermeneutics.
[00:32:17] All right. The reason that going into the Promised Land was not a type in
[00:32:24] shadow of going into heaven is because once they spied out the land, they
[00:32:29] discovered that there were the Giants there, the half-breeds, the fallen angel,
[00:32:38] human being, mutants. And so the Promised Land was not a type or shadow of
[00:32:46] heaven. And we're going to read Numbers 13, 27 through 28, and 32 and 33.
[00:32:53] And they told him and said, we came into the land with it thou sinneth us,
[00:32:56] and surely it floweth with milk and honey. And this is the fruit of it.
[00:33:00] Nevertheless, the people be strong that dwell in the land. And the cities
[00:33:05] are walled and very great and over. We saw the children of Anak there. And
[00:33:10] they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched into the
[00:33:13] children of Israel saying, the land through which we have gone to search it
[00:33:17] is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof. And all the people that we saw
[00:33:21] in it are men of great stature. And we saw the Giants, the sons of Anak,
[00:33:26] which come to the Giants. And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers. And so
[00:33:32] we were in their sight. So they had to go into the Promised Land and clean
[00:33:38] it out. This is really a type and shadow of deliverance after we've come
[00:33:45] out of Egypt by the blood of the land, after we've come through water
[00:33:49] baptism, after we've come through Holy Spirit baptism. The going into the
[00:33:55] Promised Land is where we tear down the strongholds and drive out the evil
[00:33:58] inhabitants of our land. Everybody catch that? Another picture. Whose land
[00:34:07] was it? It's a God's land, right? But who did He give it to? He gave it to
[00:34:14] the people, right? The children of Israel. Those in blood covenant with Him. What is
[00:34:19] our bodies? Our bodies the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are not our own.
[00:34:22] We're bought with the price, right? But who's He given it to to take care of?
[00:34:26] Us, right? So we have responsibility over it, but it's really God's. Well the
[00:34:34] land was really God's, but He'd given them responsibility over it. He'd given it
[00:34:37] to them and they were to go in and tear down the strongholds like Jericho and
[00:34:42] drive out the inhabitants of the land that were evil and wicked and half
[00:34:48] breeds and not fully human, all right? And it was their failure to not complete
[00:34:55] this task that brought great trouble upon them, all right? Let's keep going
[00:35:04] here. See? Israel failed to drive out the Canaanites out of the Promised Land.
[00:35:09] Now this is what will happen if you don't drive out all of the demonic squatters in
[00:35:16] your own life from the past, okay? Or from the present if you've opened doors or
[00:35:22] done things out of ignorance, broken the hedge. But look at here. Judges 1, 28,
[00:35:28] it came to pass when Israel was strong that they put the Canaanites to
[00:35:32] tribute and did not utterly drive them out. The Word of the Lord to them was
[00:35:37] drive them out of your land, not let them stay, not make peace with them, not just
[00:35:51] say, oh you know what, they can't touch me, they can't harm me. That's not the
[00:36:00] issue. The issue is obedience. Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of
[00:36:08] the flesh and spirit. Why would any of us make peace with demonic forces in
[00:36:14] our land when God told us not to, okay? So he goes on to say, and Judges 2, that was
[00:36:25] Judges 1, 28, Judges 2, 1 through 3 says the angel of the Lord came up from
[00:36:31] Gilgal to Boqim and said, I made you go up out of Egypt and have brought you
[00:36:36] into the land which I swear unto your fathers and I said I will never break my
[00:36:39] covenant with you and you shall make no league, no covenant, no peace
[00:36:45] agreement, no we'll just get along. You'll make no league with the inhabitants of
[00:36:51] this land, you shall throw down their altars, their strongholds, their, right, but
[00:36:58] you have not obeyed my voice. Why have you done this? Wherefore I also said I
[00:37:06] will not drive them out from before you and basically this is God saying I'm
[00:37:09] not going to do it for you, I told you to do it. Uh-oh. Remember Jesus said
[00:37:15] something in my name, what? In my name I will cast demons out for you. Now that's
[00:37:21] not what he said in Mark 16. He said in my name you cast out them. These signs
[00:37:28] will follow them that believe. So he said I'm not doing this for you, but they
[00:37:36] shall be as thorns in your sides and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
[00:37:40] Now what are their gods? Demons. So there's nothing you know, it's not just, it
[00:37:47] wasn't just, even back then, even under the Old Testament, it wasn't just a
[00:37:51] physical thing. It was a spiritual issue that they were going to have problems
[00:37:58] with from then on and it was, let me tell you, we don't even have time. Just read
[00:38:06] the rest of the book of Judges. Things were never good, man. It was a bad
[00:38:12] season. Several centuries there. 2 Corinthians 6, 13 through 18. Now let's
[00:38:19] look at this. When you start talking about Christians having demons, of course
[00:38:23] the first argument you're going to hear is this one right here. Well, how can
[00:38:30] light and dark dwell in the same place, same time? Let me tell you something right over there.
[00:38:39] Up under Kevin's little high and lifted up sound booth. Right? Are the lights on
[00:38:46] in here, gentlemen? Lights on in here, right? But under that sound booth right
[00:38:51] there that's in the same room we're in, it's completely dark in there. Why?
[00:38:55] There's no light in there. So that could be said that they're under there, under
[00:38:59] that little booth, there's a little stronghold of darkness, not spiritual
[00:39:05] darkness. We're just using illustration. So in the same room there's darkness
[00:39:09] and light, right? So this argument holds zero water because of the very fact
[00:39:18] too, that's what? He's speaking to Christians and he's saying don't do
[00:39:25] this because they were already doing this. This is 2nd Corinthians and he's
[00:39:33] already been rebuking them about sexual immorality, compromising with that, and
[00:39:38] idolatry. He even told them that some of them were taking the Lord's Supper in,
[00:39:44] you know, eating and drinking damnation to themselves because they were doing it
[00:39:48] unworthily because they were living in sin and compromise. And yeah, they had
[00:39:53] problems in Corinth with sexual sin among Christians and participating in idolatrous
[00:40:00] worship. And so he's trying to tell them again here, you as children of the
[00:40:08] light should not be messing with the darkness, right? That's what this is
[00:40:12] saying. Has nothing to do with saying a Christian can't have a demon, yet this
[00:40:16] is what people do. It's called taking something out of context and misusing
[00:40:23] it. It's called bad hermeneutics and they hate it. Okay, well let's read it.
[00:40:29] 2nd Corinthians 6, 13 through 18, light and darkness questions, right? Now, for a
[00:40:34] recompense in the same I speak as unto my children, be ye also enlarge, be ye not
[00:40:41] unequally yoked together with unbelievers? For what fellowship hath
[00:40:46] righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion hath light with darkness?
[00:40:49] What concord has Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an
[00:40:54] infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are
[00:40:59] the temple of the living God. I say it said I will dwell in them and walk in
[00:41:03] them and I will be their God and they shall be my people. Now before I finish
[00:41:06] reading this, remember 1st Corinthians we just read, they were already doing this.
[00:41:11] He was telling them, if you go do these things, and some of you are, you go
[00:41:18] to these idol altars with these heathens, you're fellowshipping with devils.
[00:41:25] He's trying to tell them, stop it. Stop doing it. And that's why he says,
[00:41:31] wherefore come out from among them? And be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
[00:41:36] not the unclean thing, and I will receive you, and I will be a father unto
[00:41:41] you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Almighty. So that's
[00:41:47] one reason that the light and darkness argument against a Christian having a
[00:41:51] demon holds no water. Here's another reason. God is omnipresent. What does that
[00:41:57] mean? He's everywhere, all the time is what that means. So if light and
[00:42:04] darkness cannot exist in the same place, then Satan or his demons cannot exist at
[00:42:08] all. So just like in this room right here, physical light exists here in the
[00:42:13] sanctuary, but in that place, in that storage spot underneath the sound booth,
[00:42:19] is some darkness there. Unless, of course, we open the door and let the light in,
[00:42:24] right? Kevin's got it under his feet, though. Good point. But you get what I'm
[00:42:34] saying. If God is everywhere, and you say God and the devil or demons can't be
[00:42:40] in the same place at the same time, then they couldn't exist anywhere,
[00:42:44] because God is everywhere. His presence is everywhere, because David said it here
[00:42:48] in Psalm 139. He said, Whether shall I go from thy spirit, or whether shall I flee
[00:42:55] from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there. If I make my bed
[00:43:00] in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in
[00:43:03] the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy
[00:43:07] right hand shall hold me. If I say surely the darkness shall cover me, even
[00:43:11] the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness heighteth not from thee, but
[00:43:16] the night shineth as the day, and the darkness and the light are both alike to
[00:43:20] thee. So again, we see in Job 1 and 2, Satan came into heaven in the presence
[00:43:25] of God to petition for Job. So God allows this. He allows this
[00:43:33] coexistence in his creation. It would always be that way, but he allows it now
[00:43:41] for his purpose, or I should say purposes. And he will allow both demonic forces and
[00:43:52] his Holy Spirit to be in a person so that they will learn how to fight, so
[00:43:59] that they will obey his word and his principle and drive the evil inhabitants
[00:44:04] out of their land and possess their Promised Land and live in peace. All
[00:44:11] right, but it takes warfare to do that. Here's the reference in Job, just so
[00:44:17] you don't hear me just say it. But Job 1, 6 through 12, now there was a day when the
[00:44:25] sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also
[00:44:28] among them. So here's another reference to the sons of God being angels. And Satan,
[00:44:33] joining in, they present themselves before the Lord at his throne. And the Lord
[00:44:39] said unto Satan, Whence cometh thou? Then Satan answered the Lord. He said,
[00:44:43] From going to and fro in the earth. So they're not in the earth. Satan said,
[00:44:48] I've been going to and fro in the earth, but now where is he if he's not in the
[00:44:51] earth? He's standing in heaven, right? He's allowed to present himself before
[00:44:57] the Lord, standing up there on top of the firmament, where he's always wanted
[00:45:01] to go. I guess he just, let me see this place again, huh? Right? So Satan
[00:45:07] answered the Lord, Where have you been? Going to and fro in the earth, from
[00:45:11] walking up and down in it. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my
[00:45:15] servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man,
[00:45:20] one that feareth God and sheweth evil. And Satan answered the Lord and said,
[00:45:23] Doth Job fear God for naught or for nothing? Hast thou not made a hedge about
[00:45:29] him and about his house and all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed
[00:45:32] the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land, but put forth
[00:45:37] thy hand now and touch all that he hath and he will curse thee to thy face.
[00:45:41] And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power, only
[00:45:44] upon himself put naught forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the
[00:45:50] presence of the Lord, standing right before him. I've asked people, Do you
[00:45:57] think there might have been any of God's glory, power, spirit at his
[00:46:03] throne? How in the world could Satan and the Lord exist in the same place
[00:46:09] at the same time? You see how that argument, it just falls apart. When you
[00:46:13] do what? Look at the rest of the Bible. Scripture with Scripture. Exactly. Not
[00:46:20] just pulling one thing out of context and making it a doctrine. There's
[00:46:26] Satan at the throne, petitioning Job, the little angel of light with his
[00:46:31] little horns. Now let's look at the type and shadow. Remember we
[00:46:39] cover types and shadows. Egypt, the Red Sea, the water baptism, the cloud of
[00:46:45] God's presence, the Holy Spirit baptism, the driving out of the promised land. Well
[00:46:49] does not the Bible say we're the temple of the Holy Ghost, right? Right? So Solomon,
[00:46:56] God had Solomon build this temple and this gives you a little breakdown of
[00:47:01] what it looks like. It was just a bigger version of the, you know, the
[00:47:05] tabernacle of the ten in the wilderness. But it had an outer court which had the
[00:47:10] brazen laver, the brazen altar where they offered the burnt sacrifices. Then
[00:47:16] you had the first veil that went into the holy place where the candle menorahs
[00:47:22] were and the table of showbread and of course the altar of incense right before
[00:47:26] the veil, the main veil into the holy of holies. So you had this Solomon's
[00:47:32] temple and it basically had three compartments. Outer court, inner court,
[00:47:38] holy of holies. Well guess what that's a picture of? Human being. Our outer court
[00:47:43] is the human body, our physical body. The holy place where we minister to the Lord
[00:47:51] is the soul, the holy of holies, the spirit. We're a temple of the Holy Spirit.
[00:47:58] That's why it had three parts. We have three parts. One temple, okay? Alright, now
[00:48:05] let's look at Solomon's temple. The presence of God came down in this
[00:48:09] temple on the day that Solomon dedicated the temple was 964 B.C. And it says that
[00:48:19] the priests brought in the Ark of the covenant of the Lord unto his place into
[00:48:24] the oracle of the house to the Most Holy Place even under the wings of the
[00:48:29] cherubims and it came to pass that when the priests were come out of the holy
[00:48:33] place that the cloud filled the house of the Lord so that the priests could not
[00:48:36] stand to minister because the cloud for the glory of the Lord had filled the
[00:48:39] house of the Lord. So God's presence comes into the temple into the holy of
[00:48:45] holies and dwells there. God has his glory, his presence manifest, evident, seen,
[00:48:55] witnessed. And remember the high priest would go into that place one time a
[00:49:00] year on the day of atonement to make atonement for the sins of the whole
[00:49:05] nation with the blood of sacrifice. Now the presence of God comes in so here we
[00:49:14] have now let's read this you got 2 Chronicles 33 1 through 7 we're gonna
[00:49:19] look at so we got the temple and here's the another little schematic I
[00:49:24] guess you could say a little model of it but let's read this 2 Chronicles 33
[00:49:31] 1 through 7 Manasseh who was an evil king Manasseh was 12 years old when he
[00:49:37] began to reign and he reigned 50 and 5 years in Jerusalem so Manasseh reign 55
[00:49:43] years but did that which was evil in the side of the Lord like unto the
[00:49:47] abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of
[00:49:52] Israel for he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had
[00:49:55] broken down and he reared up the altars from Balaam and made groves that's to
[00:50:00] asterisk or the goddess of fertility and worshiped all the host of heaven the sun
[00:50:08] moon and stars kind of like these heliocentric pastors right oh shouldn't
[00:50:13] have said that also he built altars in the house of the Lord maybe like a globe
[00:50:18] in there and it says he built altars through all the host of heaven in the
[00:50:25] two courts of the house of the Lord and he caused his children to pass
[00:50:28] through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom and he observed times
[00:50:33] astrology used enchantments and witchcraft this too was bad news he dealt
[00:50:40] with familiar spirits and wizards everything that God you know said don't
[00:50:46] do this guy did it right and it said he wrought much evil in the side of the
[00:50:52] Lord to provoke him to anger and he set a carved image the idol which he
[00:50:57] had made where in the house of God what do we have remember what that what did
[00:51:05] the scripture say a minute ago Paul said it's not the idol that's anything but
[00:51:11] it's the demons attached to that it's the demonic use you've had fellowship
[00:51:16] with the idol you have fellowship with devils right so he says here and he
[00:51:20] set the carved image and the idol which he had made in the house of God
[00:51:24] so here you've got the presence of God manifest in the holy of holy and Manasseh
[00:51:31] puts his idol in here and and they're worshiping demons in the house of God
[00:51:41] all right committing idolatry in the house of which God said to David and
[00:51:46] Solomon his son in this house and in Jerusalem which I have chosen before
[00:51:50] all the tribes of Israel will I put my name forever so oh we got a problem
[00:51:56] right so Manasseh does this now let's look at Ezekiel what else was going on
[00:52:04] in the house Ezekiel 8 3 through 6 the Lord shows Ezekiel even more of what's
[00:52:09] going on in the house in his temple and he put forth the form of hand it took
[00:52:16] me by the lock of my head and the spirit lifted me up between the earth
[00:52:20] and heaven this is actually God taking Ezekiel spirit out of his body and
[00:52:24] taking him from Babylon to Jerusalem to the temple to show him what's going on
[00:52:28] so this is the Lord doing doing it not you know not using Easter meditative
[00:52:36] techniques to astral travel but anyway since he brought me into the visions of
[00:52:42] God to Jerusalem to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the
[00:52:47] north where was the seat of the image of jealousy which provoked it to jealousy
[00:52:52] and behold the glory of the God of Israel was there so he takes him and
[00:52:56] shows him this image this idol set there he sees that and then but the glory
[00:53:02] of God is still there on the temple and in the temple and the glory of God of
[00:53:07] Israel was there according to the vision that I saw on the plane then said he
[00:53:11] unto me son of man lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north and so I
[00:53:15] lifted up my eyes the way toward the north and behold northward at the gate
[00:53:19] of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry and he said furthermore to me
[00:53:23] son of man see us thou what they do even the great abominations that the house of
[00:53:28] Israel committed here that I should go far off from my sanctuary so the Lord
[00:53:34] saying is because this has come into my house and they're not removing it or
[00:53:40] cleaning the house out I'm about to leave but what do we see the picture
[00:53:45] both the unclean is in the house and the Lord still in the house oh see
[00:53:53] Christian they can dwell in the same house the same time but not forever one
[00:53:58] will go eventually you either get rid of the unclean spirits and idolatry and
[00:54:04] the demons and everything else or the Lord will leave why because you're gonna
[00:54:12] end up doing if you if you have if you allow demonic forces strongholds to stay
[00:54:16] in you they will eventually get the vantage over they will eventually get
[00:54:20] you to do what they want you to do which is sin and disobey and rebellion
[00:54:26] and you know all that stuff Manasseh was doing but anyway the Lord said that he
[00:54:33] should go but he said but turn thee yet again and I shall see greater
[00:54:36] abominations that's Ezekiel 8 3 through 6 it continues verses 7 through 14 and
[00:54:44] he brought me to the door of the court and when I looked behold a hole in the
[00:54:49] wall then he said unto me son of man now dig in the wall and when I had
[00:54:54] digged in the wall behold the door and he said to me go in and behold the wicked
[00:54:58] abominations that they do here so I went in and saw and behold every form of
[00:55:03] creeping things and abominable beasts and all the idols of the house of Israel
[00:55:06] portrayed upon the wall round about so the idols of Israel were portrayed
[00:55:12] upon the walls of the temple now if it's a picture or a symbol or anything
[00:55:19] of Satan what does that bring with it demons right that gives them permission
[00:55:24] to be there he said he goes on to see and there stood before them 70 men of the
[00:55:33] ancients of the house of Israel and in the midst of them stood Jezeniah the son
[00:55:40] of Shaphan and with every man his censor in his hand and a thick cloud of
[00:55:44] incense went up then said he under me son of man has thou seen what the
[00:55:47] ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark every man in the chambers of
[00:55:52] his imagery and I could spend a lot of time with this but this was he was
[00:55:55] saying that this is these guys were into Eastern religions see Eastern
[00:56:00] religions existed at this time so he's talking about the chambers of their
[00:56:04] imagery he's talking about in their imaginations so they were doing
[00:56:08] visualization they were probably chanting and doing things because he
[00:56:12] does going to say and you'll see in a second that they were worshiping the
[00:56:16] Sun which is another thing from Hinduism and Buddhism it says that for
[00:56:21] they say the Lord seeth us not the Lord has forsaken the earth he said
[00:56:25] also and to me turn the yet again and thou shalt see greater abominations
[00:56:29] that they do then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house
[00:56:32] which was toward the north and behold there sat women weeping for tamis that's
[00:56:37] all kind of insanity going on worshiping of other gods demon gods and idols
[00:56:45] right there in God's house but he hasn't left yet oh my you mean all this
[00:56:51] could be going on in the presence of God still in the temple and this is all
[00:56:55] going on in the temple and in the court of the temple yes continues Ezekiel 8
[00:57:01] 15 through 16 then said he unto me hast thou seen this O son of man turn the
[00:57:06] yet again and thou shall see greater abominations than these and he brought
[00:57:09] me into the inner court somebody say inner court he brought me to the inner
[00:57:17] court of the Lord's house and behold at the door of the temple of the Lord
[00:57:20] between the porch and the altar were about five and twenty men with their
[00:57:23] backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east and they
[00:57:26] worshiped the Sun toward the east turn their backs on the Lord in his inner
[00:57:33] core in the temple so they're worshiping the Sun so they're practicing
[00:57:37] yoga that's what yoga yoga all the positions of yoga is about to decide so
[00:57:41] they're practicing yoga they're worshiping the Sun probably at sunrise
[00:57:47] which is what most do in Hinduism and Buddhism in the Lord's house and get
[00:57:52] his presence still there think about that there's yoga classes in churches
[00:57:58] now all across the country it's this it's Ezekiel there is nothing new under
[00:58:03] the Sun everything that was done back then is being done again now now
[00:58:10] remember this was 600 BC and we can we can trace Hinduism and Buddhism back to
[00:58:20] 1500 BC so it's not I'm not speculating here all right just like y'all know
[00:58:27] that's not speculation these religions existed so why was Jerusalem destroyed so
[00:58:35] he tells him you know the Lord says here Ezekiel 86 furthermore he said son of
[00:58:38] man do you see what they are doing the great abominations that the house of
[00:58:42] Israel commits here to make me go far away from my sanctuary now turn again
[00:58:46] you will see greater abomination Ezekiel the priest was taken to Babylon during
[00:58:50] the second deportation at 597 BC he was called to be a prophet there he
[00:58:55] was carried to the temple in a vision he saw the acts of the Jewish leaders he
[00:59:01] also saw the destruction of Jerusalem so he had a idol in the entrance of the
[00:59:06] temple the 70 elders were worshiping reptiles and beasts the women were
[00:59:10] praising tames and 25 men probably priests worshiping the Sun toward these
[00:59:17] this is all that's going on so just a short recap there everything going on
[00:59:22] in the temple so this and this breaks down the abominations in the temple
[00:59:26] here this is where this stuff was going on animal images in here women out here
[00:59:32] it's just insane right now let's keep going the glory of the Lord so Ezekiel
[00:59:41] sees the glory of the of the presence of the Lord within his temple in 8 4 the
[00:59:47] glory of God is seen at the doorway to the temple in 9 3 Ezekiel 9 3 it
[00:59:53] next leaves the doorway and moves out to the eastern gate in 10 chapter 10 verse
[00:59:58] 18 so God begins to leave finally why did I take time to go through all that
[01:00:04] because again type and shadow we are the temple of the Holy Spirit when we're
[01:00:12] born again at our dedication to him when we dedicate our lives to the Lord and
[01:00:18] we are born again through faith in Jesus Christ his Holy Spirit comes and
[01:00:23] links up with our human spirit and revives us brings our dead spirit back
[01:00:28] to life he quickens us he makes us alive spiritually that's him coming into our
[01:00:34] holy of holies as we begin to minister and learn how to worship him and serve
[01:00:39] him that's our soul coming into line and then both our spirit souls to keep
[01:00:46] our body the outer court in subjection in check all right but if we start
[01:00:56] bringing in fornication idolatry we start opening the doorways willful sin or
[01:01:04] ignorance doesn't matter then what happens stuff starts coming in to the
[01:01:10] temple and it's demons and it's unclean spirits and sooner or later you're
[01:01:14] either gonna get rid of them or the Lord's gonna leave right let's look we
[01:01:19] got another Old Testament picture of this with a person King Saul who says
[01:01:25] seer Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it upon his head and kissed him
[01:01:28] and said is not is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain
[01:01:33] over his inheritance first Samuel 10 1 so verses 6 and then 9 through 11 say this
[01:01:42] and the Spirit of the Lord will come upon these the Samuel prophesying to
[01:01:45] saw the Spirit of the Lord will come upon me and thou shalt prophesy gifts
[01:01:50] of the Spirit begin to work in your life saw now shall be turned into
[01:01:53] another man oh what's the New Testament equivalent of that second Corinthians
[01:01:59] 517 if any man be in Christ he is a new creature a new creation all right he's
[01:02:06] telling Saul the Spirit of God is gonna come on you and you're gonna be turned
[01:02:10] into another man and it was so that when he had turned his back to go from
[01:02:13] Samuel God gave him another heart man this almost sounds New Testament done
[01:02:20] it the Holy Spirit comes on saw and God gives him turns him into another man
[01:02:29] makes him a new creature gives him a new heart and all those signs it says came
[01:02:35] to pass that day and when they came there to the hill behold a company of
[01:02:39] prophets met him and the Spirit of God came upon him and he prophesied among
[01:02:43] them so here Saul goes from being this normal guy to be an anointed called to
[01:02:50] be the king the Holy Spirit comes on him he's turned into another man he's
[01:02:55] given a new heart and in the gifts of the spirit begin to work in his life he
[01:03:00] begins to prophesize so he's not only a becomes a king that day but he becomes a
[01:03:05] prophet that day but we have a problem right and well even the people goes on
[01:03:12] to say so then it came to pass when all that knew him before time saw that
[01:03:17] behold he prophesied among the prophets then the people said one to
[01:03:20] another what is this that is coming to the Son of Gish you saw also among the
[01:03:23] prophets so again we're looking at the types and shadows now a type of Saul
[01:03:29] what saw would be this story here would be an example or a type or shadow to us
[01:03:34] is someone right who gets saved and the Spirit of God and called to the
[01:03:41] ministry and the Spirit of God comes upon them and they are filled with Holy
[01:03:45] Spirit they're born again and they become a new person in Jesus Christ and
[01:03:49] they're given a new heart and then they're baptized they're filled with the
[01:03:55] Holy Spirit in the gifts of prophecy and tongues and interpretation of tongue
[01:03:59] they begin to become they become true New Testament born again spirit filled
[01:04:06] belief that's what this is a picture of and yet Saul later through his sin and
[01:04:13] disobedience what happens he becomes demon possessed he opens the door to
[01:04:23] demons they come in so we have this picture let's read this 1st Samuel 1523
[01:04:31] for rebellion this is after Saul starts disobey it in the end Samuel tells me for
[01:04:36] rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and
[01:04:41] idolatry because thou has rejected the word of the Lord is also rejected thee
[01:04:45] from being king then Samuel first Samuel 16 then Samuel took the horn of oil and
[01:04:52] knowing it him David this is he's moved on to David now in the midst of
[01:04:55] his brethren and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day
[01:04:59] forward so Samuel rose up and went to Rama but the Spirit of the Lord departed
[01:05:05] from Saul departed from Saul just like what just like he departed from the
[01:05:10] temple he had been there and he left why did he leave the sin came in right sin
[01:05:18] came in the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit from the
[01:05:23] Lord troubled so the Lord people get all worked up about the language here
[01:05:28] but it's just the Lord left and allowed Satan to take the Lord didn't say go
[01:05:32] take him or you know just all right the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul
[01:05:37] the evil spirit from the Lord troubled him and it came to pass when the evil
[01:05:40] spirit from God was upon Saul that David took a harp and played with his
[01:05:44] hand and so Saul was refreshed and was well and the evil spirit departed from
[01:05:48] him this is kind of where Christians a lot of Christians who have demonic
[01:05:52] strongholds in them this is where they live they'll be tormented and
[01:05:56] vexed and troubled and depressed and overwhelmed by these spirits maybe with
[01:06:02] lust maybe with anger maybe with depression many different things
[01:06:06] addiction they'll go sometimes they'll force themselves into a place of prayer
[01:06:11] or a place of worship and really really seek the Lord maybe spend some time
[01:06:15] fasting maybe go to church and it's a good service and they'll feel refreshed
[01:06:19] for a season and then they end up right back you know right back David was
[01:06:26] anointed the Holy Spirit was on David he was the man of God he was gifted
[01:06:31] worship leader so Saul would feel better why because that worship would push
[01:06:38] the demons back and would kind of subdue them I call it holding the beach
[01:06:42] balls underwater kind of get the beach balls underwater for a minute get control
[01:06:46] of them hold them there you can only hold the beach balls underwater for so
[01:06:50] long though that's what many Christians are doing with the demons in their life
[01:06:54] instead of casting them out there instead of getting rid of the beach balls
[01:06:57] they're trying to hold like three or four beach balls underwater and wondering
[01:07:01] why they're having problems and why stuff keeps popping up you got to get
[01:07:06] rid of the demons let's go on down says here this is first
[01:07:10] annual 18 10 through 12 and it says that it came to pass on tomorrow that
[01:07:16] the evil spirit from God came upon Saul and he prophesied in the midst of
[01:07:19] the house so here here oh I've seen this so many times here Saul still
[01:07:27] operating in the gift of the spirit the Holy Spirit that God gave him while the
[01:07:31] evil spirit comes upon so can there be this kind of mixture oh yes there can be
[01:07:37] right now the Pentecostal and Charismatic churches most of them in
[01:07:40] the world are full of this many of them are truly were saved and baptized the
[01:07:44] Holy Spirit but they've also opened the door to the counterfeit the
[01:07:48] Kundalini spirit and so you get a mixture in these churches sad to say
[01:07:55] anyway came to pass on tomorrow that the evil spirit from Saul came upon from God
[01:08:00] came upon Saul and he prophesied in the midst of the house and David played with
[01:08:04] his hand as at other times and there was a javelin in Saul's hand and Saul
[01:08:09] cast the javelin for he said I will smite David even to the wall with it
[01:08:12] and David avoided out of his presence twice and Saul was afraid of David
[01:08:16] because the Lord was with him and departed from Saul notice you'll see
[01:08:20] here that this time David played it didn't work didn't help you know why can't
[01:08:25] put a band-aid on a gunshot wound the band-aid will only help for so long
[01:08:30] right the gunshot wound will overwhelm the band-aid every time and this is
[01:08:37] what happens and this is what Christians do they put their little spiritual
[01:08:40] band-aids on their demon gunshot wounds that they have and they think
[01:08:46] well if I pray a little more if I fast a little more if I go to church a little
[01:08:51] more if I read a little more even those those are good things to do demons don't
[01:08:58] leave because you do those things demons have to be bound you have to bind them
[01:09:03] in Jesus name by their name or by how they got in or what they are what
[01:09:08] they're doing in your life bind them and you have to command them to leave
[01:09:12] in Jesus name and you have to close that doorway so Saul was just getting
[01:09:18] worse not better so this is a picture of it right and where did King Saul's life
[01:09:28] end he ended up God not speaking to him anymore he ended up going to witchcraft
[01:09:35] and witches to try to get communication with the spirit world and then he
[01:09:42] committed suicide after he was wounded in a battle he went ahead and finished
[01:09:45] himself off suicide is always a sign of demonic activity right y'all good
[01:09:55] learning something now let's look at this Matthew 15 the woman the outside the
[01:10:01] covenant that came to Jesus for deliverance for her daughter though you
[01:10:06] see we move now back into the New Testament let's read this story this
[01:10:10] is Matthew 15 or read 21 through 24 first he says here then Jesus went
[01:10:17] thence and departed into the coast of Tyrean Sidon and behold a woman of
[01:10:21] Canaan a woman of Canaan what does that mean not a woman of Israel not a
[01:10:26] daughter of Abraham it says here a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and
[01:10:33] cried into him saying have mercy on me oh Lord thou son of David my daughter is
[01:10:41] grievously vexed with the devil but he answered her not a word oh people if I
[01:10:52] did that would freak out you rude nasty mean preacher you how dare you ignore
[01:11:00] this poor woman who's seeking help for her child oh boy yeah that was veto yeah
[01:11:14] I said it don't care cuz that's exactly an illustration of mr. Steven veto he
[01:11:20] didn't get what he wanted when he wanted and so he took his ball he went
[01:11:23] home so you know see this woman of Canaan comes out my daughter is
[01:11:31] grievously vexed with the devil but he Jesus answered her not a word didn't
[01:11:35] speak he just kept walking I mean I'm trying to get y'all to grasp this
[01:11:41] picture this woman comes up have mercy on me son of David my daughter is
[01:11:47] grievously vexed with the devil he doesn't even acknowledge her he keeps
[01:11:52] walking now the great teacher the Messiah God in the flesh the one who
[01:12:00] always walked in perfect love never sin what is going on here you think he's
[01:12:08] probably trying to teach us something I'll try and teach his disciples some
[01:12:11] yeah because he was always teaching so he doesn't answer a word his disciples
[01:12:18] came and besought him saying send her away or she cries after us but he
[01:12:22] answered and said I am NOT sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of
[01:12:26] Israel remember I mentioned this earlier don't listen to the Torah heads because
[01:12:32] they'll thank you that Jesus is only saving these ten tribes that are the
[01:12:37] lost ten tribes that are out here and they're one of them and if you get
[01:12:40] saved you're happen to be one because Jesus was only sent to them they are
[01:12:43] such bad teachers of Scripture in her minute it is so bad Jesus say remember
[01:12:51] Jesus is operating under the old covenant this time as he is transitioning
[01:12:55] us into the new so the only blood covenant intact at this time is God's
[01:13:02] blood covenant with the house of Israel that's it that's the only blood
[01:13:06] covenant what is this woman coming to Jesus to seek she's coming to seek
[01:13:11] deliverance for him to get rid of a demon to cast out a demon what did Jesus tell
[01:13:15] us if you the unclean spirits gone out of a man walks through dry place seek
[01:13:19] rest find none he comes finds a house empty so Jesus knew he couldn't cast
[01:13:24] demons out of this woman's daughter because she bite would have no means to
[01:13:29] stay free and would end up worse that's why he kept walking and he didn't
[01:13:32] answer her at work and that's why he eventually said to his disciples I am
[01:13:37] not sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel now what changed in this story
[01:13:42] what happened well something that was going on in this
[01:13:48] transitionary period Matthew 15 25 to 28 the story continued then came she and
[01:13:57] worshiped him so she went from and this is what I believe in the story that
[01:14:03] she went from a place of just wanting something from the Lord just wanting
[01:14:08] help to acknowledging who he is and who he was so the moment she worships him
[01:14:16] and says Lord help me she just went from being someone who just wanted something
[01:14:25] to someone who is acknowledging you are God you are Lord you are the Messiah I'm
[01:14:32] acknowledging as a Gentile I'm acknowledging you as the Lord as God in
[01:14:38] the flesh as the Christ the Messiah the Savior the moment she does that she moves
[01:14:43] from just wanting something to faith in him which is what he wants first and
[01:14:51] foremost faith in him and the fact that she worshiped him she was acknowledging
[01:14:57] him as God okay and Jesus did not stop her from doing that so he was
[01:15:04] acknowledging and admitting to yes I am God so he says this to her when she
[01:15:13] worships him says Lord help me but he answered and said this and this is so
[01:15:20] very important when it comes to deliverance you need to know this phrase
[01:15:23] he said to her it is not meat or it is not right to take the children's bread
[01:15:34] and to cast it to dogs now we got to break that verse down what is she asking
[01:15:39] for she's asking for Jesus to cast the demons out of her daughter she she's
[01:15:46] asking for deliverance from demons what is Jesus called what she's asking for
[01:15:52] children's bread so let's just get this down deliverance or the casting out
[01:16:00] of demons is for the children of God those in blood covenant when that is what
[01:16:07] he's saying it's not for the unsaid again because they can't keep them out
[01:16:14] they can't they will never stay free they will be worse off so Jesus said
[01:16:20] it's not right it's not meat or right to take the children's bread and to cast it
[01:16:26] to dogs dogs was a term for people Gentiles outside of the blood covenant
[01:16:34] at this time the old covenant remember this is it was I mean Jesus is this is
[01:16:40] strong right so he's telling her look it's not right for me to do this
[01:16:45] because you are not in blood covenant and that she said and see this is
[01:16:52] what's beautiful true worship true acknowledgement of who he is humility
[01:16:59] persistence those are faith that's that's how faith works and she said truth Lord
[01:17:06] yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table saying
[01:17:11] you're the master I'll take the crumbs master oh man for a Gentile Canaanite
[01:17:19] woman to call a Jew to worship him as God and call him her master humility and
[01:17:29] what does Jesus say to her then Jesus answered and said oh woman great is thy
[01:17:35] faith be it unto thee even as thou wilt and her daughter was made whole from
[01:17:41] that very hour she moved from being a Canaanite to faith in the Lord Jesus as
[01:17:50] Messiah and Savior and healer and so he granted her request this is a powerful
[01:18:00] story because there's just so much truth here and you know something else that
[01:18:05] Jesus said he only said twice he only said two times great is your faith and
[01:18:11] both were the Gentiles and this is one of them so what I tell people here is
[01:18:21] it's very biblical to say it's not right to take the children's bread
[01:18:26] deliverance and to give it to those outside the Covenant the blood covenant
[01:18:30] of God meaning the unsaved those who are not born again and covered by the blood
[01:18:34] of Jesus because they will never be able to stay free and they'll end up
[01:18:37] worse off so once you realize this the the question can Christian have
[01:18:46] Christians have demons in them if not then there shouldn't be any ministry of
[01:18:55] deliverance at all zip zero and I'll say like I said ninety nine point nine nine
[01:19:04] percent of the deliverance that I have done in 32 years of cast the demons out
[01:19:08] of people have been Christians very rare case that they have not been now
[01:19:18] here's another illustration we get of deliverance in the New Testament the
[01:19:25] story of Lazarus I remember I was reading this one day and it just kind
[01:19:29] of just leaped out at me okay so let's let's look at this I know it was it is a
[01:19:34] literal event that happened Lazarus was a real person was a close friend of Jesus
[01:19:39] he died he got sick and died of Jesus after four days went and raised him from
[01:19:44] the dead didn't he didn't go into the tomb and touch him like it's in the
[01:19:50] Bible series of what's her name yeah Roma downie and her husband had him go
[01:19:57] in and touch the dead body which he would never do but Jesus stood outside
[01:20:05] the tin well let's read this John 11 41 to 44 then took they away the stone
[01:20:10] remember Jesus told him take away the stone from the place where the dead was
[01:20:13] laid and Jesus lifted up his eyes and said father I think thee that thou has
[01:20:17] heard me and I knew that thou hearest me always but because of the people which
[01:20:21] stand by I said it the thing to believe that thou has sent me and we had said
[01:20:27] when he had thus spoken he cried with a loud voice Lazarus come forth and he
[01:20:32] that was dead came forth bound hand and foot with grave clothes and his face was
[01:20:36] bound about with a napkin and Jesus said unto them loose him and let him go
[01:20:40] now this I was reading this one day and it just it just jumped out at me
[01:20:45] Lazarus was dead Jesus by his power his resurrection power his holy ghost
[01:20:54] power his power as God almighty over life and death raises Lazarus from the
[01:20:59] dead after three day at four day Lazarus comes forth out of the tomb he is raised
[01:21:04] from that he has gone from death to life what does that sound like salvation
[01:21:09] doesn't it you who were dead and trespasses and sins Ephesians 2 are
[01:21:14] now made alive right so we were dead and trespasses and sins when we are
[01:21:20] born again we are raised from the spiritual dead to spiritual life so
[01:21:26] Lazarus was raised from the dead fully alive fully brand-new I mean his body
[01:21:32] was already decaying in there so he was made new all right restored whole yet
[01:21:41] when he comes forth either he is still bound he is still in bondage he is still
[01:21:48] wrapped in the grave clothes of death the chains of death now does Jesus walk
[01:21:55] over and loose him and let him go from his grave clothes no he tells the
[01:21:58] people around him go loose him and let him go why that's our job he saves them
[01:22:06] we cast the demons out oh that's the deal right not mark 15 number 16 15
[01:22:16] through 20 these signs shall follow them to believe go preach the gospel to
[01:22:20] every creature what get them saved then the first thing he said in my name cast
[01:22:28] out demons so get them saved get them from death to life then loose them from
[01:22:35] their bondage from their path remember see the grave clothes are still the past
[01:22:41] still clinging to him a lot of people are like this a lot of Christians are
[01:22:50] like this they've been born again they've been raised from death to life
[01:22:54] through faith in Jesus it's real they've really been saved they still
[01:22:59] got a lot of their past that still has them in bondage and it's demonic
[01:23:04] bondage and we are supposed to loose them and let him go and we do that by
[01:23:10] binding the demons and commanding them to loose them and leave them binding and
[01:23:15] loosing talk about that a few weeks ago all right then I've talked about the two
[01:23:21] cleansing remember we have the picture the brazen altar was the blood
[01:23:27] sacrifice the brazen lover was the water where you had to wash and then you
[01:23:31] could go there's two cleansings for the Christian and they're written right
[01:23:36] here one of sin and the other of demons first John 1 7 through 9 if we walk in
[01:23:44] the light as he is in the light you fellowship one with another in the
[01:23:47] blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all sin we say that we have no
[01:23:51] sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us if we confess our sins he
[01:23:55] is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all
[01:23:59] unrighteousness so Jesus cleanses us from sin but then in second Corinthians
[01:24:06] 7 1 Paul speaking to Christians he says having therefore these promises nearly
[01:24:12] beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit
[01:24:19] perfecting holiness in the fear of God so deliverance casting out binding and
[01:24:26] casting out demons cleaning out our temple cleaning out our land cleaning out
[01:24:32] our bodies our souls our spirits of the past is part of the Christian law it is
[01:24:41] an important part is imperative and we need to do this we need to do this
[01:24:46] ourselves if we've never done it and we need them to help others let me show
[01:24:53] you something say well who needs deliverance let's go to I think that's
[01:24:57] my last slide in it yeah let's let's go to Isaiah 42 and see Isaiah 42 is
[01:25:11] actually quoted by Matthew in Matthew chapter 12 when Jesus is the whole
[01:25:19] deliverance confrontation is going on but Isaiah 42 let's go there I'm gonna
[01:25:25] read something to you here verse 1 is where we'll start this is a prophecy in
[01:25:31] Isaiah about Jesus and his ministry here he says behold my servant whom I uphold
[01:25:37] mine elect and whom my soul delight if I have put my spirit upon him and he shall
[01:25:41] bring forth judgment to the Gentiles who did he just help we just read the
[01:25:47] Canaanite woman a Gentile he shall not cry nor lift up nor cause his voice to
[01:25:53] be heard in the street a bruised reed shall he not break and a smoking flag
[01:25:57] shall he not quench and he shall bring forth judgment unto truth he
[01:26:01] should not fail nor be discouraged till he have set judgment in the earth and the
[01:26:05] eyes shall wait for his law and so this is all about Jesus here right and talks
[01:26:10] about go down to verse 6 says I the Lord have called thee in righteousness and
[01:26:16] will hold thine hand and will keep thee and give thee for a covenant of the
[01:26:20] people and for light to the Gentiles to open the blind eyes to bring out the
[01:26:24] prisoners from the prison and then that sit in darkness out of the prison
[01:26:28] house so here you have him talking about that all right so this whole
[01:26:33] chapter is about Jesus right about his ministry but let's go down to verse 18
[01:26:38] and this verse again this is quoted in Matthew 12 about Jesus ministry when he
[01:26:45] just cast the deaf and dumb spirit out of a boy and healed him this is the
[01:26:49] verse that this is the passage quoted in Matthew so again the context is
[01:26:54] about deliverance in Matthew and here in verse 18 he says here you deaf and look
[01:27:01] you blind that you may see who is blind but my servant or deaf is my messenger
[01:27:06] that I sent who is blind to see that is perfect and blind as the Lord's
[01:27:10] servant seeing many things but thou observest not opening the ears but he
[01:27:15] that here is not now listen this verse 21 this is a clear reference to Jesus
[01:27:20] says this the Lord is well pleased for his righteousness say he will magnify
[01:27:26] the law and make it honorable Jesus came and fulfilled the law he lived it
[01:27:29] perfectly fulfilled it and then instituted the new covenant he says though

[01:27:41] is a people robbed and spoiled look at this they are all of them snared in
[01:27:51] holes and they are hid in prison houses they are for a pray and none deliver
[01:27:57] for a spoil and none sayeth restore who among you will give ear to this who
[01:28:04] will hearken in here for the time to come so here he says that this people
[01:28:12] the Lord is well pleased for his righteous so Jesus lived a sinless life
[01:28:16] he gave his life so that we could have his righteousness he fulfilled the law he
[01:28:23] made it honorable no man could fulfill the law Jesus fulfilled it he says but
[01:28:28] then this is a people and really is is in italics mean it's not in the original
[01:28:33] it was there just to help so basically same boat he says but this people but
[01:28:40] this people robbed and spoiled they are are all of them snared in holes and
[01:28:48] hid in prison houses all of them so what he's saying here real clearly is
[01:28:52] that either through generational sins of our fathers and of course our own sins
[01:29:00] where we've opened doors and broken the hedge in our path all of us have done
[01:29:03] this so when you ask who needs deliverance I'll tell you right now
[01:29:06] according to the Bible what I believe the Bible says here is everybody to
[01:29:12] some degree not all at the same degree up but we all need it some of them all
[01:29:20] right um just as a testimony I mean when I came back to the Lord in June of
[01:29:28] 1987 it was real real repentance real cleansing of my sins shortly thereafter
[01:29:38] within about three weeks I finally got to reading the book of Acts and cried
[01:29:44] out and asked God for the baptism Holy Spirit I was baptized in the Holy
[01:29:48] Spirit and the evidence of speaking to other tongues just like the Bible says
[01:29:51] happened to me of course I was rebaptized in water because I was baptized
[01:29:56] when I was young and really didn't fully understand it so I decided to get
[01:29:59] rebaptized in water um but I was living for the Lord I was leading people to
[01:30:04] Jesus and you know then my first convert came out of Satanism and
[01:30:11] witchcraft and of course after that individual came to know Jesus was born
[01:30:18] again then the demons manifested and had to cast them out and then of course just
[01:30:23] just a long story I'm not trying to get into all that but then I came back to
[01:30:27] Alabama and got a hold of a book I started reading about spiritual warfare
[01:30:32] and deliverance and realized that you know what I hadn't prayed over myself
[01:30:36] about some things and I just remembered you know my especially me playing with
[01:30:41] the Ouija board I did that several times when I was a teenager and it
[01:30:46] worked I also played with divining rods and pendulums and divination tools
[01:30:52] and stuff and we had a certain individual introduce us to that and I mean my
[01:30:57] brother could take like I had a gold ring he could take it and he could go
[01:31:01] hide it in the front yard down in the grass right the whole yard was just grass
[01:31:06] so he could hide it down in the grass and I could take divining rods to
[01:31:12] swiveling divining rods and I could walk and they would lead me and leave me back
[01:31:20] this way and then when the when I got right over where the ring was they would
[01:31:25] cross and I look down and I'd find that I'd pull that ring out of the grass so
[01:31:30] I could do some divination man divination and using pendulums we used to use
[01:31:36] pendulums and we somebody mix up some cards and be like you know five or six
[01:31:42] cards and one would be an ace and we take a pendulum and come across it and
[01:31:47] then when the pendulum started moving over that car with the ace and it'd be
[01:31:51] the ace every time it's divination all right it's witchcraft well I remembered
[01:31:56] started remembering and I knew it was a witch it taught me that stuff because I
[01:31:59] figured that out later on but I remember when I was sitting and I was
[01:32:04] reading that book on spiritual warfare and deliverance and realized that I
[01:32:07] hadn't prayed over that so I said I just said I'm sitting in the chair I
[01:32:11] just put the book just kind of laid down said the name of Jesus I bind the demons
[01:32:15] of divination and witchcraft that came into me familiar spirits that came into
[01:32:20] me through the Ouija board and I bind you I break your power off me and I
[01:32:24] command you to go from me now and I'm not joking you I felt this tightening
[01:32:30] in here and I felt it come up and out of me like somebody turned on a you know
[01:32:38] a leaf blower in me and it came out my mouth and I mean and then I felt like
[01:32:44] this weird it was like a heaviness that lifted off I felt freer and lighter I
[01:32:50] was like whoa those boys were there and that was the beginning of me
[01:32:56] realizing because I was living the Christian life as I mean there was I
[01:33:01] wouldn't even go on dates because you know with any any I would I wouldn't
[01:33:06] get in any relationships because I had issues with sexual sin and drugs and
[01:33:11] alcohol and everything else I was living for Jesus man all I was doing was
[01:33:15] getting up and going to prayer in the mornings and study my Bible and I mean
[01:33:20] there was no goofing around I'm leaving people to the Lord leading people the
[01:33:24] baptism the Holy Spirit and going out on the street and preaching and
[01:33:27] witnessing the people that's all I did so I didn't even watch TV or go to
[01:33:32] movies cuz I just didn't have time actually and I didn't want to see the
[01:33:34] crap so you know I mean it was just I wasn't trying to be you know legalistic
[01:33:40] I just I just would rather read my Bible and pray so that was kind of the
[01:33:46] beginning and then I then of course later on I started struggling some more
[01:33:50] and again still living for the Lord no compromise in my life and man I start
[01:33:56] to feel like I'm crumbling on the inside I start to feel like that that
[01:34:00] if especially lusts begin to overwhelm me and so I remember calling the author
[01:34:06] of the book that I was reading before because that's the only person I knew
[01:34:11] that even even believed in deliverance for Christians at the time you're
[01:34:14] talking about we're talking about 1988 guy you know you know 1988 1989 that
[01:34:22] first instant was in 87 you know late 87 and then on into 88 and 89 I knew I
[01:34:29] needed to get more thorough about my own and that's when that sister told me
[01:34:35] real plainly you got to make a very thorough list of all your your old grade
[01:34:39] pros you need to you need to define every shred of it and that's when I went
[01:34:47] and started making a very thorough list of all my sexual sins and sexual you
[01:34:54] know people that I was involved with sexually all the drugs I took all the
[01:34:57] occult things that I did you know because again my first one was very
[01:35:01] superficial in the sense of I just thought about almost like you know oh this
[01:35:06] witchcraft stuff's bad right you know but you just kind of we kind of blow
[01:35:10] over things you know make light of them but over the years and I just want
[01:35:15] to share some of this before we leave how important this stuff is because you
[01:35:20] know I think about you know Josiah I mean your mom how different her life is
[01:35:27] now after deliverance you know his mom's been a Christian since she was what
[01:35:33] teenager something like that she was saved and then of course went to church
[01:35:40] came out of Roman Catholicism and became you know true Protestant Christian
[01:35:47] she was truly born again came out of the Roman Catholic Church married a
[01:35:52] Christian man your dad you know has been nothing but about trying to live a godly
[01:36:01] Christian life for years not perfect by any means but when we met them which is
[01:36:07] now goodness how many years ago was that with 2011 so eight years ago your
[01:36:14] mom was a mess I mean she was having constant migraine headaches I mean
[01:36:19] serious migraines that make her throw up and sick and have to you know just
[01:36:25] vision issues and she was having partial paralysis on one side of her body I
[01:36:30] think it was the left side of her body and and she would have these
[01:36:34] frequent nosebleeds that were like somebody turned a faucet on in there
[01:36:38] you know just crazy stuff right and so they started coming to our church and I
[01:36:45] we started finding out about what was going on in her life and so I taught on
[01:36:51] deliverance and and you know your mom and dad they got a hold of it they
[01:36:56] understood it and they're like you know we need to do this and so we sit down
[01:37:00] and prayed with Marlene and it was powerful let me tell you she made her
[01:37:05] list of all her sins and particularly it was her involvement in Roman
[01:37:10] Catholicism because that's idolatry praying to Mary and the wafer and all
[01:37:15] that stuff and and then her sister had also gotten into Santa Ria so there was a
[01:37:21] little bit of that Santa Ria voodoo witchcraft and she went I think Marlene
[01:37:26] went to like one Santa Ria ceremony or something like that but then we started
[01:37:32] praying for her we start we started binding the demons spirits of idolatry
[01:37:37] from worshiping Mary the Mary demons I call them and man I'm gonna tell you what
[01:37:43] she started throwing up and that nose started bleeding like somebody turned on a
[01:37:47] faucet it was intense man it was a good thing we had the trash can and multiple
[01:37:53] trash bags available and she doesn't mind me telling this story because it
[01:37:57] was powerful but we went through that whole process we prayed over the Santa
[01:38:02] Ria ritual she'd been through we prayed over you know just went down her
[01:38:07] list and she would fill them sometimes she would fill them trying to tear and
[01:38:11] cause her pain before they came out and it was intense we had to sometimes stop
[01:38:16] and let her rest because and here she is she's been a born-again Christian at
[01:38:21] that point you know she's well in her 30s so for 20 years she'd been a
[01:38:27] Christian and I'm not talking about a fake Christian or not born again or I
[01:38:32] mean a real Christian and here's the testimony I mean the testimony is after
[01:38:36] we did this and she learned to stand her ground and resist the devil in Jesus
[01:38:40] name she didn't have the migraines anymore the paralysis left the crazy
[01:38:47] constant nosebleed stopped happening and and now if anything like that starts to
[01:38:53] happen she knows that either somehow a doorway's got open I mean she's had some
[01:38:57] battles with some people praying for it shouldn't pray for and you know she
[01:39:01] got involved in essential oils at one point for a little bit so that opened
[01:39:05] the door again and so we had to deal with that bind the demons and cast them
[01:39:09] out but it changed her what I'm saying it changed her life and I thought I was
[01:39:13] just thinking about that for and I know it's not just the frick family but also
[01:39:17] Kevin's family had they not learned this and put this into practice how
[01:39:23] different your lives would have been I mean there was some bad stuff before we
[01:39:30] met you guys there were some really bad health things coming up that I just
[01:39:37] look back on it you know it could have been really really bad but they learned
[01:39:42] how to fight the devil bind the devil resist the demons go through deliverance
[01:39:48] make sure they're and clean out the land I mean it's just again is it
[01:39:51] everything in Christianity is it no is it important yes and just you know for
[01:39:59] our students you know if you're going to be an effective minister of the gospel and
[01:40:05] helping people overcome Satan's power and Satan's devices then this is part of
[01:40:11] it you're gonna have to be equipped to deal with this especially if you're
[01:40:14] going to be a pastor you know you don't counsel out a demon you know you don't
[01:40:22] salvation out a demon you don't bat water baptized out a demon you bind and
[01:40:29] command and cast out demons in Jesus name it has to be very specific and very
[01:40:35] focused and you got to call them by name by what they're doing or by how they got
[01:40:40] in and that's how you do it and you got to be thorough about it and so anyway
[01:40:45] I'm going to close on this today we're going to take up next class of spiritual
[01:40:51] warfare is going to be on a cursed objects or what we call familiar objects
[01:40:59] cursed objects and how important it is to not allow those in your life anyway
[01:41:06] let's pray and then we'll dismiss class this morning father we thank you Lord
[01:41:10] for this time together I thank you for these students God what you're doing in
[01:41:14] their lives truly help them see the importance of thorough deliverance for
[01:41:21] themselves and that so they can do it and then they can help others get free
[01:41:27] from every shred of their demonic grave clothes from the past and every demon
[01:41:34] that's been in their land and squatters in their temple Lord that we have power
[01:41:41] and authority to drive them out that you don't want us trying to hold these
[01:41:44] demonic beach balls in the water but you want us to get rid of them and so
[01:41:50] Lord I ask you to equip your Saints these students to do this to understand
[01:41:57] this and do this thoroughly and methodically in great detail no matter
[01:42:02] how long it takes that this needs to get done and they need to be able to help
[01:42:09] others as well so Lord I pray this over all of them and those who might watch and
[01:42:15] hear this teaching this message this class bless them and help them and guide
[01:42:21] them also into full deliverance and I pray this all in Jesus name alright then
