[00:00:11] I'm gonna welcome everyone
[00:00:12] to Fire and Grace School of Ministry this morning,
[00:00:15] second semester.
[00:00:17] Our students out there,
[00:00:18] anybody who might watch this later on,
[00:00:21] we welcome you to our second semester.
[00:00:24] This is the spiritual warfare block.
[00:00:28] This is class number three.
[00:00:32] And this one's gonna be entitled The Serpent in Eden.
[00:00:36] So we're dealing with spiritual warfare.
[00:00:39] Of course, the first week,
[00:00:40] we kind of had an overview
[00:00:42] of the importance of knowing our enemy.
[00:00:45] Week two, we went kind of back to origins,
[00:00:48] the fall of Lucifer, Satan, Halal,
[00:00:52] when he was a fallen angel,
[00:00:54] and before he was a fallen angel,
[00:00:56] and back to the pre-edamic angelic kingdoms on the earth.
[00:01:02] And so we're gonna kind of pick up there.
[00:01:04] But again, this is The Serpent in Eden class three.
[00:01:08] We're gonna be looking at Genesis chapter three
[00:01:11] this morning and all that it entails.
[00:01:14] Because go ahead,
[00:01:16] you can go ahead and write this down this morning
[00:01:18] that Genesis is pretty much
[00:01:22] the foundation of everything.
[00:01:27] I've heard it said Genesis one through 11
[00:01:30] are pretty much the foundation
[00:01:32] of the rest of the Bible and history.
[00:01:35] But I was thinking about that
[00:01:37] on the way to class this morning.
[00:01:41] And I just thought,
[00:01:42] well, not really,
[00:01:43] because once you get into chapter 12,
[00:01:45] then you're introduced to Abraham,
[00:01:46] who's the father of our faith.
[00:01:49] And then it just goes on to Joseph
[00:01:52] and why the children of Israel ended up in Egypt.
[00:01:54] And I mean, so on down the lines,
[00:01:56] Isaac and Rebecca.
[00:01:57] And so it's really the kind of the foundation
[00:02:00] of everything.
[00:02:02] And so Genesis is very important.
[00:02:06] I'll never forget.
[00:02:06] And I've shared this many times,
[00:02:07] but I just felt the need to share it again this morning
[00:02:10] because one of the most important aspects
[00:02:13] of teaching is repetition.
[00:02:14] So if you hear a thing a few times,
[00:02:16] you tend to get it.
[00:02:18] But I remember when I was attending Church on the Rock
[00:02:22] in Rockwall, Texas back in 1989.
[00:02:26] And plus, I considered Dr. Larry Lee
[00:02:29] my pastor for a season there.
[00:02:31] And so I attended the church there in 1989
[00:02:36] for not quite a year.
[00:02:39] But of course, even when I wasn't there,
[00:02:41] I was watching on television
[00:02:42] and listening to his tapes and reading his books.
[00:02:45] And so I consider him one of my pastors.
[00:02:47] I had several over the years,
[00:02:48] but he was a great teacher.
[00:02:51] But he went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
[00:02:56] in Fort Worth,
[00:02:57] one of the main Baptist seminaries in the country.
[00:03:02] I think there's three.
[00:03:03] I think there's one in New Orleans.
[00:03:05] I can't remember the name of it.
[00:03:06] Then there's Fuller Theological Seminary out in California.
[00:03:10] And then there's Southwestern Theological Seminary
[00:03:13] in Fort Worth, Texas.
[00:03:15] And he went there to get his doctorate degree in theology.
[00:03:22] And he said that while he was in his graduate studies,
[00:03:26] there probably, I'm thinking he was either there,
[00:03:29] probably in the early 70s is what I remember,
[00:03:32] but don't quote me on that.
[00:03:34] Somewhere in that time period.
[00:03:36] He said that his teachers now in a Bible,
[00:03:41] Baptist Bible Seminary in the 70s
[00:03:45] were saying that the first 11 chapters of Genesis
[00:03:48] was a true myth.
[00:03:50] They said that, well, the theological implications are true,
[00:03:53] but there probably wasn't ever a man named Adam,
[00:03:55] probably wasn't ever a man named Noah.
[00:03:58] And of course, Larry Lee said he raised his hand and said,
[00:04:03] well, Jesus thought they were real
[00:04:05] and Paul thought they were real.
[00:04:07] And the professor said, well, they just don't,
[00:04:09] they just didn't have the information that we have today.
[00:04:13] So if you wanna know what's wrong
[00:04:14] with the American church,
[00:04:18] pretty much when you talk about your Baptist church,
[00:04:21] you're talking about one of the largest denominations,
[00:04:23] if not the largest evangelical denomination in America.
[00:04:27] I'm not sure which one's the largest,
[00:04:28] probably is the Baptist though.
[00:04:31] But when you think about that's what their ministers
[00:04:38] to be in training were being taught in the 70s.
[00:04:43] You can see number one, the level of infiltration,
[00:04:46] the level really of the falling away
[00:04:48] of the apostasy from truth.
[00:04:50] But I'm just gonna tell you that the first
[00:04:54] 11 chapters of Genesis, all the chapters,
[00:04:56] all 50 chapters of Genesis is the inspired,
[00:05:00] infallible word of God and is to be taken literally.
[00:05:05] And that it really happened.
[00:05:06] There was a real man, first man named Adam.
[00:05:10] There was a real woman named Eve.
[00:05:12] There was a real man named Enoch and Noah.
[00:05:16] These people were real, okay?
[00:05:19] So I just wanted to get that out of the way.
[00:05:21] I mean, shouldn't have to be said,
[00:05:23] but we live in crazy times, right?
[00:05:25] I mean, we've got, and I'm gonna go over this in a minute,
[00:05:28] we've got some crazy interpretations
[00:05:29] of what we're about to read here in Genesis three,
[00:05:33] from people like Zen Garcia teaching this thing
[00:05:35] called the Serpent Seed Doctrine.
[00:05:38] He teaches that the serpent came in the garden
[00:05:42] and had sexual relations with Eve
[00:05:44] and out of that came Cain and he's the seed.
[00:05:47] And so there's the serpent seed in the earth,
[00:05:50] the descendants of Cain versus the descendants
[00:05:54] of Adam and Eve.
[00:05:55] And that's just simply not true.
[00:05:57] That teaching comes from ancient Gnosticism.
[00:06:01] It comes from also, you can find it in ancient Masonic myths.
[00:06:07] I mean, it's demonic, it's a demonic word.
[00:06:10] You don't get that from the scripture at all.
[00:06:13] But anyway, we're gonna go on and we're gonna read this.
[00:06:16] So Genesis chapter three is where we're starting this morning
[00:06:22] and we're going to really kind of linger
[00:06:26] in these passages this morning
[00:06:29] because again, this is foundational.
[00:06:31] We find out how Satan tries to deceive and corrupt
[00:06:36] the mind of human beings and as we'll see too,
[00:06:43] there's nothing new under the sun,
[00:06:45] even though the devil does know how to repackage it.
[00:06:49] All right, so let's read this.
[00:06:51] Now the serpent was more subtle
[00:06:53] than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
[00:06:58] And he said unto the woman,
[00:06:59] yay, hath God said, you shall not eat
[00:07:01] of every tree of the garden.
[00:07:03] And the woman said unto the serpent,
[00:07:05] we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden,
[00:07:08] but the fruit of the tree,
[00:07:09] which is in the midst of the garden,
[00:07:10] God hath said, you shall not eat of it,
[00:07:13] neither shall you touch it, lest you die.
[00:07:16] And the serpent said unto the woman,
[00:07:18] you shall not surely die.
[00:07:20] For God doth know that in the day you eat thereof,
[00:07:24] then your eyes shall be opened
[00:07:26] and you shall be as God's knowing good and evil.
[00:07:30] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food
[00:07:33] and that it was pleasant to the eyes
[00:07:35] and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
[00:07:39] she took of the fruit thereof and did eat
[00:07:42] and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat.
[00:07:45] And the eyes of both of them were opened
[00:07:47] and they knew that they were naked
[00:07:48] and they sewed fig leaves together
[00:07:50] to and made themselves aprons.
[00:07:52] And they heard the voice of the Lord,
[00:07:54] God walking in the garden in the coop of the day.
[00:07:58] And Adam and his wife hid themselves
[00:07:59] from the presence of the Lord God
[00:08:01] amongst the trees of the garden.
[00:08:03] And the Lord called unto Adam and said unto him,
[00:08:06] where art thou?
[00:08:07] And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden.
[00:08:09] I was afraid because I was naked
[00:08:11] and I hid myself.
[00:08:13] And he said, who told thee that thou was naked?
[00:08:14] Hast thou eaten of the tree?
[00:08:16] Where have I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
[00:08:18] And the man said, the woman whom thou gave us
[00:08:21] to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I did eat.
[00:08:25] And the Lord God said unto the woman,
[00:08:27] what is this that thou has done?
[00:08:28] And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me
[00:08:30] and I did eat.
[00:08:32] And the Lord God said unto the serpent,
[00:08:33] because thou has done this,
[00:08:34] thou art cursed above all cattle
[00:08:36] and above every beast of the field
[00:08:37] that upon thy belly shalt thou go and dust
[00:08:40] shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
[00:08:42] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman
[00:08:45] and between thy seed and her seed
[00:08:47] and it shall bruise thy head
[00:08:49] and that shall bruise his heel.
[00:08:51] So from this point on,
[00:08:52] this is the war of humanity here.
[00:08:56] Now let's, I'm gonna back up
[00:08:58] and we're gonna go through this again
[00:09:01] in a little more detail here.
[00:09:02] But first of all,
[00:09:05] there was one thing that really stood out to me
[00:09:07] this morning.
[00:09:08] And that was, we think about this tree,
[00:09:11] first of all, we're gonna think about
[00:09:12] this tree of the knowledge of good and evil
[00:09:14] that there were two trees in the garden.
[00:09:15] It was the tree of life
[00:09:17] and there was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
[00:09:19] And of course, many people will ask the question,
[00:09:21] okay, why was the tree of the knowledge
[00:09:23] of good and evil in the garden?
[00:09:26] Now, there's been many people
[00:09:27] try to answer this question over the years,
[00:09:29] of course, and some of them I agree with
[00:09:33] and some of them I don't.
[00:09:34] But one of them, I guess you would say
[00:09:37] primary reasons I believe that the tree
[00:09:40] of the knowledge of good and evil had to be there
[00:09:42] is because there is no true love and relationship
[00:09:47] if there's not choice, okay?
[00:09:50] You think about it, if you have no choice
[00:09:54] to choose, you know, for instance,
[00:09:57] if I put up here, I say, okay, you know,
[00:10:01] there's a $1 bill, you can have it or not have it, right?
[00:10:05] Well, you know, you want the $1 bill,
[00:10:07] you want some money, you'll take the $1 bill.
[00:10:08] But if I put up here a $1 bill and a $20 bill
[00:10:11] and I say, you choose, all right,
[00:10:13] now you have a real choice, right?
[00:10:16] You can decide, huh, what do I want?
[00:10:18] All right, that's the point.
[00:10:20] God gave, I believe that it was put there
[00:10:23] so mankind could choose, choose to obey or not obey.
[00:10:27] Of course, the Lord, he knew the end from the beginning
[00:10:30] so he knew that man would choose to not obey
[00:10:33] and so that's why it talks about
[00:10:35] before the foundation of the world
[00:10:38] that it was planned that the Lamb of God,
[00:10:40] the Word of God would come, take on a human body
[00:10:45] and pay the price for mankind to show mankind
[00:10:48] that I love you in spite of the fact
[00:10:52] that I knew you were gonna blow it, all right?
[00:10:56] So God knows the end from the beginning
[00:10:58] but also this is what kind of struck me this morning
[00:11:02] as I was getting ready for this class
[00:11:03] was when you understand what we covered last week,
[00:11:09] what went on before Adam and Eve,
[00:11:11] what went on with Satan before he fell
[00:11:15] and that he had a throne here
[00:11:17] and he had kingdoms and cities
[00:11:18] and there was an angelic kingdom here
[00:11:21] and then there was a great rebellion
[00:11:23] and that's where we have the fall of Satan
[00:11:26] and like I said last week,
[00:11:27] it had to happen before the Garden of Eden, right?
[00:11:31] And really, when you think of it,
[00:11:32] I believe in six literal days of re-creation here
[00:11:37] and what's interesting is you'd have to have the fall
[00:11:42] of Satan in some days right before day six
[00:11:47] and when did it, was it day one, was it day two?
[00:11:50] It just doesn't make sense that within that
[00:11:52] was when was this big rebellion of Satan
[00:11:55] and a third of the angels and there was war in heaven.
[00:11:58] So that's what we covered last week
[00:12:00] and I was just thinking about how that knowledge
[00:12:05] of that war and of that rebellion
[00:12:09] and of that sin of Satan and the angels who followed him,
[00:12:13] all of that knowledge of evil was hidden from Adam and Eve.
[00:12:20] They didn't know it
[00:12:22] because God said, when he made them,
[00:12:24] he created them, they were new creatures,
[00:12:27] they were sinless, they didn't know what sin was
[00:12:31] and they were in a perfect environment,
[00:12:34] they had a perfect relationship with God,
[00:12:36] he would come down in the cool of the day
[00:12:38] and meet with them and talk with them
[00:12:40] and so what I'm getting at is,
[00:12:42] God didn't want them to have knowledge of that.
[00:12:44] There was no need for them to know about it
[00:12:47] but the knowledge of good and evil did exist
[00:12:51] because of everything that happened
[00:12:53] with Satan and the angels who followed him in the rebellion.
[00:12:58] So what I'm saying is really,
[00:13:00] the tree, whether it was a tree there
[00:13:02] to represent and to say that this is something
[00:13:08] that does exist, it still existed,
[00:13:12] whether there was a tree there to represent it or not.
[00:13:15] You get what I'm saying?
[00:13:17] So it's almost like the Lord had to,
[00:13:24] he had to allow it to be there because it did exist
[00:13:29] but he and his wisdom's like,
[00:13:33] I'm gonna present, here's a choice,
[00:13:35] this tree of this hidden knowledge of the fallen angels
[00:13:40] and all of their power and works
[00:13:45] and then there's the tree of life
[00:13:46] and who did that represent?
[00:13:50] The tree of life represents Jesus.
[00:13:52] He said, I am the way, the truth and the life.
[00:13:57] So even back then in the Garden of Eden,
[00:13:59] God was giving us a picture of the tree
[00:14:02] of the knowledge of good and evil
[00:14:04] has to do with Satan and the fallen angels
[00:14:06] and all of the stuff that happened with them
[00:14:10] and how they work and operate
[00:14:13] and their power and everything, okay?
[00:14:17] And so that's gonna make sense as we,
[00:14:19] more sense to you as we get into this this morning.
[00:14:24] And remember, Jesus talks about the tree of life
[00:14:27] in the book of Revelation.
[00:14:28] He says the tree of life is in the midst
[00:14:30] of the garden and he said that when we make it to,
[00:14:36] when this age is over and for those who are born again
[00:14:41] through faith in Jesus and have repented of their sins
[00:14:44] and have lived for the Lord,
[00:14:45] it says we will have access to the tree of life.
[00:14:49] So we're not only going to be with Jesus
[00:14:53] but we're gonna have access to this tree as well.
[00:14:56] So anyway, it's just interesting
[00:14:59] when you start looking at it.
[00:15:00] But I do believe these are literal trees
[00:15:02] with literal fruit that have eternal
[00:15:06] and spiritual consequences to them.
[00:15:10] These consequences are benefits
[00:15:12] depending on the tree you pick, right?
[00:15:14] Let's look at this because it's gonna make more sense
[00:15:17] as we delve into it.
[00:15:18] Now, of course, Eve knew the command of God
[00:15:21] and it's funny, we talk about,
[00:15:22] we've been talking about the Torah observance
[00:15:26] and their deception that they think
[00:15:29] that they can go back to the 613 laws
[00:15:34] of the Mosaic covenant and they're gonna be able
[00:15:36] to keep them enough to stay right with God.
[00:15:40] It's funny, in the Garden of Eden,
[00:15:41] they had one commandment, just one,
[00:15:44] and couldn't keep that one, right?
[00:15:46] Pretty bad.
[00:15:47] Mankind's not real good on keeping commandments.
[00:15:51] We fail and fall short even when we're trying.
[00:15:55] So anyway, we learned some things here,
[00:15:58] but this is what I want you to really focus in on here too.
[00:16:02] We're gonna talk about this a good bit.
[00:16:04] The thing the serpent said,
[00:16:05] now there's several things.
[00:16:06] Of course he said, yay hath God said.
[00:16:10] Well, I guess we need to start there.
[00:16:12] When Satan is going to operate,
[00:16:15] when he is going to deceive, okay?
[00:16:18] The first thing that he has to get you
[00:16:21] to question, to doubt,
[00:16:24] or that he's got to try to twist and manipulate
[00:16:27] is what has God really said?
[00:16:30] He always goes after the word of God.
[00:16:32] Now why is that?
[00:16:34] Because the word of God is truth.
[00:16:37] And so if he's gonna get you away from the truth,
[00:16:39] he's gotta get you doubting, questioning,
[00:16:44] reasoning somehow that the word,
[00:16:48] did God really mean what he said here?
[00:16:51] You know, is this literal?
[00:16:53] Is this metaphorical?
[00:16:54] Is this optional?
[00:16:56] You know, that's what the devil,
[00:16:59] his main priority in everybody's life,
[00:17:02] and especially the life of Christians is,
[00:17:04] can he cast doubt?
[00:17:06] Can he cast, can he somehow get you to,
[00:17:11] for a moment start questioning,
[00:17:13] what is God really saying?
[00:17:14] For instance, God says thou shall not commit adultery.
[00:17:17] That's pretty straightforward, right?
[00:17:19] But the devils can come along and say,
[00:17:21] well, is it really adultery?
[00:17:25] If you really love the person,
[00:17:30] God really means that if you don't really love them.
[00:17:34] And this is the kind of thing I'm talking about.
[00:17:35] He just starts this weird justification process,
[00:17:40] this weird twisting.
[00:17:42] It's always that way, right?
[00:17:44] That's always how he works.
[00:17:47] But of course, what is God saying?
[00:17:49] And then when he says that,
[00:17:52] and then of course he said,
[00:17:54] yea he hath God said,
[00:17:55] and then he said,
[00:17:56] ye shall not eat of every tree in the garden.
[00:17:59] This is vitally important to understand.
[00:18:02] The way Satan deceives people a lot of times,
[00:18:06] and even now with even people into the Illuminati,
[00:18:09] that you think, well, how did people end up,
[00:18:12] how did people end up in the occult?
[00:18:14] How did they end up in Freemasonry or witchcraft
[00:18:17] or Wicca or Satanism, or how did they end up there?
[00:18:21] They didn't start out going,
[00:18:23] yeah, I wanna be a child, molesting, sacrificing,
[00:18:27] black magic, demon-possessed freak.
[00:18:31] That's usually not how they start out.
[00:18:33] They start out with believing the lie.
[00:18:36] First of all, that God's word is not true
[00:18:39] or not exactly right.
[00:18:43] And then he says, shall you not eat of every tree?
[00:18:47] The devil will try to come in and convince you
[00:18:51] that God is keeping you from things
[00:18:55] that you could be enjoying.
[00:18:59] He wants you to feel like God is being mean to you, right?
[00:19:08] Why can't I have this?
[00:19:10] Why can't I do this?
[00:19:14] Oh, come on now, you all know what I'm talking about.
[00:19:20] Christianity is boring, that's right.
[00:19:23] Why can't, you know, the devil has all the cool music.
[00:19:29] Have you heard that one before?
[00:19:30] That's because he's a master musician.
[00:19:35] He's got built-in instruments.
[00:19:38] Yeah, he's good at music, you're right.
[00:19:41] But he always wants to make you feel like,
[00:19:46] wait a minute, you mean to tell me.
[00:19:50] This is what the devil's saying to her.
[00:19:52] God has, he didn't tell you you can eat
[00:19:55] from every single tree.
[00:19:57] You mean he's holding one out on you?
[00:20:00] He told you you can't have a what?
[00:20:07] How many, you guys know what I'm talking about?
[00:20:11] You know, we've all heard that voice,
[00:20:13] especially when we were younger.
[00:20:16] Oh man, the adults tell me not to do this,
[00:20:20] but man, why, I'm gonna do it.
[00:20:24] We always, why is it we always want that
[00:20:26] which is forbidden from us?
[00:20:30] You know, I've told the story many times about the sheep.
[00:20:34] You know, we read, in our leadership class,
[00:20:36] we're gonna be reading,
[00:20:37] Shepherd looks at the 23rd Psalm.
[00:20:40] And he, I remember in that book,
[00:20:41] he was talking about how he could,
[00:20:43] he would prepare the perfect green pasture
[00:20:47] for his sheep to graze in.
[00:20:50] And he would find some of their neck caught in the fence,
[00:20:54] stretching through the fence on the other side
[00:20:56] to eat the weeds, on the other side of the,
[00:21:00] he said, it's just unreal.
[00:21:01] They just never could be satisfied.
[00:21:04] That's what he provided.
[00:21:06] They always wanted what was outside the fence.
[00:21:09] But anyway, that's one of the things
[00:21:12] and the woman said, no, no, no,
[00:21:13] we can eat of all the trees except for one, just one.
[00:21:19] So the devil goes, huh, I didn't work out too good.
[00:21:24] She's made a good point.
[00:21:27] We're pretty much free.
[00:21:28] It's the only one we can eat from.
[00:21:30] That's not too bad of a deal.
[00:21:32] So the devil goes, hmm.
[00:21:34] Got to try something else with this one.
[00:21:36] All right, so what does he say?
[00:21:40] He says here to the woman,
[00:21:41] first of all, you shall not surely die.
[00:21:45] Now this is what he always does.
[00:21:47] Basically what the devil always tries to do
[00:21:51] is take away the consequences for disobedience to God.
[00:21:57] Take away the judgment, the penalty, the pain.
[00:22:03] Now this is a direct lie.
[00:22:05] God said, you eat of it, you're going to die.
[00:22:10] The devil says, no, you can disobey God here
[00:22:15] in this one commandment and you're not going to die.
[00:22:19] All right, now this lie,
[00:22:24] and I've said this many times before,
[00:22:25] I've taught this, it's in my book,
[00:22:27] Grace Abuse, the whole chapter on this.
[00:22:29] This is the oldest lie in the book.
[00:22:30] This is where we get the satanic demonic doctrine
[00:22:34] of once you're saved, you're always saved,
[00:22:36] no matter how you live.
[00:22:37] That there is no, if you are in,
[00:22:42] Jesus Christ, if you are, you know,
[00:22:46] if you're born again, then there's nothing you can do
[00:22:51] that will ever bring you to the point of spiritual death,
[00:22:54] damnation, separation from God, or going to hell.
[00:22:59] You know, and as I've preached and taught many times,
[00:23:01] the Bible doesn't teach that at all.
[00:23:02] You can decide to go back and live in rebellion and sin
[00:23:06] as a homosexual, an adulterer, a drunkard, an idolater.
[00:23:10] The things that the New Testament lists out,
[00:23:12] and if you live in those sins habitually,
[00:23:14] the consequences are you will be separated from God forever,
[00:23:18] you will experience the second death,
[00:23:21] which is eternal separation from him in hell,
[00:23:25] and that's the consequence.
[00:23:27] But the devil comes along, like with, you know,
[00:23:31] Noel Hadley and some of these others,
[00:23:33] and they'll say, they'll teach these things,
[00:23:34] no, there's no hell, there's no consequences,
[00:23:39] there's no punishment, there's no death.
[00:23:42] And remember, again, death does not mean ceasing to exist.
[00:23:47] We learned this last semester in our redemption class,
[00:23:52] and I say that because some people just joined us
[00:23:55] in the second semester, so they didn't, they weren't here.
[00:23:57] But death, the true biblical definition of death
[00:24:01] is separation from God who is life, it's a severing.
[00:24:05] You don't cease to exist.
[00:24:06] You will live forever either with God
[00:24:08] or you will live forever with God in heaven

[00:24:58] and we can turn to him and ask for forgiveness

[00:25:06] if I do mess up, there is still hope for me.
[00:25:10] To me, the worst part of hell is gonna be, that's it.
[00:25:15] There's no crying, there's no repenting,
[00:25:18] there's no prayer, there's nothing gonna change.
[00:25:21] It's the final it, that's it.
[00:25:28] So you think about, let's just say there were no flames,
[00:25:31] there was no punishment,
[00:25:32] there was no aspect of suffering to hell,
[00:25:36] just separation from God forever.
[00:25:41] No hope of that changing forever.

[00:25:51] But it exists, there's consequences.
[00:25:53] The devil is the one, and that's why I say
[00:25:55] there's nothing new under the sun.
[00:25:56] The devil is the one that always tries to remove
[00:25:59] the consequences for sin, disobedience, rebellion,
[00:26:05] giving in to the lust and the pleasures of this life
[00:26:09] and just indulging oneself,
[00:26:12] what people call hedonism, just complete worldliness,
[00:26:16] just complete giving themselves over.

[00:26:21] giving yourself over to like fornication,
[00:26:24] just becoming a complete sexually immoral person

[00:26:35] or with just pursuing pleasures of this life.
[00:26:41] The pleasures of the flesh, we really should say, right?

[00:55:12] the ones following Satan, the devil that are deceived,

[00:55:21] their illumination, their abilities,

[00:56:26] and even in daycare centers and stuff.
[00:56:28] I mean, they are pushing this like nobody's,
[00:56:31] this is the agenda of the Satanists, the witches,
[00:56:36] the Luciferian elite.
[00:56:37] This is the spirituality.
[00:56:40] They are pushing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
[00:56:43] on the world, and they're pushing it hard and heavy.

[00:56:56] but they have all kinds of names for it.

[00:57:52] before Sal came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior,

[00:58:00] transcendental meditation, he started doing it.
[00:58:02] And he told me, and we had to pray over this
[00:58:05] in the deliverance session and break this stronghold
[00:58:08] and cast this spirit out that he opened the door to,
[00:58:10] but he started doing meditation,
[00:58:12] this satanic meditation.
[00:58:15] And he said that he saw it, he had his eyes closed,
[00:58:19] but he could see it.
[00:58:20] And there's this little blue flame
[00:58:21] that started right here in his forehead,
[00:58:24] right between his eyes, and he said it opened up
[00:58:29] and he could see his brain open up
[00:58:30] and then all of a sudden he could see the spirit realm,
[00:58:33] he could see spirits, he could see lights,
[00:58:36] he could see things around people.
[00:58:38] He said it was almost instantaneous for him when he started.
[00:58:44] And he said, he would always see
[00:58:46] the little blue flame first, right here.
[00:58:49] And then it was like he could see into the spirit realm.
[00:58:54] And then he said he began to see demons everywhere.
[00:58:59] And he said to the point, he said it got so bad
[00:59:01] that he said the demons would jump on him and torn,
[00:59:06] I mean, he just would see, Sal will tell you this,
[00:59:09] he's gonna share his testimony before long here.
[00:59:12] But he said that he became, after doing this
[00:59:16] and opening himself up to this,
[00:59:18] that seeing all this stuff in the spirit realm
[00:59:21] and all these spirits and all these lights
[00:59:23] and all this stuff, he said, he hardly could sleep.
[00:59:27] And he said that they began to torment him so bad
[00:59:32] that he felt like they were gonna kill him.
[00:59:34] He said, and they start trying to convince him
[00:59:36] that everything in the world that he saw physically
[00:59:40] was just an illusion, a hologram,
[00:59:42] a projection that it wasn't real.
[00:59:44] He said these things almost convinced him,
[00:59:46] say go throw yourself off the bridge over there,
[00:59:49] this high, high bridge,
[00:59:51] because you're gonna find out it's not real.
[00:59:52] He said, they were trying to get me to kill myself
[00:59:54] by tricking me into throwing myself off a bridge.
[01:00:00] I think the devil was really after him
[01:00:02] because the devil knew that God wanted him too
[01:00:07] and that God had a call on his hand on him for a reason.
[01:00:11] But he really went after Sal.
[01:00:13] But Sal talked about when he came to Jesus,
[01:00:16] how he saw many of these demons,
[01:00:19] just dozens and dozens of them when Jesus came in,
[01:00:23] fleeing from him.
[01:00:24] And recently he said, even after coming to the Lord,
[01:00:27] he still had that blue flame would appear.
[01:00:30] And so what we had to do is go in and in Jesus' name
[01:00:34] and with Jesus' power and authority
[01:00:35] and break the link that he created.
[01:00:37] There was a spiritual link demon
[01:00:39] that causes when you open,
[01:00:41] when you eat of this tree,
[01:00:43] when you delve into their techniques and practices,
[01:00:46] you open a door, a demon comes in
[01:00:48] and a demon forges a link between your soul
[01:00:51] and your spirit man.
[01:00:53] And that enables you to see into the spirit world
[01:00:57] as they want you to see.
[01:00:58] Again, you're not always seeing reality all the time.
[01:01:01] You're seeing some reality

[01:02:51] and you're beginning to spiritually evolve into a God.

[01:04:38] Lorenzo Snow was in Nauvoo, Illinois,

[01:04:47] and he asked Brother Sherwood to explain
[01:04:49] a passage of scripture while attentively listening
[01:04:52] to his explanation.

[01:04:55] the Spirit of the Lord rested mightily upon me.
[01:04:58] The eyes of my understanding were opened.
[01:05:01] Now he's talking about it's the Lord, but it wasn't.

[01:09:44] The Holy Spirit came on them.
[01:09:45] They spoke in tongues and prophesied
[01:09:47] they were baptized in the Holy Spirit.
[01:09:48] Paul stays there for another two years.
[01:09:51] Paul, after he found these 12 disciples
[01:09:54] and they were baptized in the Holy Spirit,
[01:09:55] the evidence of speaking in tongues
[01:09:56] and the gift of prophecy.
[01:09:58] Verse eight says that he went into the synagogue
[01:10:00] and spoke boldly for the space of three months,
[01:10:02] disputing and persuading of the things

[01:11:39] the city of Ephesus was a worshiper of the goddess Diana.

[01:13:30] it could be just a piece of wood or metal

[01:13:35] but he said it's the demon on it.
[01:13:37] If you're into idolatry, he says,
[01:13:40] you're having fellowship with demons.

[01:13:48] that are having demon problems
[01:13:52] and they finally, through Paul's preaching and teaching,
[01:13:55] I believe understood that the reason
[01:13:57] they're having demon problems with Satan's demons
[01:14:02] is because we're opening the door,
[01:14:04] we're giving them place with these curious arts.
[01:14:08] So when people started repenting
[01:14:10] and not wanting Satan's operation
[01:14:14] and strongholds in their lives,
[01:14:16] they finally, they brought these curious arts,
[01:14:19] the books and the stuff that train them to do this,
[01:14:22] they brought this in burning.
[01:14:24] And I'm sure, I'm sure the ones that are doing this
[01:14:27] are the ones who are becoming Christians
[01:14:29] and listening to Paul and following the gospel
[01:14:32] that Paul was preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

[01:14:48] there's a wisdom from above and from beneath.

[01:15:26] But notice he says there is a wisdom.
[01:15:30] Satan has wisdom.
[01:15:31] Remember we read this last week in Ezekiel 28
[01:15:36] when it said that Satan before he fell,
[01:15:40] when he was the anointed cherub,
[01:15:44] it said there that he, what?
[01:15:48] Was full of wisdom, perfect in beauty, right?
[01:15:56] He's full of it all right.
[01:16:00] But his wisdom now is completely against the Bible,
[01:16:08] the word of God, God of creation,
[01:16:11] the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Lord Jesus Christ.
[01:16:14] His wisdom is anti-Christ, all right?
[01:16:19] And I want you to say it, let's read that again.
[01:16:21] Verse 15, this wisdom descended not from above
[01:16:27] but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
[01:16:32] And the word sensual can also mean not just fleshly
[01:16:36] but it can mean natural, natural,
[01:16:39] of nature, of observation.
[01:16:45] Again, there's wisdom that's devilish.
[01:16:49] And then he goes on to say,
[01:16:50] for where envying and strife is,
[01:16:52] there is confusion in every evil work.
[01:16:55] But the wisdom that is from above, from God,
[01:16:58] he's talking about, is first pure,
[01:17:01] then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated,
[01:17:04] full of mercy and good fruits
[01:17:06] without partiality, without hypocrisy.
[01:17:11] So I want you to see that he's very, very clear
[01:17:15] that there is a wisdom that's devilish
[01:17:19] and there is a wisdom that is from God.

[01:17:26] and asking God in Jesus name for wisdom.

[01:17:42] This is a good prayer to pray for yourself right here.

[01:17:47] In verse 15, Paul writes by the Holy Spirit here,

[01:17:55] in the Lord Jesus and love unto all the saints,

[01:18:00] making mention of you in my prayers
[01:18:02] and that making mention is a present tense Greek verb,

[01:18:06] Ongoing continuously, presently.
[01:18:09] So Paul said, I always pray this prayer for you
[01:18:12] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,

[01:18:17] the spirit of wisdom and revelation
[01:18:19] in the knowledge of him.

[01:18:23] The spirit of wisdom and revelation

[01:18:39] the true scriptures, not the ascension of Isaiah

[01:19:33] If it's not wisdom that's revealing truth,
[01:19:37] the nature, the character, the blessings,
[01:19:44] both the blessings of God and the judgment of God,
[01:19:47] the mercy of God and the wrath of God,
[01:19:50] if it's not showing the truth of the God of the Bible,
[01:19:55] then it's not, your eyes are not being enlightened.

[01:20:02] because these are foundational things to spiritual warfare

[01:20:10] There are people out there right now,
[01:20:12] there are Christians that are convinced
[01:20:13] that they're having spiritual visions and dreams

[01:20:28] to test them, to test the spirits from the scripture

[01:22:43] of his inheritance in the saints?
[01:22:45] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power
[01:22:47] to us who believe according to the working
[01:22:50] of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ
[01:22:53] when he raised him from the dead
[01:22:55] and set him at his own right hand in heavenly places,
[01:22:58] far above all principality and power and might and dominion,
[01:23:01] and every name that is named, not only in this world,
[01:23:03] but that which is to come
[01:23:05] and hath put all things under his feet
[01:23:06] and gave him to be the head over all things

[01:23:17] the understanding, your eyes being enlightened,
[01:23:20] all is all about the hope of his calling.

[01:23:28] And it's all about understanding the power
[01:23:30] in Jesus Christ that we have,
[01:23:33] the power of his resurrection, get this,
[01:23:36] that that's over all principalities
[01:23:38] and power and might and dominion, right?
[01:23:42] See, what we need to be growing in
[01:23:44] and learning in and developing in
[01:23:46] is understanding how to increase our power
[01:23:51] and authority in him.
[01:23:53] And that just comes by understanding.
[01:23:54] That comes by spending time with him.
[01:23:56] That becomes by him increasing your wisdom
[01:23:59] and knowledge and understanding
[01:24:01] and the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit on you
[01:24:05] so that you can defeat Satan's principalities
[01:24:08] and powers and the rules of the darkness
[01:24:10] and the wicked spirits in high places.
[01:24:12] That's what this is all about.
[01:24:14] And Ephesians what goes on to say,
[01:24:16] you know, he's talking about it here in Ephesians one,
[01:24:18] because in Ephesians six, what does he say?
[01:24:22] Ephesians chapter six, he says right here
[01:24:27] tells you verse 12, we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
[01:24:32] but against principalities, against powers,
[01:24:35] against the rulers of the darkness of this world
[01:24:37] and against spiritual wickedness in high places
[01:24:40] or wicked spirits in heavenly places.
[01:24:43] We are at war with these satanic fallen angels
[01:24:47] and the demon spirits that are called principalities,
[01:24:50] powers of darkness, wicked spirits in heavenly places,
[01:24:54] in the heavenly spiritual realms,
[01:24:56] as well as in the realm in which we live.
[01:25:00] He's known as the prince and the power of the air.
[01:25:02] Satan's called the God of this world, the little G.

[01:25:09] He has power, but what God wants us to be getting,

[01:25:21] get your eyes open to the fact that in Jesus Christ,

[01:25:41] Anything that takes you away from that

[01:27:00] and do the 12 positions of bowing to the sun God and yoga?

[01:30:57] would be truly where our eyes are opened
[01:31:00] and where we would learn of you, Jesus
[01:31:02] and where we would understand that there's a difference
[01:31:06] between the two trees and that you are the way,
[01:31:09] the truth and the life, Jesus
[01:31:10] and that we're to learn of you and follow you
[01:31:12] and to the point where understanding
[01:31:14] the power of your resurrection
[01:31:15] and the power we have and the authority we have
[01:31:19] in your name, Jesus, as true born again believers
[01:31:23] to resist the demons, to resist the devil,
[01:31:26] make him flee, to cast out demons,
[01:31:28] to bind and take authority and hinder
[01:31:31] the works of darkness in people's lives
[01:31:33] and to destroy the works of darkness
[01:31:36] and Satan in people's lives
[01:31:38] in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
[01:31:41] and that is the great war.
[01:31:42] We are at war with these principalities
[01:31:46] and powers of Satan and their occult wisdom
[01:31:50] and the people that are yielding to
[01:31:53] and given in to those occult practices
[01:31:55] and becoming tools of Satan against the gospel
[01:31:59] and against us Christians and against the truth.
[01:32:04] Lord, we just pray, bring revelation
[01:32:06] or bring people out of this,
[01:32:09] bring people to deliverance.
[01:32:10] If they've opened the door to demons
[01:32:12] through essential oils or meditation
[01:32:15] or visualization or contemplative prayer
[01:32:18] or any type of Hindu Buddhist meditation, chanting,
[01:32:24] anything that they've opened up through Mormonism
[01:32:26] or going into different false religions
[01:32:30] and practices, Lord, reveal it,
[01:32:33] bring deliverance, bring freedom.
[01:32:37] We pray that, Lord, I know we're going to cover
[01:32:40] deliverance in this course and this class thoroughly
[01:32:44] and Lord, let us all get free
[01:32:46] from any past entanglements and strongholds
[01:32:50] where we gave Satan place in our lives
[01:32:54] and Lord, we ask you to bless these students
[01:32:56] and make all these students, Lord,
[01:32:58] people that go forth and bring people
[01:33:02] out of these dark things
[01:33:03] and drive demons out of them in Jesus' name.
