[00:00:01] Getting some things this morning that I don't give myself a very good grade on [00:00:07] The fruits of the spirit [00:00:09] Some of them I might make a see [00:00:12] Others I'm barely passing with a D and some of them I believe I'm failing at so I want everybody to know [00:00:19] I know that a lot of people out there [00:00:21] I get I get a lot of good emails a lot of positive and encouraging comments and messages. I get a lot of [00:00:27] Negativity a lot of attacks. I you know, I got one lady who loves Harry Potter and and [00:00:34] Committed though to every day just about attacking everything that I say and do [00:00:40] But I tell you the truth I have to admit that [00:00:46] Just in the last few days study and pray and I you know, I know I have a lot of people out there that think you [00:00:51] know that [00:00:53] I think I think they [00:00:56] Think probably more of me than they ought to think because I do have a gift from God [00:01:03] I don't deny that I have a gift from God a call from God to preach to teach [00:01:10] To minister the gospel of Jesus Christ and so that gift comes through [00:01:15] sometimes though I have to admit that it comes through with [00:01:20] Probably a little too much of me a little too much [00:01:24] Arrogance a little too much sometimes too much harshness and not enough gentleness and kindness [00:01:31] And a lot of times it just comes across wrong and and you know what what really hit me is yesterday [00:01:36] I was in my office there praying and preparing [00:01:40] For this message and my wife and daughter they were in there listening to one of my sermons from about two years ago [00:01:48] and I'm hearing myself preaching and [00:01:52] I'm listening to that and even though there's a lot of positive reviews on that message. I could barely listen to it [00:02:00] I could barely stand to hear it and I thought, you know, I [00:02:04] Have to find I know for me I have to see God and I need to find more balance in my life [00:02:11] Now when I say all this [00:02:13] I'm not talking about there's nothing wrong with being bold [00:02:17] There's nothing wrong with being confident or even being strong [00:02:20] We're called to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might [00:02:25] Proverbs 28 says the righteous are bold as a lion [00:02:29] I'm not talking about being weak. I'm not talking about tolerating evil or sin or [00:02:35] False teaching false doctrine deception or tolerating demonic stuff. I mean, we've got to be strong [00:02:42] We've got to be warriors. We've got to be sometimes we've got to be loud and we've got to be [00:02:47] You know [00:02:49] clear and I think a lot of people out there do appreciate the fact that I don't mince words and [00:02:54] That I tell it like it is and I'm pretty straightforward and blunt and sometimes [00:03:00] But again, sometimes I think too much and I think the Lord's trying to deal with me about particularly [00:03:09] not responding to attacks and [00:03:13] responding to people [00:03:15] so quickly [00:03:16] So this morning I just want to talk about the fruit of the Spirit really talking about loving our enemies [00:03:22] Blessing those who curse us those who were approached us those who do us wrong [00:03:28] You know what we really got to focus on is Jesus said love your enemies think about that [00:03:33] He would just say love each other as Christians. You should we should love one another [00:03:37] I mean we get that admonition all the time in the scriptures, but he says love your enemies [00:03:43] Bless those who curse you [00:03:45] I mean think about that that is [00:03:47] completely opposite of the world and for the most part it's completely opposite of [00:03:53] How we respond when we are attacked blight about misrepresented [00:04:01] Or even sometimes we may even be [00:04:06] Being corrected by someone and we just don't like the fact that they're correcting us [00:04:11] And so we respond out of [00:04:16] Defensiveness and a lot of times I'm just going to be honest. I'm too defensive in [00:04:21] Some of my approach I guess because I deal constantly [00:04:24] with attacks all the time [00:04:27] criticism attacks [00:04:29] spiritual warfare [00:04:31] It gets to be a bit overwhelming sometime [00:04:35] But that still doesn't give us an excuse and all I can say this morning is that I'm gonna be praying that God will help [00:04:41] me change [00:04:42] That God will help me be more [00:04:45] loving [00:04:46] patient kind gentle [00:04:50] Not easily provoked. I think a lot of us we're too easily provoked somebody just pokes us a little bit and whoa boy [00:04:58] We back at it, and that's not what the way God wants us to be. I mean we're either going to be respond [00:05:08] By letting the Holy Spirit work through us or we're going to respond in the flesh and [00:05:15] You know just because you're called to be a pastor or a five-fold minister of the gospel [00:05:20] Doesn't mean that you have it all together or that you're going to always respond in the spirit, and I don't I admit it [00:05:26] And I'm gonna say this I admit that I got a long way to go [00:05:30] I got a long long way to go [00:05:33] trying to mature and [00:05:37] operate in [00:05:39] More like Jesus would and and don't get me wrong [00:05:43] Jesus was strong sometimes wasn't he I mean Jesus looked at the Pharisees and the scribes and [00:05:50] Called them hypocrites and snakes and vipers and you know [00:05:55] whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bones and he threw tables over sometimes and [00:06:01] He called a woman a dog and I mean he he was he was a man. He never sinned [00:06:09] God in the flesh fully God fully man [00:06:12] Never sinned, but yet we see he was not weak [00:06:16] He was not effeminate. He was not a sissy. He was strong [00:06:21] but he knew how to be how to take that strength and [00:06:28] Let it flow at the right time and he knew how to control it in [00:06:35] other time [00:06:36] You think about Jesus being spit upon and beaten and they're telling him. You know they're saying you know [00:06:44] They're just mocking him and even Pilate asking him. Who are you? [00:06:51] Jesus won't even say a word. He's just letting it happen [00:06:54] How many of us would do that I mean he didn't he didn't deserve it. He didn't he didn't do any sin [00:07:04] He didn't break the law. He didn't do anything wrong [00:07:07] He didn't deserve to be beaten and scourged and spit upon and a crown of thorns put on his head and mocked [00:07:13] and let me tell you something beaten by Roman soldiers was no picnic and yet [00:07:22] He didn't defend himself. He didn't speak a word [00:07:28] To the point it just drove Pilate crazy [00:07:33] We have got to learn to be led by the Spirit to know when it's okay to be strong and bold and confront an issue [00:07:41] And when we need to wait when we need to be patient [00:07:46] When we need to be gentle when we need to be meek humble and I can tell admit I fall [00:07:55] horribly short in these areas [00:07:58] Horribly you would think after all these years of walking with Jesus. I'd have it better, but I don't [00:08:05] Let's read this Galatians 5 [00:08:08] He says this [00:08:16] We'll just read from verse 19 now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these [00:08:22] adultery fornication uncleanness lasciviousness [00:08:26] idolatry witchcraft hatred variants emulations [00:08:30] wrath strife sedition heresies envies murder drunkenness revelings and [00:08:36] Such like of which I tell you before as I have also told you in times past that they which do [00:08:41] Such things or practice praso means the word do here is praso and it's a present tense Greek verbs [00:08:48] What means to practice habitually ongoing continuous behavior? [00:08:52] So he says they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God [00:08:56] But the fruit of the spirit is love [00:09:00] joy [00:09:01] peace [00:09:03] long-suffering [00:09:04] gentleness goodness faith [00:09:07] meekness temperance [00:09:09] against such [00:09:10] There is no law and they that are Christ or those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh [00:09:17] With the affections in lust if we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit [00:09:22] Let us not be desirous of vain glory provoking one another envying one another [00:09:28] Now again as I read this I need to put it in the context. This doesn't mean that we will never have to [00:09:35] reprove or rebuke or exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine this doesn't mean that we let [00:09:42] doctrinal error run rampant or we [00:09:45] Ignore demonic and you know activity or we let stuff creep into our homes or our lives or the church [00:09:52] And we don't confront it. I mean there's there's there's two extremes here [00:09:56] I mean there's there's the love and the gentleness and the meekness that just lets anything go as I said in my [00:10:02] introduction to the [00:10:04] To the message this morning for the radio aspect. I said, you know [00:10:09] We don't have to become Joel Osteen where any you know [00:10:12] We're not going to speak out about say anything that's wrong or immoral [00:10:16] We're not you know, we're gonna make homosexuality is okay, and everything's okay. We didn't we know we're not gonna do that [00:10:22] It doesn't mean we become weak. It doesn't mean we accept lies deception error immorality [00:10:29] But we do need to make sure [00:10:32] that we're tempering [00:10:36] and checking ourselves [00:10:38] To make sure are we are we? [00:10:42] Being patient with people because remember this and I want to say this out there is that [00:10:49] You know, we need to always remember as Christians [00:10:52] No matter how long you've been saved and walking with Jesus no matter how much you pray how much you fast how much? [00:10:59] Good you do for the kingdom of God? [00:11:02] No matter how good you think you are [00:11:05] Or how much you've grown or matured and how many things you've overcome and you know [00:11:11] And you're you're happy maybe that you're not you used to be an adulterer. You're not an adulterer anymore used to be a drunkard [00:11:16] You're not a drunkard anymore. You're used to be a drug addict and you're not a drug addict anymore [00:11:21] And all of that is wonderful in Jesus, but you know again, we we we we tend to a lot of times start thinking we do [00:11:26] We're doing pretty good. We're doing pretty good. We're not like those other people out there [00:11:32] but we need to remember [00:11:34] we were and [00:11:37] pride and arrogance and self [00:11:40] righteousness and [00:11:42] self-trust [00:11:43] Can get us we can get us within a breath of being right back there [00:11:49] Pride goes before a fall haughty spirit before destruction. We start thinking you know what I'm better than other people [00:11:57] I got it together more than other people now. That doesn't mean hey, I'm not an adulterer [00:12:02] There are people who are adulterers. There are Christians who are adults. That's not good. I'm not just if I'm not saying hey [00:12:09] We justify it. It's good to not be an adulterer according to this. We just read here, right? [00:12:14] But the bottom line is my righteousness [00:12:19] Doesn't come [00:12:21] From me attaining some level it comes [00:12:24] Through my faith in the blood of Jesus it comes [00:12:29] Because I need him and let me just say this [00:12:33] You know Jesus talked about two men who went up to pray in Luke 18 [00:12:37] And I talked about this a few weeks ago two men who went up to pray and one was a Pharisee very religious very pious [00:12:43] very active in [00:12:46] spiritual stuff [00:12:47] He was faithful in little things faithful the tithe [00:12:52] Faithful to be in the temple faithful to keep the Sabbath [00:12:54] He was faithful faithful faithful to do everything just right and just perfect and he goes up to the place of prayer and he sees this [00:13:02] Publican this tax collector who was known for cheating people out of money and [00:13:09] He's sitting there Lord. Lord. I thank you. I'm not like other men. I do this I do that I pay tithes I [00:13:18] Think you that I'm not like this publican [00:13:21] But the publican lifts up is his eyes to heaven and said Lord be merciful to me a sinner [00:13:26] And Jesus said that man went down justified not the other [00:13:33] We can get to a place [00:13:35] And it's very easy where we are trusting in our righteousness, so we're trusting in our goodness [00:13:42] So we're trusting in our our are trying to be good and start thinking we're something [00:13:52] Start thinking we're we're better than everybody else and we can come off that way to [00:14:00] condescending [00:14:02] Arrogant prideful high and mighty [00:14:05] We just have to always remind ourselves [00:14:07] You know empathy means you put yourself you put yourself in the place of this of another person and you remember [00:14:15] You don't look at the at the drunkard like I thank God. I'm not like you know I used to be you and I know [00:14:25] That if if it were not for the grace and mercy of God in my life [00:14:30] That there could come a storm of circumstances [00:14:33] Against me and if I didn't have Jesus in me helping me stand strong [00:14:37] I would be right back there with the drunkard drinking again. I know I would be [00:14:47] There is a thin cord holding us, and I don't mean that's Jesus [00:14:56] I mean that thin cord is at any moment the devil [00:15:00] Can bring circumstances against you and he's got an ally already inside of you [00:15:05] He's got an ally when he comes as your flesh will agree with the devil the flesh nature go yeah, devil [00:15:11] I want to drink again, or yeah, devil. I want to take the drugs again, or yeah, devil [00:15:16] I want to go back to sexual immorality or yeah, devil. I the flesh wants to sin [00:15:21] That's why Paul said in me and my flesh there is no good thing [00:15:27] The flesh always wants to do what's wrong. It always wants to lift up itself [00:15:33] It always wants to put self first it always wants to to vindicate itself and justify itself and [00:15:40] Make itself feel good [00:15:43] We all want to be honored and respected and looked up to and all of these things [00:15:49] And it all just gets in the way and when you're called to the ministry [00:16:03] It's even more listen. It's even more difficult [00:16:06] I bet he thinks the ministry is something to to you know the public ministry is so great [00:16:12] But it's actually brings more trouble to you because you you have to be in front of people you have to try to be [00:16:21] You know leadership is not easy [00:16:24] And sometimes you can when you're a leader you can be caving in and struggling on the inside [00:16:29] But you still have to lead so you can't let people see that and i'm not talking about being fake [00:16:33] I'm just talking about you have to be strong [00:16:36] You know you you talk to a platoon leader a sergeant or you know a lieutenant or somebody out in the field [00:16:42] And they're in the heat of a battle. They can't show weakness to their to their [00:16:47] The troops that are under them. They can't show weakness. They can't show fear. They can't show retreat [00:16:53] Or or the others will lose heart, but that doesn't mean they're not struggling [00:16:59] That doesn't mean they're any better than anybody else. So that's what i'm saying leadership. Sometimes leadership takes on even a different kind of a burden [00:17:08] But it also in leadership you can start liking [00:17:12] The position you can start liking people looking to you [00:17:18] That's flesh [00:17:23] I I have such people don't know this they think [00:17:28] I hate this they have no comprehension the battles that I have [00:17:32] Because I see myself sometimes I hear myself [00:17:35] I see the video sometimes and I want to crawl under a rock [00:17:41] And say god, I don't want to do this anymore. I am not fit for this [00:17:48] I'm not a good choice for you to do this [00:17:53] I tell him that people like people think i'm lying [00:17:57] I was telling this yesterday [00:18:00] And then he reminds me well, you don't have a choice [00:18:04] as paul said [00:18:06] What was me if I don't preach the gospel? That's where I find myself [00:18:11] What was me if I don't do? [00:18:13] What god has told me to do? [00:18:18] A lot of people I don't know. It's hard to understand [00:18:24] But I don't do this very well [00:18:26] This fruit of the spirit stuff. I don't [00:18:29] I'm, sorry. I'm, sorry to my small little church family here and even to some of those I have to apologize to [00:18:37] People that have been watching me that I come across the wrong way a lot of times even though i'm preaching truth [00:18:44] I'm trying to give you truth. I think one reason that the lord hasn't struck me down [00:18:50] It's because there's one thing I do is I love the truth of the word of god [00:18:55] I will be bold for the truth. I will speak the truth whether you like it or you don't like it [00:19:02] But I don't always do it [00:19:04] The right way [00:19:12] I'm just being honest this morning. You know, the bible says this let's turn to the book of james [00:19:21] You might say well [00:19:25] Pastor dean don't think i've ever heard you quite [00:19:28] Talk this way james chapter 5 [00:19:44] James chapter 5 verse 16 [00:19:47] He says this he says confess your faults [00:19:50] One to another and pray one for another that you may be healed [00:19:54] The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much [00:19:58] We don't do this too often. Do we? [00:20:01] Do you actually get around brothers and sisters in christ and confess? [00:20:07] Your faults your sins your iniquities your transgressions your misdeeds [00:20:12] You look this word up when it says confess your faults. It means intentional or unintentional [00:20:18] trespasses [00:20:20] Do you do you admit it? This is what i'm trying to do i'm basically i'm having a confession day to you [00:20:29] I know I don't love some of my enemies in the back of my mind [00:20:33] I don't say it but in the back of my mind, I think sometimes god just strike them down [00:20:41] You think i'm the only one who did it [00:20:43] But james and john said lords should we call down fire from heaven upon them [00:20:51] And consume them like elijah did and the lord say you don't know what spirit you're of [00:20:58] Because the lord's trying to teach something [00:21:00] Something to his people that they didn't quite get [00:21:04] See the israelites had to be warriors [00:21:07] for all those centuries after [00:21:09] Leaving the land of egypt they had to they had to be fighters because they had all these [00:21:15] Pagans around them. They had all these enemies around them. They had all these, you know giants [00:21:21] half breed evil [00:21:23] Half fallen angel and half human being [00:21:26] Nations around them and they had to be warriors. They had to be fighters. They had to be strong brutal [00:21:33] And jesus comes in as they establishing the new testament the new covenant [00:21:38] And he's like you've heard it said you go to matter of fact go with me go to matthew five [00:21:42] Jesus will say you've you've you've heard it said to hate your enemies [00:21:48] deuteronomy [00:21:50] There were there were people groups that god told the israelites. You can make no peace with them [00:21:58] You will have perpetual war with them [00:22:04] Matthew chapter five [00:22:11] verse 43 [00:22:16] Jesus said you have heard [00:22:18] That it has been said that thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy [00:22:23] But I say unto you love your enemies [00:22:26] Bless them that curse you and do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you [00:22:32] And persecute you that you may be the children of your father [00:22:35] Which is in heaven for he maketh his son to rise on the evil and on the good and he sendeth rain on the just [00:22:41] and the unjust [00:22:42] For if you love them that love you what reward have you [00:22:46] Do not even the publicans the same and if you salute your brethren only what do you more than others? [00:22:52] Do not even the public and so [00:22:55] Be therefore perfect even as your father, which is in heaven is perfect [00:22:59] And this word perfect can mean also complete or whole or mature [00:23:03] All he's saying is if you just love the people that love you [00:23:07] That's nothing [00:23:09] But guess what? [00:23:11] Most of us don't even do that [00:23:15] Love you know what love means love true. Love the word agape [00:23:21] Or agape. Oh in the greek language [00:23:24] And really was not in the greek classical greek. It was added after christianity came in [00:23:31] Because they needed they needed a word to describe the love of god working through [00:23:36] Somebody or god's love and how it works [00:23:39] And really what god's love is about is god said [00:23:43] If you look it up and in my hebrew greek study bible that I have it's got a great definition of it [00:23:49] But it talks about that how that love does what is best for others [00:23:56] Even when the others may not even agree [00:24:01] It looks upon others first [00:24:07] It doesn't seek itself first [00:24:10] That's why jesus said greater love has no man than this that a man would lay down his life for his friend [00:24:16] What's he saying there? [00:24:18] You're willing to give up your life to save somebody's life. You are completely thinking about the other [00:24:25] You are completely concerned about what's best for the other [00:24:29] Not yourself [00:24:32] And that is the love of god now. There's there's so many aspects to this because the love of god [00:24:39] You can't separate the love of god from the truth of scripture [00:24:43] Truth will not rejoice in a lie. It only rejoices in the truth. Love does i'll show you that scripture in a minute [00:24:51] So love is about the truth. That's why paul says speak the truth in love [00:24:56] You got to speak the truth. The truth is the scripture. I got to tell you the truth [00:25:01] Even if you like it or not [00:25:02] That is a demonstration of love [00:25:05] But also the bible talks about love covers a multitude of sins meaning. I don't have to talk about every sin you commit [00:25:13] I don't have to bring it up to your face. I don't have to shove it in your face [00:25:16] I can overlook a lot of stuff because guess what? [00:25:20] God does it for me [00:25:26] So I should be patient with you [00:25:29] And you should be patient with each other [00:25:32] Right [00:25:34] Listen, a lot of you and some of them aren't here today [00:25:38] Still doing stupid stuff that frustrates me to no end [00:25:41] I sit back sometimes and go will they ever grow up and learn and stop doing these things and then the lord reminds me [00:25:47] But you're still doing stuff. You shouldn't be doing too [00:25:53] So I don't say I don't say anything [00:25:57] And just pray you know what to do [00:25:58] God, I pray [00:26:01] We all listen. We're all carrying a whole bunch of baggage [00:26:05] from our past [00:26:07] We're carrying baggage from our parents and grandparents [00:26:11] We're carrying baggage from wounds and sins and things done to us when we were children [00:26:15] We're carrying baggage to stuff that has happened to us in this life hurt rejection pain abuse [00:26:21] We're all carrying a bunch of baggage [00:26:24] And we don't always respond the way we should [00:26:33] I don't look i'm carrying a bunch of it [00:26:37] I've sought god for years for our healing [00:26:40] deliverance [00:26:43] For the stuff that happened to me when I was a kid [00:26:47] I'm still not there yet. I got I know I have a lot of baggage and a lot of times I know [00:26:57] That the way i'm responding to the situation [00:27:02] Is still that little boy that's trying to defend himself. I know that [00:27:14] a lot of you the way the the reason you respond to wait to [00:27:18] people when you're attacked or when you're misrepresented or lied about or [00:27:23] you're hurt by somebody in some way or [00:27:27] Now the reason why you don't respond in love and you strike back hard or quick or in a wrong manner [00:27:33] That's really that child [00:27:35] Yeah, there's so many there's so many adults that were abused kids and i'm talking about physically mentally and mostly even sexually abused children [00:27:45] that never fully [00:27:48] Got healed or delivered from it [00:27:50] And even if you do I think there are times just like with jacob when the lord they said the lord [00:27:57] You know wounded jacob as jacob was wrestling with him all night and the lord wounded him in his in his leg [00:28:04] He said jacob walked with a limp the rest of his life [00:28:08] And I think that was too, you know, god could have healed him in a moment [00:28:13] There's nothing too hard for the creator [00:28:16] Nothing too hard for jesus to heal or fix [00:28:19] Whether it be spiritual emotional mental or physical nothing. I've seen the lord do [00:28:26] All kinds of miracles. Sometimes he doesn't take it all [00:28:29] So that you won't get prideful so that you'll remember [00:28:33] Where you came from and that you needed [00:28:36] Sometimes you got to walk with a limp the rest of your life [00:28:41] So that you don't think you got it all together and you have no problems and jesus loves you more than other people [00:28:50] I know I still walk with a limp from the wounds of my past. I even walk with a limp from wounds [00:28:57] I suffered from disobedience [00:29:00] literal [00:29:02] Wound in my ankle that I walked with [00:29:06] I pray for other people and they get healed. I pray for this to get healed and guess what god doesn't heal it [00:29:12] And what a paul paul had a problem. I believe with his eyes and he said he sought the lord over to heal me jesus [00:29:17] Heal me paul would go pray for the dead and raise the dead [00:29:21] He would pray for the the sick the lame the cripple would walk paul would cast demons out of people [00:29:27] And groups of people would get healed yet paul himself [00:29:30] God said nope not not taking this from you [00:29:34] because if I do [00:29:36] Satan's pride's gonna get you do I still believe jesus heals? Yes [00:29:46] Does he heal everything all the time for at any point? No [00:29:53] You say I don't understand why I can pray for this person and they get healed [00:29:56] I pray for myself and I don't get healed or I get somebody to pray for me and I don't get healed [00:30:01] But the person next to me got healed [00:30:05] And I say well guess what? [00:30:06] obviously [00:30:08] I still believe jesus knows what he's doing [00:30:11] So there's a reason he is not doing it [00:30:15] There's a reason he did it [00:30:17] Told somebody the other day you think about it. We forget we we read the sometimes we read the gospels and we forget [00:30:24] We figure oh jesus was healing all these people and compared them [00:30:27] They brought all these people to the door and jesus it says heal them all [00:30:30] But we forget the story in john 5 when he went to the pool of Bethesda [00:30:34] And it says there was a great multitude of sick people and he healed one man [00:30:39] Why didn't he heal everybody? [00:30:41] I'm not god. I don't know [00:30:44] But i'm sure he had his reasons [00:30:49] And that's what he comes down to with a lot of this stuff [00:30:51] Do we trust god even when? [00:30:55] It's not working out [00:30:56] The way I wanted to work out or I thought it would work out [00:31:03] Whether it be healing [00:31:05] Whether it be a marriage or a relationship [00:31:10] Whether it be the relationship with a child young or grown [00:31:16] But lord, I prayed I fasted [00:31:18] I've asked you to intervene and it seems like it just gets worse and worse and worse [00:31:25] You know what the lord will say? [00:31:28] What what's the fruit of the spirit? We overlook one of the fruits of spirit faith [00:31:33] faith [00:31:34] believe trust [00:31:36] Even when you don't see see faith faith believes and trust and stands when it doesn't see [00:31:45] If you got a c to believe that's not faith [00:31:49] Amen [00:31:51] There's so many things right now [00:31:57] You know, here's the truth [00:31:59] Of the matter [00:32:01] Goodness, I don't believe i've knocked that off before [00:32:05] But here's the truth [00:32:09] I want people to be saved more than anything else in this world [00:32:14] I want people to come to know jesus [00:32:17] As their lord and savior [00:32:20] I want people to be healed spiritually mentally emotionally physically [00:32:29] and I want to be [00:32:32] a good witness [00:32:34] a good example [00:32:37] And a reason that they would want to come to know [00:32:40] And I don't always do that [00:32:46] I want to but I don't always do it [00:32:49] Now ain't it good to know paul said the things I want to do roman 7. He said there's things I want to do [00:32:53] I don't do [00:32:55] And things I don't want to do [00:32:58] That I do [00:33:02] You know, sometimes i've got the sweetest wife in the world [00:33:08] She's the most hard working [00:33:10] Dedicated [00:33:14] There's not a lazy bone in her body [00:33:18] Sometimes I have to tell her to stop [00:33:20] because she's a [00:33:22] She's a hard worker [00:33:28] And she is always [00:33:30] Thinking about me and how to make my life better and easier and little things all the time [00:33:37] And big [00:33:38] And oh man, don't mess with me. You want to get on her bad side? [00:33:43] Attack her husband, but i'll turn to this person that I love sometimes [00:33:52] And just snap at her [00:33:54] I don't want to do that [00:33:57] I do it though, and i'm like, why do I do this? [00:34:03] Why why why does that come out of my mouth? Why does that attitude come out of my mouth? [00:34:07] Why do I act like that? [00:34:12] And I like jobe. I look at myself. Sometimes people think people think I love myself [00:34:17] Let me tell you something. Most of the time I abhor myself in dust and ashes and wish I could quit and crawl under a rock somewhere [00:34:23] Because I struggle with trying to to be a good husband a good father [00:34:29] A good pastor. I can't even and I don't feel like a lot of most of the time. I don't feel like I do any of them [00:34:35] Well, sometimes I believe sometimes just get barely getting by [00:34:46] and I think [00:34:48] I should I should [00:34:51] I should have this together more [00:34:55] You know, what did Paul's come to in Romans 7 when he said things I don't want to do I do things [00:35:00] I want to do I don't do there's a constant ward my flesh [00:35:06] He said I thank god [00:35:08] Romans 8-1 [00:35:10] There's therefore now no [00:35:13] condemnation [00:35:15] To those who are in Christ Jesus who walked not after the flesh but after spirit, you know what? [00:35:22] When I respond to my wife that way what I have to do I have to I do it all the time I turn around oh i'm [00:35:27] Forgive me. I'm sorry. I don't know why i'm acting like this [00:35:30] Sometimes i'm stubborn and it takes a little while [00:35:36] But she didn't do anything to deserve it and i'm popping off [00:35:46] Y'all know what i'm talking about. Anybody here know what i'm talking about? I said god. I was praying yesterday, please [00:35:55] please [00:35:58] Change me. Please help me [00:36:05] Love more [00:36:07] Be more patient [00:36:09] Be more kind [00:36:13] Be more gentle [00:36:17] And be more humble because i'm not [00:36:27] No, i'm sure a lot of my enemies they're gonna love this one, you know, but I don't care [00:36:31] They'll find something to criticize about it [00:36:38] And go to uh, first Corinthians 13 [00:36:54] You know, I really kind of touched on all these things here this morning [00:37:01] But how can I talk about love and we not even mention the love chapter? [00:37:08] Well, everybody did turn there [00:37:17] Because see I want to ask everybody. I want y'all to be praying because you know [00:37:21] Wednesday we leave [00:37:24] i'm speaking at the [00:37:27] Flat Earth international [00:37:29] conference in Raleigh, North Carolina [00:37:33] I'm speaking on Friday. The conference starts on Thursday [00:37:36] Speaking on Friday and finding out, you know [00:37:39] CBS NBC [00:37:41] BBC [00:37:42] CNN [00:37:44] ABC nightline [00:37:47] all of these [00:37:48] The press is going to be there city morning harrow new yorker [00:37:54] And of course, I know they're there to mock or ridicule or spin [00:37:58] But they're going to be sitting in that room [00:38:02] And there's a lot of unsafe people who'll be sitting in that room a lot of people that don't know jesus as their lord [00:38:06] They don't know the the true creator of the god of the bible [00:38:11] And i'm the only pastor on the list [00:38:16] And you want to talk about feeling a tremendous weight of responsibility [00:38:35] It's overwhelming sometimes [00:38:37] And you know, I feel the same way even speaking to our small church and our audience that has [00:38:43] grown quite a bit [00:38:49] um [00:38:57] You know, i'm just praying for people. I want people that [00:39:02] Are not saved to see jesus [00:39:11] I don't want to get in the way [00:39:14] You know me [00:39:25] See i've just about done all this wrong right here. Let's read this [00:39:36] First Corinthians 13 one though. I speak with the tongues of men and of angels [00:39:40] And it becomes a sounding brass or a tinkling. I have I am become a sounding brass or a tinkling symbol [00:39:47] I speak in tongues of men and angels [00:39:49] I do I have the gift of tongue [00:39:52] yet I lack [00:39:54] Love for people around me and my enemies [00:39:58] Though I have the gift of prophecy [00:40:00] I got that one [00:40:03] He says to understand all mysteries understand a lot of them don't understand all of them [00:40:09] And all knowledge. I certainly don't have all knowledge and though I have all faith that I could move mountains [00:40:14] Or could remove mountains [00:40:16] Don't have that one either [00:40:18] But have not charity or love in actions god's agape selfless [00:40:23] Love I am nothing [00:40:26] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor give my body to be burned and have not charity or love in action true [00:40:33] Jesus Christ love it it profiteth me nothing [00:40:39] True love suffers long. That means it is patient in suffering trials [00:40:45] attacks [00:40:47] I mean long suffering means to suffer long without complaining [00:40:52] Well, i'm a complainer [00:41:01] It says love it says charity suffers long rather or love [00:41:06] suffers long and is kind [00:41:09] But when we're suffering are we kind? [00:41:15] Well, we suffer in different ways mentally emotionally spiritually we can be going through a rough day, but are we kind? [00:41:23] Nope [00:41:28] Says charity suffers long and is kind charity envy is not that means to be jealous [00:41:34] want [00:41:35] something somebody else has or or [00:41:38] You have bad feelings when you see others being blessed [00:41:42] or succeeding [00:41:44] Or getting past you or getting more than you [00:41:48] But love doesn't care about that [00:41:50] You know what love? [00:41:51] Love wants people other people to succeed [00:41:54] And be blessed even more than you [00:41:56] yourself [00:42:00] Charity vaunted not itself. That means it doesn't boast [00:42:04] Is not puffed up [00:42:07] That means prideful [00:42:08] basically through the accumulation of knowledge [00:42:12] Remember paul said in chorathians. He said knowledge puffs up but charity edify. What is he talking about? [00:42:20] Listen some of the most prideful people are people in the truth community that have a bunch of knowledge [00:42:29] But I wouldn't want to be around them because they're mean [00:42:38] I'm sure some people feel that way about me, too [00:42:43] Verse five does not behave itself unseemly [00:42:47] Seeketh not her own [00:42:50] Is not easily provoked [00:42:54] Not easily provoked the word provoked not easily offended [00:42:59] Not easily agitated [00:43:02] by other people's [00:43:04] wrong behavior [00:43:07] All right [00:43:08] Are you easily provoked? [00:43:13] I am I had to apologize to a lady [00:43:19] Just this week [00:43:23] Because she was being snarky on my facebook page. And so I just booted her [00:43:30] You're gone [00:43:32] And she sent me an email. She said I've been liking and sharing your stuff and duh duh duh duh duh [00:43:37] You know what? I have to realize I wasn't patient [00:43:40] I wasn't kind [00:43:42] I was easily provoked. So I apologized and asked her to forgive me [00:43:49] And she did [00:43:50] Isn't that amazing? [00:43:52] You know something folks. Let me just say this before I read any more of this an apology [00:43:57] Can't go a long way [00:44:00] Just say it i'm sorry. Please forgive me [00:44:04] How many things? [00:44:06] Would that heal how many things how say well, I was wrong. I'm sorry. Forgive me [00:44:16] Oh [00:44:20] It's like [00:44:22] Like drinking vinegar in it [00:44:25] We just don't like to do it [00:44:36] Says love is not easily provoked thinketh no evil now this this thinketh no evil [00:44:42] you know what this means you don't automatically assume someone is [00:44:46] evil or bad or [00:44:51] Jump to conclusions now. Here's what some bibles don't have this if you if your bible doesn't have [00:44:56] This here in verse 6 you need to get you a king james or one translated from [00:45:02] The correct text because this should be in here because it's important it says [00:45:05] verse 6 love rejoices not in iniquity [00:45:09] sin trespass evil immorality [00:45:12] injustice [00:45:13] But rejoices in the truth [00:45:16] Now the word rejoice means to be in agreement with to be happy about [00:45:21] So he said love's not going to be happy [00:45:23] with sin iniquity injustice [00:45:27] Trustpasses [00:45:29] But it will rejoice in the truth. And what is the truth? Listen folks? [00:45:32] The only truth we have the only solid truth in this world is the truth of the holy bible. Amen. That's it [00:45:39] And jesus said I am the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the father but through me [00:45:44] And he said lord sanctify them through thy word thy word is truth [00:45:49] amen [00:45:50] john 17 [00:45:52] Truth [00:45:54] This is the truth [00:45:56] So the says if you're walking in love you're going to rejoice in the truth of the bible the truth of scripture [00:46:02] The truth found in jesus christ in the gospel [00:46:06] his death for our sins [00:46:08] his resurrection [00:46:12] But through him through faith we can come into a relationship with almighty god our creator [00:46:18] And we can be forgiven of our trespasses and we can inherit eternal life [00:46:23] And we can receive power from the holy spirit to help other people [00:46:29] See that's what you should rejoice in I do rejoice. I rejoice now i'm going to say this. It's not all bad [00:46:35] I'm hearing great testimonies from people people are getting saved prodigals are coming home people that have fallen away from god into atheism and [00:46:43] agnostics beliefs and and and ancient alien beliefs are coming back to the lord [00:46:49] Through this ministry through the preaching somehow through this flawed vessel god does happen to reach some people [00:46:56] It's not all bad. I'm not trying to be doom and gloom and [00:46:59] think that i'm [00:47:01] You know about to have a nervous breakdown or fall or fall into depression. That's not what's happening. I'm just trying to be honest [00:47:13] But he says love here verse seven bears all things believes all things hopes all things endures all things [00:47:20] Charity or love that comes from god from jesus never fails [00:47:25] But whether they be prophecies they shall fail [00:47:29] Whether they be tongues the day's coming [00:47:32] The gifts shall cease we won't need them anymore [00:47:35] We will be with jesus [00:47:37] Whether there be knowledge it shall vanish away for we know in part [00:47:41] And we prophesy in part [00:47:42] But when that which is perfect has come then that which is in part shall be done away [00:47:46] Of course, there's people that said, you know when that which is perfect has come is the bible [00:47:50] So when the bible was completed or the canon was completed then the gifts of the holy spirit were done away with that's nonsense [00:47:56] Because it goes on to tell you that the one that's perfect coming [00:48:00] Is jesus the word? [00:48:03] Means and he says we'll see him face to face [00:48:07] And let's read verse 10 again [00:48:08] But when that which is perfect has come then that which is in part shall be done away when I was a child [00:48:13] I spoke as a child understood as a child. I thought as a child and when I became a man [00:48:18] I put away childish things for now we see through a glass darkly [00:48:22] But then face to face now, I know in part, but then shall I know even as also I am known now abideth [00:48:30] faith hope charity or love in action these three, but the greatest of these [00:48:35] is love [00:48:38] now [00:48:40] Again, I want to end this today. I'm not going to go [00:48:43] Much more here [00:48:45] I just want to end this today with this [00:48:48] that [00:48:50] No matter how much we think we know we only know in part [00:48:54] No matter how much revelation we have understanding [00:48:58] About how many years we've studied the bible on how how much holy ghost revelation god's given us [00:49:05] We still know apart. I tell the lord all the time. I know there's things I don't see I don't understand [00:49:10] That I need to see that I need to understand [00:49:13] And he reminds me of this all the time you you you see through a glass darkly, you know in part you prophesy in part [00:49:20] It's only going to be perfect when jesus returns when we see him face to face [00:49:25] And we're changed into his image. We [00:49:28] Receive the immortal body [00:49:32] We are made like him [00:49:35] That's when that which is perfect is gone [00:49:43] folks [00:49:48] You know, I was thinking about this [00:49:52] When you get attacked [00:49:56] When someone in your family that you love hurts you [00:50:00] When a friend or a co-worker betrays you [00:50:05] When you see somebody else [00:50:08] Excelling or being blessed or moving beyond you [00:50:14] You're gonna have to choose love [00:50:18] And then well, I don't feel it [00:50:21] especially if somebody's rude mean crude [00:50:25] Lie or steal or cheat [00:50:30] I don't feel it. Listen, you don't have to feel it. You know what happens? [00:50:34] Jesus said love your enemies then he told you how to deal with it. Pray for them [00:50:40] And do good to them [00:50:40] Let me tell you if you honestly pray for your enemy or for those that hurt you or for those that have lied or ridiculed [00:50:47] About you or whatever if you honestly pray for god's blessing and goodness and mercy and peace and forgiveness [00:50:53] To come into their lives and you mean it you pray it and tell you mean it you will eventually feel it [00:51:00] You will love them [00:51:05] You know, honestly, look there's a big and I I don't want to get into all the drama [00:51:11] But I mean there's been a big like I'm just talking about the flat earth community this whole thing leading up to this big conference [00:51:17] There's been these big explosions and accusations flowing all over the place [00:51:23] and different people that certain people are [00:51:25] are [00:51:26] Infiltrators and agents and shills and all this other stuff and all this this stuff has been going on [00:51:33] You know for the christians in this mix [00:51:36] I just want to say this [00:51:39] So what? [00:51:42] So what if there are infiltrators and agents? [00:51:46] And disinfo agents and cia agents and government agents and illuminati agents and state agents who cares? [00:51:53] You know what? Jesus said love your enemies [00:52:01] Look, there are going to be people there. I don't agree with at all [00:52:08] There's going to be some people there that i've had public [00:52:12] Disagreements with over theological and doctrinal issues [00:52:17] But do I despise them or hate them? [00:52:21] Or am I going to be unkind to them or mean to them or anything like that? No, you know what i'm gonna do [00:52:26] Hug their neck and i'm not saying I believe these people that's been accused are shills or agents or infiltrators [00:52:40] I'm not saying that i'm just saying, you know what? It doesn't matter [00:52:43] Because i'm not supposed to treat my christian brother [00:52:48] any different [00:52:50] Than my enemy or my enemy [00:52:53] Any different than my christian brother? [00:52:57] I should hug both their necks. I should be praying for both of them [00:53:02] I should be patient [00:53:04] and kind [00:53:06] And gentle [00:53:08] And speak the truth [00:53:11] To both of them [00:53:12] And well, amen [00:53:15] That's what jesus would do [00:53:17] What did jesus do with judas? [00:53:22] That jesus when when judas came with the soldiers to betray jesus [00:53:27] They came with the soldiers and he kissed him [00:53:30] He judas kissed jesus on the cheek. That was the sign of his betrayal [00:53:36] a kiss [00:53:39] On the cheek [00:53:41] And the lord just says you betray the son of man with a kiss [00:53:46] But you know what jesus didn't turn and smack him [00:53:54] Jesus could have just raised his hand [00:53:56] And dropped him all dead [00:54:00] As he said I could call for 12 legions of angels to deliver me from this situation [00:54:07] And and simon peter stands up with a sword and cuts off one of the soldiers ear whoo [00:54:13] Cuts it off. What does jesus do reach down picks up the ear and heals him puts it back on [00:54:22] And tells me stop [00:54:23] So what was jesus doing? [00:54:32] He was treating his enemies [00:54:35] Just like he was treating his disciples [00:54:40] Pretty wild, huh? [00:54:42] Now that's what he wants us to do [00:54:45] Here and now [00:54:49] But listen the book of james says we have not because we ask not you know what we don't pray about these things, dude [00:54:54] Do you ask god work in me? [00:54:58] Change me work in me the fruit of the spirit help me love more help me be more gentle [00:55:04] More patient more kind more full of faith [00:55:07] Help me love my enemies [00:55:13] You have to pray for it. You have to want it. You have to seek after you know [00:55:26] By this jesus said by this they will know you are my disciples if you love one another [00:55:33] What was he talking about just the disciples? No [00:55:39] No [00:55:45] That's why jesus went to the [00:55:49] House of sinners and ate with him [00:55:52] You know what he was showing them is I love you too [00:55:58] The son of man came to seek and say that which is lost is what he said [00:56:02] I want to be right there with you [00:56:07] That's one of the reasons there are a bunch of people saying oh a bunch of christians out there [00:56:10] I wouldn't go to that conference because there's going to be [00:56:13] Non-christian speakers and there's going to be all these unsaid people and all these new agers and all this stuff [00:56:21] My lord, shouldn't there be some christians there? Shouldn't there be a pastor there? [00:56:28] Shouldn't someone go [00:56:30] and try to be [00:56:34] The light [00:56:38] That's what i'm gonna try to do but I need your prayers because I don't always do it very well [00:56:43] Yeah [00:56:45] All right. I'm gonna do something. I don't normally do [00:56:48] I'm gonna get y'all out of here at 12 o'clock straight up [00:56:52] But something has happened [00:57:00] Ask god to help you develop the fruit of the spirit in your life [00:57:08] And to walk in love towards your enemies [00:57:11] Again, I want to I want to make it clear. I'm not saying there's not a time for rebuke correction instruction [00:57:19] There's a time to be strong to be fierce to be bold to be [00:57:23] you know [00:57:24] there's a time [00:57:26] as [00:57:27] You know cliche. He asked these three there's a time for war. There's a time for peace [00:57:32] Sometimes I got to declare war i've had to remove wolves out of this place and [00:57:37] I've had other churches where i've and ministries where i've had to i've had to finally put my foot down and drive witches out [00:57:45] Hit me. I didn't love them [00:57:48] But I had to protect the sheep [00:57:51] There's going to be more [00:57:53] Confrontations going on. We live in a time of deception. We live in a time of great deception false teachings in the body of christ [00:58:01] Within christianity like I have never seen in 30 years [00:58:05] So we've still got a war going on [00:58:07] We still got a war with the demonic realm with satan with the evil people the witches and the satanists and the infiltrators [00:58:14] And the new wagers there is a war going on [00:58:18] And we got to fight it strong in prayer and fasting in jesus name and boldly confronting it [00:58:25] I'm, never going to say it's okay to be homosexual. It's not [00:58:30] I'm, never going to say it's okay to be an adulterer or drunkard or anything. It's not [00:58:34] Repent turn from sin believe in the lord jesus christ and be saved be washed in the blood of the lamb [00:58:41] I'm, never going to say that there. Oh, there's many ways that lead to heaven. No, there's one way [00:58:46] Jesus and jesus alone never going to say oh, well all religions have the truth. No only one has the truth [00:59:01] So I will not compromise [00:59:04] And I will not be effeminate or weak [00:59:08] I am a man. I don't apologize [00:59:14] In a country. It can't tell what bathroom to use [00:59:20] but [00:59:24] My ultimate goal [00:59:26] Is to do everything in my power to try to love them [00:59:31] And be good to them [00:59:33] And lead them to the savior who will forgive them [00:59:36] see [00:59:37] Our enemies out there witches satanists new agers [00:59:44] atheist agnostics [00:59:46] Scientists into your scientism theories your own religion of scientism [00:59:53] You hate god you hate the bible [00:59:57] The truth of the matter is the god of the bible still loves you [01:00:04] He paid for your sin on the cross [01:00:06] even if you never accept [01:00:08] His payment and his forgiveness and his love [01:00:12] That came through the blood [01:00:14] of jesus christ [01:00:17] He still loves you even if you choose [01:00:19] To be separate from him forever and go to hell for all eternity. He will still love you [01:00:30] men [01:00:31] Let's stand as well. Jesus. I ask you lord to reveal yourself to people that [01:00:37] Don't know you to people that are away from you to people that have been hurt and wounded by [01:00:43] Christians or what they thought was christianity. I pray lord [01:00:47] That you by your holy spirit will penetrate hearts and minds of those that have been watching [01:00:54] Those that who may be watching this [01:00:57] later after the fact lord, but [01:00:59] God also got at the conference and all those who will see and hear [01:01:04] lord the [01:01:06] the interviews [01:01:08] the teaching [01:01:10] God, we pray that many many that hundreds of thousands of people will find [01:01:16] You as their lord and savior [01:01:18] That you'll reveal yourself the truth [01:01:21] You'll break off the lies [01:01:26] We pray it today in jesus name
