[Visual: A man sits at a desk with a laptop, a phone, and a reMarkable paper tablet.] --- [Visual: Close-up of the reMarkable screen. The screen shows a list of folders under "My files": 1 Projects, 2 Areas, 3 Resources, and 4 Archives.] [Visual: A person's hands tap and swipe on the reMarkable screen.] --- [Visual: The man sits at the desk and speaks to the camera.] Michael: Hello, I'm Michael. Let me show you how I use folders on my reMarkable paper tablet to organize all my notes and documents securely and efficiently. --- [Visual: A person's hands place the reMarkable on the desk.] Michael: The system I'm about to show you is called the PARA method. Developed by Forte Labs, PARA is short for Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archives. And you'll sort all your files into these four categories. Here, take a look. --- [Visual: A finger taps the "1 Projects" folder on the reMarkable screen, opening a list of project folders.] Michael: Let's start with Projects. These are 10 to 15 important tasks that you're working on right now, and they have set deadlines and outcomes. [Visual: The finger returns to the main folder view and taps the "2 Areas" folder, opening a list of area folders.] Michael: Second, Areas. These are ongoing responsibilities. Like projects, they're important but they lack a set deadline. [Visual: The finger returns to the main folder view and taps the "3 Resources" folder, opening a list of resource folders.] Michael: Third, Resources. In this folder you'll put anything you find inspiring or interesting that could be useful for future projects. [Visual: The finger returns to the main folder view and taps the "4 Archives" folder, opening a list of archive folders.] Michael: Fourth and final, Archives. When you're finished with a project, area, or resource, move it to this folder. Don't delete. Archive. --- Michael: Now, let's take a look at how this organizational system works in practice. [Visual: The man looks at his laptop.] Michael: Earlier today, a client emailed me a document about a project I'm assisting them with. I downloaded it to my computer, and now I'll just drag the document into the reMarkable desktop app to import it. [Visual: On the laptop screen, a PDF icon is dragged into the reMarkable desktop app.] [Visual: The document appears in the app. The cursor drags the document into the "1 Projects" folder, then into a subfolder named "Sanderson partial sale."] Michael: I'll drag it into the Projects folder, and then into the folder where I keep the other project files. --- Michael: Now when I move over to my reMarkable... [Visual: From an overhead view, a person's hand navigates on the reMarkable paper tablet. It opens the "1 Projects" folder, then the "Sanderson partial sale" subfolder, revealing the document.] Michael: I'll find the document right where I left it. And even as I import files and move between devices, all my client's information is encrypted and stored securely in the cloud. --- [Visual: The reMarkable screen shows the "1 Projects" folder list.] Michael: Here's a project that just wrapped up. To move it to the archives, I'll long press it... [Visual: A finger presses and holds on a folder named "District AKB proposal," highlighting it. An options menu appears at the top.] Michael: ...tap Move... [Visual: The finger taps the "Move" icon.] Michael: ...navigate to the Archives folder... [Visual: The finger taps back to the main file view, then taps the "4 Archives" folder.] Michael: ...and move it. [Visual: The finger taps the "Move here" icon.] --- Michael: However, I think we'll need one of these documents for a future project when we file this client's taxes. [Visual: From an overhead view, a person holds a phone displaying the reMarkable mobile app. They navigate into the "Archives" folder.] [Visual: On the phone screen, a finger navigates into an archived folder, selects a document, and taps the "Move" icon.] Michael: I'll move the document into Resources for now. [Visual: The finger navigates back to the main file view, selects the "3 Resources" folder, selects a subfolder named "2025 Tax season," and taps the "Move here" icon.] Michael: When I need it, I'll know exactly where to find it. --- Michael: Imagine how much time you'll save having an organizational structure that just works for everything.
