[Visual: A hand holds a smartphone. A notification appears.] --- [Visual: Hands push a metal cart with food and drinks in an office hallway.] --- [Visual: Rectangular light fixtures hang in an office.] --- [Visual: A woman sits at a wooden table in a meeting room.] Jessica: Meetings get a bad rap, and for good reason. We show up unprepared, we don't spend our time effectively, and we leave without clear action points. My name is Jessica, and I host a lot of meetings. This is how I use my reMarkable paper tablet as my go-to meeting companion. --- [Visual: A close-up of a red fabric case for a reMarkable. The text "reMarkable" is visible.] [Visual: A black Marker is attached to the side of the case.] [Visual: A close-up of the keys on a Type Folio.] --- Jessica: There are lots of ways to conduct meetings. I prefer creating and sending out an agenda in advance, then using it as the framework for my meeting notes. This is called the outline method, and it works. Whether you're taking handwritten notes with your Marker, or typed notes on Type Folio. --- [Visual: A hand holds a Marker over a reMarkable paper tablet. The screen shows a handwritten template titled "MEETING AGENDA" with fields for Date, Time, Location, Objective, Attendees, Topics, and Action Points.] Jessica: Here's a meeting agenda template I've created on my reMarkable. It lists everything we need to know to be prepared. When and where we're meeting, why it's taking place, who's attending, and what we're going to discuss. --- [Visual: A woman sits at a table, smiling, with a reMarkable in a Type Folio in front of her.] Jessica: Here's the same template as typed text. [Visual: A reMarkable with a Type Folio displays a typed version of the Meeting Agenda.] Jessica: When I need to call a new meeting, I can just duplicate this template... [Visual: A finger taps the screen, selects a file, and taps the duplicate icon in the menu bar.] Jessica: ...and start filling it in. [Visual: A hand uses a Marker to write details on the agenda template.] [Visual: Hands type details into the agenda on the Type Folio.] Jessica: And all I need to do now is bring the agenda to my meeting and take notes below each topic. [Visual: Hands type notes under a topic on the reMarkable.] [Visual: A hand uses a Marker to write notes under a topic.] Jessica: If you need more space when taking notes by hand, just use the selection tool. [Visual: The Marker circles a block of handwritten text, which is then moved down the page.] Jessica: Quick note-taking tip: Don't write everything down verbatim. Prioritize important details. Use abbreviations to save time. And experiment with color to provide at-a-glance context when you're reviewing your notes afterwards. Like using a specific highlighter color for time-sensitive notes, or green ink to mark a positive development. [Visual: On-screen text is highlighted in yellow. Other text is written in blue ink.] Jessica: No meeting is complete without agreeing on concrete next steps. Phrase these action points like this: person, action, condition. For example: Jessica to brief legal after revising rollout plan. [Visual: A hand uses a Marker to write an action point. Hands type another action point.] Jessica: And once the meeting is over, you can convert your meeting notes to text... [Visual: A menu appears on screen. The "Convert to text" option is selected. The handwritten notes change to typed text.] Jessica: ...refine them on Type Folio... [Visual: Hands type on the Type Folio, editing the converted text.] Jessica: ...and share them with your colleagues right from your reMarkable. [Visual: A finger taps the share icon, then "Send by email." An email interface appears with recipient addresses filled in.] Jessica: Of course, the nice part about reMarkable is that you don't have to choose. You can combine handwritten and typed notes on the same page and get all the benefits of both. [Visual: A reMarkable with a Type Folio displays a page with a mix of typed text, handwritten notes, and highlights.] Jessica: For more tips on how to get organized, improve your workflow, and find focus, check out the Learning and Inspiration Hub using reMarkable.
