I've always interested in in sort of how things are put together. --- [Visual: A small seaplane flies over an industrial harbor with windmills in the background.] --- [Visual: The man walks into focus and smiles. [Visual: Close-ups of small, wooden architectural models.] Jakob Lange: Maybe the most important learnings is that sometimes one of your colleagues come up with the the great idea, the idea that makes it. [Visual: A wooden shelf is filled with many small, white architectural models of various shapes.] Jakob Lange: And I think that's the strength about having a team is that everybody contributes to that common idea. --- [Visual: Jakob walks through a lounge area with modern, light-colored sofas. He sits down on a sofa.] Jakob Lange: My job is to actually kind of hover a little bit above everything and make sure that all of these thoughts are are tested and compared against each other and that we go with the best idea. --- [Visual: Jakob sits on a sofa, writing on his reMarkable paper tablet. Text appears on screen: What were the breakthroughs with BoConcept?] [Visual: Over-the-shoulder view of Jakob sketching on the reMarkable.] Jakob Lange: Every time we start a project, you ask yourself, what are we gonna bring to the table? How are we gonna tackle this? How are we going to design a new sofa? [Visual: Close-up on the reMarkable screen. Jakob sketches a three-dimensional padded object, adding shading and details with the Marker.] Jakob Lange: And in the case of this project, we started looking at sponges because obviously the sofas are full of soft cushioning inside. And we looked at how does that perform when you tie a rope around it or an elastic band. Jakob Lange: The next step in that process was then to figure out how do you turn that language into a piece of furniture. So it really became this longer sketching sessions where you try to use the rope around the sponge in different ways to create the furniture or the sketch of the furniture. --- [Visual: A detailed, multi-level architectural model with miniature figures. [Visual: Close-up of Jakob drawing on the reMarkable.] Jakob Lange: And this maybe goes for for everybody, that when you have something that you're engaged in and that piques your interest, then that's when you're the most happy. --- [Visual: Jakob stands on an outdoor balcony, leaning on a glass railing and looking out over a city and harbor on an overcast day.
